When you hear "Yamaha Motor Company," you might think of motorcycles, but the truth is a little more interesting. Yamaha Motor Company is a global corporation with more than 20 branches around the world, employing 53,500 employees.
Genichi Kawakami, the founder of Yamaha Motor, is defined as “broadminded.” Kawakami, a man of good character with an unconstrained management style, understood the value of raw materials and metalworking early on and was an engineer of exceptional zeal.
Genichi insouciantly combined the delicate notes of the piano and the ear-splitting roar of the motorcycle to create the Yamaha empire which grew to be one of the most powerful companies in the world.
The Yamaha Motor Company was founded in 1955, and it quickly expanded its product line to include boats, outboard motors, snowmobiles, water scooters, bathtubs, tennis rackets, golf carts, and machine tools. Both branches merged in 1987 to form the Yamaha Corporation.
With his vision and philosophies, Genichi Kawakami paved the way for Yamaha Motor Company's growth. The company's total integrity with consumers and ability to create goods that stand on their own allows it to serve customers all over the world and enhance people's lives through high-quality, high-performance products.
