i hate that in the skate community there is such a term as "poser", i hate it. it makes you scared to try or practice or embrace that you're a beginner. nobody can skate right away. it takes a lot of practice, and at first you're gonna look funky, awkward or not very confident, you'll skate slowly, or not know how to do tricks, or just enjoy ocassionally cruising and nothing more. and i hate that you can't just be, without being called a poser just because you're not an expert. that means that a beginner dancer or guitarist or surfer is also a "poser"??? what do you want me to do? not go out and do the thing i enjoy even though i'm not great at it???
One thing I see SO many ppl leave out of instructional skating vids is the NEED FOR SPEED. Sure it isn't 100% necessary to be going fast to be able to simply Ollie over or onto a curb. But you will find time and time again that once you increase your speed and get comfortable with the feeling of momentum, ALL of your ollies and flip tricks will improve drastically. Clearing obstacles becomes no issue, whether it's up a ledge or down a 7 stair, you will find that some extra speed will make the trick SO much easier and manageable. ALSO, once you get comfortable with the momentum and understand how you should 'pop' your board when attempting ollies or flip tricks, the speed and momentum will naturally keep the board under your feet. I'm sure it seems counter intuitive that going faster will give you more control, but in this case is it does. I'm sure everyone has done a oliie or trick whilst barely rolling, and it takes SO much more effort to complete. You will undoubtedly feel immediately the difference when adding speed and momentum to the equation. Trust me and try it and I can GUARANTEE that if you can do kick flips for the most part now, but not very fast, that once you add some speed and momentum and practice you will obtain the most SICK/CLEAN floaty flip tricks ever 👍💪
@@unknownthecat the way I got A LOT more comfortable on my board was just finding a decent gradual hill and just take off pushing. Get used to just cruising a lil faster than you normally go a lil by lil and you will For Sure get more and more comfortable every min you do this. Also spend some time doing fakie and work on power slides to switch to fakie, slow down and stop. You can do it friend!! Just take it slow and as long as you just push yourself out of your comfort zone a lil, you will grow exponentially in the end!! 👍😁
When I was younger I thought a skateboard was like Velcro and sticks to your shoes so when I saw people do tricks like that I wasn’t very impressed because I thought they were just jumping lol😂😂😂
instructions unclear, i just so happened to trip and accidentally booked a flight to hawaii and got a reservation for a 5 star hotel and spent 999999999999999999999999999999999$
