This was an unfair fight, Boba Fett survived being in the Holiday Special. Predator can’t beat someone that survived that

Boba Fett sealing his own wound with a lightsaber is such an incredible detail. It feels true to his character and makes the fight more grisly.

I love how severed arms are so common in the star wars universe that Boba fett pretty much just catches his breath and shakes it off.

Boba fett with one arm using a lightsaber to fight a predator using a laser scythe in the middle of a ring of fire might just be the coolest thing ever.

I like how "Survived debuting in the Holiday Special" is considered one of Fett's feats

13:40 gave me chills yo. The predators using voice clips of their prey to learn their language and taunt them always stood out to me in the movies

I'd like to think the tribe that the Yautja was from, documented Boba's Mandalorian symbol as the mark of a worthy foe. The tribe elder probably would've bestowed Boba with an honorary symbol of their tribe too.

Considering he walked away holding his severed arm, I'm assuming Boba reattached it later on.

This is an argument me and my cousin have had for several years, it will now finally be answered.

The predator species is basically another version of the Trandoshans (Bossk being a famous example); Boba has plenty of experience dealing with them.

A common misconception about the Predator's thermal vision is that their helmet gives to to them. But their helmet just focuses their own poor thermal vision enough for them to properly see, which is why they take it off to fight a worthy prey

I'd be interested to know who you would have awarded the win to if the predators suicide bomb would have been able to take out Fett.

I rlly wouldn’t be surprised if Boba Fett killed a few predators. Keep in mind that it only took Arnold Schwarzenegger to kill one.

Boba Fett had more lines in this battle than he did in the original trilogy.

My favorite part of this death battle was how the fire turned the Predator's own thermal vision against him making him essentially blind.

If I recall, from the old books, predators trained on the Xenomorph warriors. They were, one on one, considered starter prey. Tough and fast, but very predictable. A Queen, on the other hand, was a fight for a whole group or tribe. Where they might win, but expected to take heavy losses. However, the greatest foe to fight was the "Oomans". Humans were the prey you had to work up to to be allowed to go hunt them. They were, physically, weak and small. But were considered to be the trickiest, most innovative, adaptable, and resilient prey in the universe. It astounded the predators that a race so small and fragile could be such a threat when provoked. So they were accorded the, dubious, honor of being considered the most worthy foes. Only the seasoned warriors were permitted to go hunt them. And human trophies were prized.

Fett losing an arm is honestly awesome just the idea of a close and personal fight between him and a predator and him winning with his arm as the cost is awesome

Whoever wins, the other gets a sweet trophy for their collection. Could you imagine a Predator with/ madalorian armor and abilities? Or Boba with the crazy plasma scythe?

In one of the Alien vs Predator comics it’s mentioned that Yautja consider humans(at that point in time) to be among the most dangerous creatures they’ve encountered, that only the most veteran Yautja are allowed to hunt. And the humans in that setting are worse equipped and far less skilled than the Starwars counterparts Edit: I should say that the comic never clarified why this is. It could just be that the Yautja want to avoid a full-scale war with humanity.

Personally I don't see Boba being able to block any predator strikes due to strength disparity. Think lightweight vs heavyweight. Sure the armor keeps penetrating rounds at bay but the predator could literally rip his limbs off if he wanted to.

If the predator did not take off his mask he would have maybe won. But alas boba survived the holiday special

They should’ve used a bad blood predator (meaning a dishonorable predator) which should’ve been a much more interesting fight.

One thing that wasn't implemted in the fight was the fact that a lightsaber burns way hotter than regular fire. In the Predator's vision we saw the lightsaber as pure white which is accurate, but the Predator would have been able to see the lightsaber surrounded by the fire even if it couldn't see Boba Fett.

Boba is immune, no matter how many times predator cuts him… THE FANBASE WILL REVIVE HIM!

Predator's mask has the heat vision not his regular eyes. The predator I guess they used as a example was the one in 2010 but even then I'm sure that built in heat vision is for very few predators

Funny enough, I believe there was a Clone Wars episode where inside a Trandoshan trophy room there was a xenomorph and predator skull hanging from the wall as a funny Easter egg so this matchup is technically possible

it should also be noted that one of Boba's common rivals is Bossk. A character very similar to the predator in many ways. While a predator is certainly smarter than Bossk the way that they fight is almost identical down to the claws and thermal vision. The only practical difference is that the predator uses cloaking technology that you guys were quick to dismiss as Fett's visor beats it. Considering how often Boba fett defeats Bossk both in and out of canon and how the fights are so much of a joke that Fett doesn't bother killing bossk because he represents so little of a threat I think this fight should have been over much sooner. Considering the variety of super human aliens that fill the star wars galaxy fighting a Yautcha is just a tuesday to Fett.

That result makes sense. Half the reasons the "dishonorable" trickster characters lose involve 1) considerably less power, 2) personal arrogance, and/or 3) plot armor. How many times do the good guys win because they "get lucky"? (In its worst form, also known as Deux ex Machina or pulling a good guy win out of the writer/producer's rear end.)

