Life is full of ups and downs, without the downs, the ups mean nothing.
The government hospital is about 20 minutes away from us. We're glad it's close by. We brought mom because she had a headache, weakness and severe dizziness.
The doctors said it was nothing serious. And after they took tests, performed an exam and prescribed medication they sent us home.
In the morning we heard a familiar sound echoing throughout the neighborhood. Someone was sawing a tree with a chainsaw. Boria decided to take a look. It turned out that they were sawing coconut trees and cutting them into boards right there.
The coconut tree is called the "tree of life" because all of its parts, from top to bottom, support human life. It is probably the most useful tree in the world. The trunk of the tree is used to make charcoal and lumber for construction, furniture, jewelry and crafts. The bark is used to make paper. And coconuts are used to make oil, shampoo, perfume and more.
I started the laundry. This is a family activity for us, and we often help each other. Boria rinse the laundry and Mom and I hang it out in the sun.
The problem with hand washing is that it takes a long time for clothes to dry. Plus, the weather in the tropics is unpredictable: one minute the sun is shining brightly and the next minute it's pouring rain. Boria and I decided that when we had some extra money, we would buy a washing machine. It will help us a lot and save us time.
Our papaya seedlings are growing by leaps and bounds. And we still don't have our own land to transplant them.
In fact, the growth rate and size of some of the native plants amazes Boria.
He saw on the Internet that papaya can be calibrated and decided to shorten its stems.
The leaves and stems will not go to waste.

Husband and I went to the city of Tagum to get our marriage certificate. This is one of the necessary documents to obtain a spousal visa.
February 16, 2023 is the day our lives changed for the better. Boria and I woke up to a slew of notifications from our English-language RU-vid channel Island life. It turned out that one of our videos had gone viral and was getting a lot of attention.
From a few subscribers, our channel started to grow by the minute. And in just three days we gained 12 thousand subscribers.
Our channel began to monetize, and finally our labors bear fruit. Kind people began to send gifts and donations. With these donations we bought our first washing machine.
When we installed the washing machine, we were relieved. Mom and I will no longer be tired from doing laundry. This is a great accomplishment for us and we are very grateful to you.
We are happy. Filipinos helped us a lot during this difficult time. When we left Russia, all we had was what we had in our suitcases.
There was a time when I was going to quit putting out RU-vid videos and was going to get a job in the city to help. My husband convinced me that we needed to keep going and that one day we would be rewarded.
