Try to calculate the doses. If Dr. Jones mention for example 1 ml =1 milliliter= 20 drops ) for 20 pounds bodyweight, you divide the dose into four for a dog of 5 pounds bodyweight. ( 20:4=5) Or 500 mg ( milligrams = 0.5 gram ) for 20 pounds bodyweight you do the same: 500 mg divided into 4 = 125 mg.
@@kathidori8504 I think where we have the most trouble with our small pups is when the remedies can’t be put into smaller doses. Sometimes that happens and it becomes impossible to be able to use a certain useful remedy. It has even happened with my vets at times with certain meds. 😞
You have saved me a lot money and stress. I was able to treat my dog at home and I wanted to thank you for what you do and speaking truth to some things can be treated at home and the vet is unnecessary sometimes
My dog doesn't have any problems with itching, as long as I don't feed him chicken. But if he did have these problems, I would definitely try some of these suggestions. I don't trust my vet in the slightest, with their expensive tests and drugs which rarely help anything but their own bank balance. I only use my vet for emergencies and as a last resort. I always go for natural remedies from the internet first, and so far, it's been a good decision. In my experience, most vets seem to make things worse a lot of the time, and rarely help. But I do have one concern, it's common knowledge that garlic is bad for dogs, every list of food not to give your dog contains garlic, so why are you suggesting a garlic supplement.
You'll find many dog vaccines are made with chicken, beef, soy and egg proteins. It's why so many pets (and children) have allergies to these foods whilst lamb and turkey are considered 'safe' foods.
Is it safe to give all treatments at one time from this video? I think you’re a very knowledgeable Veterinarian, and I think very highly of you! Thank you for all you do for the pets, and pet owners ❤️
We live in South Dakota and its very dry in the cold winter months and we only needed krill oil and a good humidifier and that salved our dogs Itching. Thank you for your very informative videos. Been watching you for a few years now
Thank you for this video. My dog has been on appequil for a few years and it's expensive plus I don't trust pharma companies anymore. I love and appreciate your videos.
I am loving your RU-vid content. Thank you so much for all the wonderful information you share with us. And your free Essential Fatty Acids seminar was fantastic!
I use Liquid Silver (Pure Colloidal Silver) by Naka Platinum for any infection. Just started Medi Paws dietary supplement that has pure Cannabis Sativa Hemp Seed Oil and Nutritional yeast. Fatty acids, gamma linoleic acid and protein. Just a eye drop squirter to introduce it to her body. Will have the CBD oil proper dose hopefully this Thursday. On order. As for shampoo, I use Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner by Live Clean. I swear by that product for me dog. She's so sensitive and this stiff works great! No itchiness and helps keep nots down with her long hair being Border CollieX. And been cooking her stews and stir frys with rice noodles. She loves it and her poops r solid. Yay! And her fur is like down!
Hi thank you for you reference…how do you use the naka colloidal silver…topical or drink? I have a highly allergic cocker spaniel…please help.thank you
Dear Dr. Jones, Thank you for this information. My dog has had long term allergies with nothing to alleviate his symptoms. I would like to suggest that it would be useful if you could write the video information in bullet points with dosages down in your post as well so we can review the information and jot it down to purchase it! I don't have time to watch your video five or more times just to write this information down!
If you tap on more under the video and then scroll down. You see ( show transcript) you can then read exactly what he says in the video. I do this all the the time. Hope it helps 🥰
QQQ. Dr. Jones, Does it matter if it is deglycrized? I use licorice for myself. However, herbalist Stephen Harrod Buhner mentions licorice can raise blood pressure, if not deglycrized. So short term use of pure licorice tincture is ok. I use it it short term off and on as an antiviral.
Also, he scratches I'm not sure if it was the tick n flea disgusting chew I gave him called Bravecto which has so many lawsuits. I was so mad after I found out. I called the vet to tell them they acted surprised but ONLY keep pushing it. I haven't given him anything being how it's cold weather now. One of it's reaction out of a shopping list is itchy skin 😤😤. I will try your remedies 🐾 💟very appreciative for your information.
Love u and yr tips u have changed my dog well being after I watched u two weeks ago I love u for giving my dog peace calm skin love fran and Harrybo in 🇬🇧 England xx
He probably doesn't have time to list every dose for every dog weight. You can work out the dose for your dog by using a calculator and the weight and dose he used in the example. Divide the dog weight he used by the weight of your dog. Then divide the dose he used, by the result you got in that calculation. That will be the correct dose for your dog. Example: 50lbs divided by 10lbs = 5. 20mg divided by 5 = 4. So the dose for your dog would be 4mg. Hope that helps.