Honestly I love the small detail of the yautja using it’s tech that can mimic voices, to taunt boba

I had just watched a video on another channel with a similar match up, The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) vs Predator, while I would love to see your take on that I believe the outcome would be about the same, but I think you did a better job covering the background of both combatants.

A much better death battle than Boba Fett vs Samus.

DB actually forgot to mention something important from Predator lore: They consider the Xenomorphs, aka Kiande Amedha, or "Hard Meat," to be what they blood their young warriors on. They consider Humans, aka Pyode Amedha / "Soft Meat," to be one of their greatest challenges. Yeah, they consider modern humans scarier than a hive of bugs, and Fett's gear is way gnarlier than the stuff the Predators would have had to face when we earned that reputation.

Win or loss, I just appreciate how the Predator saved the lines of their prey to try and flex on them later on the hunt. Pretty boss.

Death Battle: Uses an Elder Predator Elder Predator: Has the skills, feats and equipment of a newblood Predator.

That smart disc arm rip was cool. But I wasn't surprised for a dead yautja. Seeing as how expendable they are and how they probably don't want Boba to lose. 💀

In an arena honour duel, especially upclose, the predatorwould have won easily. But in a battle for life or death, Boba was just equipped for much more dangerous opponents than the Predator was. Plus, Bona was way more adaptive and observative in figuring out any potentual weakness. While the Predator mostly would just try to measure up and overcome its "prey"s skill and strength with its own.

I requested this battle a long time ago, so this is a dream come true! I can't wait to see if any of my other requested battles will be seen in the future (hopefully not too far in the future).

I had a feeling that Boba Fett's willingness to fight dirty would be what gave him the edge over the honorable Predator, but this was such a close match that I was low-key prepared to be wrong.

As soon as I saw that fiery battle ground, I knew the Yautja was done for. Also, while I accept the outcome, I'd just like to point out that Yautja don't specifically hunt only xenomorphs, as may have been pointed out in the results part. Anyways, Deathbattle is doing what Disney should have: a fight between it's franchises. Since we're doing this, can we expect a Xenomorph sometime in the future?

This is really an interesting fight, when you consider that Yautja would really make for one hell of an addition to the Star Wars universe, which is already full of interesting (and very deadly) aliens. Predators would fit right in. They'd be like Wookies without the fur, and with extremely advanced technology; but, like was shown, Star Wars has a lot of tech that can easily match it.

I think it actually depends more on which predator they went with because each hunter prefers a type of arsenal and tactics. I really liked this battle even tho they didn't seem to research specific Yautja, which would be more fitting to have a named Yautja vs another named character, especially someone as cool as Boba Fett

I think you guys need to stop using “laser dodging” as a feat for speed and reflexes. Moving out of the line of fire isn’t the same as dodging a bolt of light. Moving to not be in front of the barrel isn’t the same as avoiding a beam that’s already been fired at you.

Sure boba has used a lightsaber in the past, but he’s not always going to have one at his disposal.

I love the animation of the fights now, and this fight was actually a great match-up I enjoyed the whole way through

One big issue, Yautja cloaks hide thermal signatures, not just visual. As seen by their own perspective in both movies and games.

In one of the predator movies someone tried to trick them using fire to overwhelm their thermal vision, so they just switched the settings in their helmet and could see fine. I really wanted that to be implemented here.

Ya know I can tell someone definitely knew how a quarter staff and or other staff like weapons work by how the predator used his weapon very fluently, but not so much for bobas weapon. Since technically with his technique of using it. Makes it easier to pass guard or bind up the weapon and counter attack with another weapon

One of the things that confused me about the predators are they never made some kind of counter against fire knowing if their enemies figure out they're more likely dead

In all honesty, I'm actually super stoked for this fight. I don't think I've been this excited for a Death Battle since Batman vs. Iron Man. I think the main reason is I've just always wanted to see a Predator (Yautjia) hunting some of my favorite Star Wars characters. I mean, whats a better hunt for a space faring trophy hunter born into a race of warriors obsessed with honoring his people through hunting and killing the most dangerous beings in the galaxy than an intergalactic space wizard that has a glow sword that can cut through almost anything and can move things with their mind?! Or better yet, another race of warrior people that also have highly advanced armor and equipment that are similarly obsessed with bringing honor to their "clan".

Even if he lost The Predator humiliating Boba with his own voice was hilarious

You forgot to mention something about the self-destruct thing. In Predator 2, it was destroyed mid-countdown, and it aborted the explosion.

