Hi, I am in the same boat as you. I’ve been working on RU-vid. I want to be a full time creator so I can get the financial freedom I crave. I want to travel and share my experiences with people. I want to apply what I learned into whatever business adventures I do in the future.

Wow! This makes so much sense. Thank you for this. I started my Channel back in 2020 and have 589 subs. I niched down to making jewellery, charity shop hauls, and also tutorials. My views have dropped, but i am now uploading every Saturday and just going to enjoy making jewellery on camera and see how it goes. I have also anxiety on camera and some of my videos i have been on camera, but recently reverted back to just showing making rather than talking or even showing the charity shop jewellery on camera. But thank you for your video and it has given me that boost to again come out of my comfort zone and enjoy creating even more. Elly.

Man, dont say that you are shy of camera!! In this video, you have done extremely well sans any anxiety. In my case, I desparately wanna get into making YT videos but lack of editing knowledge holding me back for a long while now. Keeping fingers crossed I should start sometime sooner than later and share my passion to the whole world

I am a new youtuber and I like the way that you shared your experiences and the lessons that you've learned. I know it takes a lot of time, effort and mental energy to create a video. It is best to make videos about the things that one likes and then share it with the world. That way, work will not feel like work. 😊 Creating and sharing content that may help people is always rewarding... spiritually and mentally, if not financially.

This resonates so much - the fear of being on camera and looking like an idiot strikes a chord with me. You look and sound great. I have subscribed and hope your channel grows. I have wanted to start a channel for quite some time, fear of looking and sounding stupid, not having anything meaningful to say etc etc etc holds me back. And yet so many people have told me that I have wonderful and exciting stories to share due to my work as a private client lawyer dealing with real-life tragic deaths, family fall-outs and the rest. Just yesterday (again) someone said these I could sell my stories - they are mind-boggling and based in reality.

This meant a lot. I am very introverted as well. Just started my channel about nature and it’s scary to put yourself out there.

Pretty sure this will help a lot of people, me included . I really was motivated and had a lot of ideas on what to talk about, after around 1-2 years I finally started, until then I was too afraid, but when I started I got easily overwhelmed by camera setup, editing, b-roll stock footage, thumbnails and scripts .. and I really got anxious and thought "ok this might be more about setup and scripting ideas but there's no place for my own ideas", even if I knew this might not be true . Videos like this one make me realize it's worth it to keep going, so thank you James !

Wow what a great video. I have been ideating about a second youtub channel Ive been wanting to start, but have felt stuck in perfectionism and imposter syndrome over the content I passionately want to share. Seeing your video made me realize that it doesn't have to be "perfect" and that I don't have to already be "successful" or be an authoirty on the subject that I am wanting to share. I just have to have a little more knowlege, and be a little further down the road on the journey than the person I am sharing with. That is transformational. Thank you. ❤

Great content. It puts into words what I've been doing for a couple of months now. I have a channel, but, no videos and no viewers, no subscribers, yet. (Yes I'm very insecure also.) I'm learning to edit (but, not very far along on that) I have been watching videos about starting up and videos just to see how others do it. No script yet, however, lots of ideas. This week I finally got sound recording to actually work, so .... now I have sound, I have a location and I have a pretty good camera (bought years ago). I am worried about the future and making enough videos that I'll actually make money which creates a whole set of record-keeping and tax issues (along with some tax-reducing practices. since I'm in the US). This is a much needed video. Keep doing them.