I have about a 13 lb Yorkie that has bad and when I say bad I mean bad he’s completely bald and we’ve taken him to the Vet many many times and they can’t seem to figure it out and we’ve been dealing with it for a few years now so I ordered everything he mentions in the video and was wondering if I could give him all the eatable stuff together or how would i do that if I may ask Thank you
Can it be any licorice root? Where can I get the same products you show. I have two pit bulls and they are allergic to everything. Right now they are taking apoquel and have taken everything that there is for that and they still get infections, and yeast all you said. Their poor ears are always infected. Please let me know
Benadryl/Diphenhydramine immediately cleared up my pup's allergies, he quit itching and healed up, you can get 1000 tabs for under $10 on Amazon. Research your dog's dosage.
Want to start off by saying THANK YOU....your videos have help me so much... Just wondering after how long of giving the licorice root oil can I restart it. Bought a small bottle and wasn't able to complete the 14-day
Me too! Olive oil on a piece of any bread, chopped garlic on it, makes me feel heaven! Bevor I was retired, I could eat that not many times, because I worked with people and babies........ now I can satisfy my urges, whenever I want.
Thank you! My puppy is 6.5 month old Pembroke Corgi. She is 21 pounds. We have LOTS of pollen and she has an itchy belly. Are these products and doses safe for her age and weight?
I do really appreciate all your info and your effort on doing videos.... thank you a lot ...... but what about fungal or yeast infection inside of ears and to much discharge of mucus in the eyes..... can some of those vitamins can work too ..... like drops .......??????
i love your channel.! I would love to see more videos on cats. I have a perfect kitty but he has a skin issue that i can not resolve, i do holistic care, changed foods, he gets a variety of foods including raw since he was a little guy. he has licked his fur of his belly and front legs, im doing castor oil, hes not loving it. but i Love castor oil. maybe you have some advice?
I find your videos very helpful. My Frenchie’s skin is in good condition, however, she recently started licking her paws 2-3 times a day. I began adding a tablespoon of org. coconut oil to her food and it seems to have helped. Is coconut oil something you would also recommend? Thank you.
Great video needed this, however, crazy question...do I try one remedy then see if it works or ??????? Plus how do I decide which to try? (have a tiny yorkie,(5.5 pds) alot of your remedies were stated 25-50 pds) Thanks in advance. 😊
I would try one at a time, and use it for a couple weeks. You don't want to overload the system, and if your dog has a reaction, you wouldn't know which one caused it. If it doesn't completely work, and there's no bad reaction, add another along with it. I would also start with an easy one like the krill oil. As long as your dog does not have a fish allergy... Most allergies are from food in my experience (I'm in animal rescue and I see it a lot). So the best solution is figuring out the root cause and stopping that (grains, fish, chicken, etc...) I would stay away from the garlic remedies he suggested. Garlic is controversial for dogs, and I would rather be safe then sorry. Personally, When a dog with allergies comes in, I always start by spraying their skin with Bannix (an inexpensive OTC spray that works well and will not sting if they have open sores), and giving them a 24 hr fast to let their body rest. Then I test mono foods known to have the highest allergic reactions to see what the root cause is. I give each a week. Usually reactions happen fast. If they are still itching, or have a really bad case, I will also give them Benadryl (1 mg per lb., or if they are small, 1 - 25 mg pill because you are not supposed to break the pills up). Just my 2 cents... I hope that helped. 😊
@@themamabearlife3339 can Benadyl be used long term. I have a Border Collie on Apoquel. I started him on fish oil supplement about a month ago. I want to take him off Apoquel and see how he gets on. And use an anti histamine if needed. Thanks ☺️
Question! My GSD shakes his ears constantly. His ears are very clean and he’s been to the Vet for check ups. He’s on a totally raw diet. His ears don’t smell. He shakes them so hard he makes little hematomas. Vet said the only thing he can think of is possible tinnitus but it’s hard to tell.
Would be possible to link the products you use or give the names for castor oil and other items. Our gsd is scratching and licking so much got to help the poor baby. 2 yrs old.
My very true me not to give anything with garlic to my Yorkies. When I had my Golden and my Brittany they both loved garlic and never had fleas. But since Yorkies are so small, is it safe??
HI i would like to know if clavamox is good my ferret? Because the veterinarian prescribed Clavamox and 0.25% Chlorhexidine to my ferret because his cyst burst, but she is trying at all costs to have him euthanized and for me it is not a solution.I have more confidence in you than in this veterinarian and I want your opinion. By the way, his cyst does not contain any cancer.
