I had loads of larvae on my rose bush, and they demolished the greenfly within a week. However, they did not stay around to cocoon, so not sure where they went. I was so looking forward to seeing them transform. Beautiful flowers. ❤️
Was gifted sweet pea seeds from Easton walled gardens in Lincolnshire. So seeing yours almost as tall as you are almost made me weep. Mine are about 7 inches high:( Did everything I was supposed to do, planted after our last frost (in mid May here in my part of Ontario), kept them watered. Yet.....hardly impressive. Another lovely video Georgie, thank you!!
It’s a really tough year for sweet peas - mine were sown October and planted in the tunnel before Christmas - don’t despair you are not alone - my outdoor crop is pathetic xxx
My direct sown sweet peas did better than my transplants.. I find I can sow before the last frost date. And the seeds I direct sowed last fall seemed to have done better despite our long freeze in December (Vancouver BC zone 7b)
Hi Georgie, it's cutting week for me! My daughter's wedding is on Saturday. I've done my spreadsheet a la your brilliant book. I've practiced my posies and floral crown! But I'm getting anxious about the weather. Thursday is showing as thundery showers. So I'm wondering about cutting on Wednesday evening. I don't want my Ammis to be droopy. I have cut and left flowers in buckets for over two nights and they have been fine. What do you advise???? Bearing in mind that I also have to transport everything in buckets on Friday morning....
deff cut weds if forecast cool and wet thurs as you'll be fine - it's only if forecast hot and too sunny that I say waaaait - you'll be fine x good luck and enjoy! x
