I did an experiment I set up my spice blend popup I sat one day I stood the next time i went Same spot Same foot traffic I sold much more when i stood up as customers walked near When you are sitting People think they're bothering you if you remain seated Remaining seated as they approach acts as a repellant Potential customers also get the impression you're not busy so your product isn't good Its best to look busy cleaning or straightening as people walk by That gives the impression you are preparing for their visit

I don't care what you're into your appearance means a lot to success.

I personally don't like being served food from a scruffy guy with a beard and long hair. It kinda puts me on edge and I just can't shake the idea of one of those hairs ending up in my food. Definitely prefer a clean shaven food server.

I'd have to agree. Mom with 3 hungry kids will keep it moving if you look like a bum. Everyone gives you a once over before they walk up. I do it to this day. Keep'er clean!

I’m about the start a cottage food cart. My mom told me to mention somewhere on a sign that our food is made in a pet free home. My mom will not eat any home based pre made food because she’s afraid people have pets. Many people kiss their pets on the mouth. I love animals, but that would be a turn off if someone was making food with 20 cats helping packaging and labeling food. Dogs licking spoons clean. Birds on the shoulder. Gross.