Hi, will these products help with grain allergies too? My poor pup has very watery eyes due to allergies. I would like to try something natural before we go to the vets for treatment. Thanks.
Dr Jones thank you for all that you do every time one of my fur babies feel sick I ALWAYS rush to your RU-vid channel I have a QUESTION do you happen to have a video on why a dog drinks water and within 2min or so throws up some of it??? My dog is 14 years old and it’s been 2 days he’s been drinking a lot of water and some of it comes back up last night I had to take him to the emergency hospital because he threw up and aspirated started having labored breathing was put on antibiotics, had a shot of furosemide & anti nausea med This morning I went to his vet he increased his furosemide and did blood work but did not tell me why he keeps drinking and throwing up some of it right after Please help if you can I have been doing research all day and can’t find an answer nor solutions
@@VeterinarySecrets thank you so much I’ll ask them tomorrow when they call me for his blood results he has heart failure he’s been on meds since May 2020 vetmedin enalapril and furosemide he also has a heart murmur grade 4 but he never drank so much water as he’s been doing for the past couple of days
In humans, drinking a lot could be a sign for diabetes. (I assume also in animals, but don't know 100 % ) Surely your vet checks this also in the blood test. I Wish him good health.
Doctor, hello. Please tell me if you have a video on your channel about what to do with the fear of dogs on the street? Many owners walk with their large pets without a muzzle and a leash. After the incident with the bite, psychologically you expect it from every dog you meet. What should I do?
I was thinking that it was mites. I have a large population of birds and wild chickens. Also have a neighbor who has 8 outdoor cats. They all will go into my small grassy area.
Could you please do a video on natural or OTC treatments for bulldog eyes? My vet is telling me to give Tacrolimus to my little guy to keep his eyes from drying out. He seems to not be taking it well though, so any recommendations are appreciated.
I've been lucky not to have any itchy dogs that is until now. I've now officially joined the *itchy dog club* So at 3:29 you say leave that on for a full 10 minutes??? That might be the most challenging part 🤣🤣🤣. Some dogs are not that patient especially for baths. 🤣 There's no 1 minute miracle formula? Time to collect the anti-itching remedies. Dog spa time.
Can you give any of these to your cat? I have an indoor cat that doesn't have fleas and I've had him on royal cannin analleegenic dry food and he's still itching himself and overgrooming his tummy, my vets don't know what to do with him, he's had full blood work and it came back fine, he's had steroids as well but that didn't seem to work either and I'm scared I will never find out how to help him
It can be related to stress, or a very difficult food allergy. Ask your veterinarian about trying melatonin ( 1mg twice daily), the Quercetin can be safely used, and then consider making your own food ( ie just turkey as a trial for 4 weeks) if these do not help
Can you do a video on dementia in animals? I just had to put my 16 year old tabby down last week. Tiger lived a full and healthy life but dementia had him acting very strangely and it took me a bit to figure out what was wrong with him. But it progressed quickly after I realized it and he came up a herpes disease that he got that was very similar to a cold. I supplemented his food w Lysine and it helped. Not sure if there’s any connection there. But I am sure that stress made the virus he had worse.
my cat suffers with bad allergies. he has been really bad for months now,. the vet usually gives him a shot and frequent antibiotics. the last few times didnt seem to help at all. i have tried everything natural you have suggested to no avail. this cat just wont get better..his sneezing/mucus is so bad now. i have been searching everywhere for anything that would help him..what helps everybody elses cat, just dont work on mine....right now for about 2 months i have been giving him l lysine, and its not really doing anything either...im at my wits end with it and so is he..anything anyone can recommend? ( ive tried nettle, colloidal silver, coconut oil, cbd oil, apple cider vinegar, elderberry, licorice, quercetin to name a few of a long list) want to give him ivermectin (paste) but im not sure of the dose and if it is safe for cats.. is there anything left to do????
My poor poodle pup got really bad allergy from the wet food cesar 😢 He cries when he scratches his ear I’m using coconut oil and apple cider I hope it works
Nothing is going to help until you Stop the junk food and feed natural wholesome food. Most issues are from bad food. You can cook or try Open farm freeze dried raw food or Smallbatch freeze dried raw food or you can order Viva Raw and gently cook the food
I would be careful on the amount of lavender oil. I would half that dose also do a patch test first as you would on a human. As you do in aromatherapy. Some humans are allergic to lavender oils stands to reason this would apply to dogs.
Do you give all these at once ? Our Poor little pug is suffering from on going yeast and allergies for teand rx from the vet is not working ! Please help ! All at once or one supplement at a time ?