One the one hand, I don’t think anything in Predator’s arsenal can hurt Boba Fett. On the other hand, Predator has a century of combat experience, so this battle could go either way. Edit: I made a pun and didn’t even realize it

What this comes down to, in my opinion, is preferred engagement distance. Boba's arsenal is very much designed to be used at mid-long ranges. His blasters, missiles, grenades, flamethrowers, etc., all show this. His melee weapons are fairly standard and although he can hold his own in close-quarters fight, it typically just amounts to not dying rather than actually winning. A predator's arsenal is the opposite. They focus on melee and close quarters fighting more than anything else. From wrist blades to knives to staves, their weapons are specialised to fight enemies up-close, and are very versatile. The plasma scythe for example can cut through most armored opponents with easy, so Boba's armour wouldn't help much either. They also have ranged attacks, but their most effectives ones are typically middle range thrown weapons. Their true long range weapons are pretty basic all things considered, and are relatively weak in comparison. It is likely the plasma caster would be unable to penetrate Boba's armour at all. They can kill at a distance, yes, but they have far more experience in melee. Their tools mostly just counter each other and level the playing field. Neither has an advantage in this regard that could change the outcome. For example, the predator can use thermal vision, but Boba's flamethrowers and explosives would disrupt that, so the predator would be better off using something else. So, in a death battle Boba would take the victory because whoever can kill the other first is going to be based, more often than not, on who has the better ranged attacks as this means a much faster kill. Boba can just play keep away and score kill after kill without needing to get close. If he does get caught in a melee, the predator's experience and versatile weapons will get the edge. Boba may carry a lightsaber, but it is unlikely he'd be able to land a hit against a predator with centuries of combat experience specifically against melee opponents, while the predator would be able to kill him relatively easily. But with no real counter against Boba's ranged attacks or strong enough ranged attacks to match him, the predator is, in all likelihood, going to lose before he can close the distance.

Honestly I was rooting for the predator given his skills and tech. But this match did not disappoint and it was fair and evenly matched

Death Battle treated Boba Fett with much more respect in this video than Disney did with The Book of Boba in the whole first season, ironic.

There really is a special feel to see Boba Fett surviving the explosion and walk towards his ship with triumphant music playing in the background. After over 11 years of being Death Battle's first ever loser, he has finally emerged victorious.

I never knew I needed to see a Yautja fight Boba Fett. I mean I just saw Boba no scope the Yautja that was in the air behind him, not even needing to fully turn to see due to his 360 vision. Then Boba later cauterized his own wound with a lightsaber, what a badass.

There was one thing that everyone else here forgot about the predators vision. If you hadn’t taked off his mask and went for the killing shot with his site, I can guarantee you he would’ve won the fight. But when he took off his mask, and he saw nothing but flames that cloaked Boba it was over

These fight scenes are getting insanely more complex and detailed. It's amazing how far you guys have come since using the classic 16-bit sprites from the beginning of this show. Your dedication to improving your work is what keeps me coming back for more! 🤩

It’s weird that the Predator tracks the blood trail, and then just… stabs the tree. Even if he thought Boba was behind the trunk, it doesn’t look like it was even long enough to stab THROUGH the trunk.

I must confess that I was expecting the Predator to get the dub here. But that was a pretty damn impressive animation though

I feel like this battle was skewed in Boba's favor, the research on Yautjas was incredibly lacking. Yautjas are well acquainted with humans and their cunning and to hunt one is a great honor and for an Elder they made this one act quite inexperienced.

You guys usually don't mess up like this but without their mask Pred doesn't see in heat vision anymore, and they can't be seen with infrared too. Really feel the research was more on Fett than Predator.

Thats pretty neat that you guys addressed that the predators we see on screen are fledglings. Not everyone knows that those "babies" are as deadly as they are. Alpha predators are a different league. Also the xenomorph kingdom is insane. Accounts of the Earth War talks about Queen guards. Those xenonorphs are practically unstoppable.

As an aside, using the heat of a lightsaber to cauterize a wound is rather brilliant.

Boba climbing a tree with one arm and no jetpack in full view of an opponent that can see thermal was ridiculous. Not to mention predator stabbing through the tree instead of just lighting it up with the plasma caster. Nice animation though.

Using Legends feats means Boba would probably win anyway, but they fudged a lot of details in regards to the Predator. The infrared vision was a major oversight; Predator 2, AvP: Requiem and numerous comics show that the Yautja have more than just infrared sight in their helmets, to the point that a major reason Gary Busey's character gets his ass kicked is because he and his squad wrongly assumed that the City Hunter was restricted to seeing on an infrared spectrum. Their cloaking is also capable of hiding them from the vision sensors of other Yautja, which would be rather relevant in a fight where one of the deciding factors is whether or not Boba can even see who he's engaging with. A good chunk of standard Predator gadgets seem to be missing, and many of the Yautja's physical feats outside of strength appear to have been ignored. Relativistic speed is also being way too generous for both parties; blaster bolts don't function similarly to beams of light, and neither do the lasers that the Predator dodged. More than that, both parties have shown limitations far below that threshold, and most people will agree that neither of them have consistently shown the ability to fight at near-lightspeed. It seems like the team did this to avoid addressing the fact that the Predators' next-best feats involve bullet-timing and outrunning cars, while Boba has done nothing similar. Overall, I feel that they got the right answer, but they arrived at said answer using entirely the wrong means. The fight was cool, but the research was pretty lacking.
