Soap was injured he got stabbed by a knife by shepherd in mw2 , So for the injury soap started bleeding alot for bleeding much he couldn't survive that long, Huge lose of blood & couldn't get the treatment
TBH soap was prices alone friend after Nikolai as after the events of MW2 everyone of his military contacts left him ( except MacMillan but he was mostly business)
I always thought the reason why soap died on this part is because ever since shepherd stabbed him near the end of MW2 he was in really bad condition until he got help but when he took the explosion on this mission someone said his wound reopened or something and that’s why he was bleeding a lot
Soap most likely died due to a few reasons. 1. He threw Yuri out but took most of the explosion as he jumped out. 2. If you watch the falling, Soap gets slammed against a scaffolding bar. 3. Rubble falls on him 4. Moving around causes more blood to fall out.
Soap is still recovering from the stab thst general shepherd did in the last mission in mw2 2009, not to mention that soap jumped off multiple stories and had debris crush him, while Yuri had time to recover during the terminal mission flashback, but in the end Price is the only survivor of TaskForce 141 (no the reboot don't count because it's a different story)
If you're look closer. Soap fell and hit the tower wall after jumping from the tower and after throwing Yuri out of the tower. But unfortunately Yuri also hit the tower wall and made soap fall first though Soap threw Yuri first. Maybe this is my opinion that I see why Yuri was able to survive until last mission while Soap didn't and died from a stitched wound that opened due to jumping
theres also the fact that all the permanent damage inside can be a factor. Soap has been through a LOT and all those scars and irreversible damage can take a toll in the long run. weakening your organs and other body parts
soap get s stabbed in the chest on august 16th, he arrives in india a day later to get treated by a doctor who nikolai knows, blood brothers takes place on october 11th so that means he didn't fully recovered and he shouldn t be doing missions but he still goes on them 'cuz Makarov is still at large and the hatred he has won't settle down. anyways soap's wound opened up either when he landed or after the landing when the some construction structures fell on his body.
If you examine it, MacTavish died due to an extreme quantum of blood he lost. The wounds in the previous installments, they could’ve been some small scars that made him bleed for a bit, and diminishing his consciousness and strength. Plus he managed to get remedy in time. And the wound in the chest, that was not just about losing blood, it was a matter of oxygen. It hurts in the damaged lung when u inhale. And there he managed to get time for himself to heal and repose. But this time in Prague, he got a serious laceration in his hip. And it was easy for blood to fall out from the flesh. He was strong soldier with great perseverance, endurance, durability and strength. But when u loose that much blood, it’s no chance u would survive. Btw, do not ask me how I know about the lung thing.
0:09 Soap died because of Shepherd's stab that he received in MW2 OG, then he pushes Yuri, as he falls from the building his wounds open and the scar opens. That's why he didn't survive the explosion.
In my vision, Yuri survive because, when Makarov shoots him, the wounds had time to heal and not open again, and any part of tower fall on him. Soap die, because the wounds after the Shepard fight don't heal complete and a part of tower fall on him, make the wounds open.
i think there is also the blast radius to consider when soap push yuri out and jump out of the tower i think the blast also hit soap but falling through the debris is also a factor too
Soaps injuries never fully recovered from the shepherd incident. If you pay attention to the dates all this happened in just a couple of short months, wounds like those take longer to heal. Soap was also way closer to the explosion impact then yuri was, yuri wasn't effected by the explosion just the fall. Soap was impacted by both. Also when he fell he didn't hit more then 1 plank. He hit the the first plank then hit the construction metal and fell through the construction open space straight down. then debri landed on him with multiple concrete blocks hitting him which might have opened his wounds again. Either that or the explosion opened it since he was so close to impact. They fell from a clock tower so thats a pretty long fall for soap. Yuri had cushion since he hit a couple of planks before falling from the construction work.
You should also consider the fact that they had to walk a long way to the resistance base to get medical support for Soap, but it was obviously too late. Soap lost a ton of blood by the time you get to the base, and there was nothing anyone could really do anymore.
irl it would be an open wound because he got hit by that explosion or his past injuries but I'd bet it would be an open gut wound due to the explosion.
Soap pretty much shielded yuri from the blast of the explosion and took shrapnel as well. Even if he lived he wouldn’t have been able to walk ever again

soap took blast dmg from the explosion that mostlikely cracked his spine or close to something this bad meanwhile yuri was thrown by soap early enough be4 the c4 exploded so soap took the damage from the blast and for hitting the ground (that led mostlikely internal bleeding and/some other injuries getting opened cuz that) but yes case closed hope this was helpfull sorry if its not 100% accurate its been so many years since i played og mw series
first C4 right on it second Yuri had the scaffolding to break his fall but soap fall from the top to the bottom of the church third he get buried under rubble
Soap was closer to the bomb and the explosion, and while Yuri hit alot if things on his way down, which would break his fall abit, Soap more or less just flew out of the tower head first

im here to note that soap hit those metal rods while falling, making his innjury even worse. While Yuri hit those wooden planks which did slow down his fall. And i think that is why we see soap already there when Yuri stops falling.

From what i have played and watched cod og and the remastered, i can say 2 things 100% sure explain why yuri alive while soap is not: 1. In yuri case, indeed he was shot a desert eagle and we all know how broken this gun is and depend on which of type of bullet the gun makarov using as well, but if we look closely makarov shot yuri in the abadoment which later on at the air port, he was still alive but for a short moment and then passed out due to heavy bleeding but not enough to cause death. Later he was found by the medical units then they confirm he was still alive, this is also confirmed that he was indeed shot in the abadomen, not the chest. Because if it were in the chest, yuri would die instantly. 2. For Soap, after Shepard stab in his chest and later on we all see that he was treating his wound at the chest as well, but lucky for soap, the stab was not in direct to his heart, if it was he would die after few seconds before price come to stop shepard from finishing him off. So which part of the chest he got stab you asked? From what i see is his right lung, very near to his heart but the thing is, the woud is so great and need a lot of time to heal. I guess about 6 months to a year but soap keep doing his mission, which result in the explosion of the clock tower, while he falling he did not land on enough wooden board to minimize the damages of the fall which in case of yuri is 100%, the wound from the stab of soap had treated is now re opened which made him die out of bleeding. Main Reasons #1 Lacking recovery from the stab wound caused by Shepherd #2 Getting literally hit by the explosion. #3 hits himself more and way severely during the drop than Yuri. #4 Having an entire concrete piece fallen into him. #5 Bleeding out for way too long
in the Russian they came to attack and the next mission the hello down shepherd push a knife in the middle of the spine causes a lot of bleed and injuries
i for a really long time had assumed he had his femoral artery nicked in the explosion/fall but after someone told me the theory that it's actually the wound from MW2 that got torn back open during the fall that makes way more sense.
heres 2 more he pushed us but when he jumped he got damaged by explosion and when we are falling we can see soap is hitted his head to a pipe he hits here 0:21
Scenario 2: If Yuri dies in an explosion instead of Soap, it will not pop Yuri's flashbacks even though Soap tells the truth to Price about the relationship between Makarov and Yuri without knowing their background story..
It's not because of rubble falling on him, or hitting anything, it's probably because shrapnel was sent into him from the explosion. if you look closely, he literally throws yuri out and saves him by absorbing the sharpnel. Due to the limited graphics of the time, and also because of CODs lack of good graphics (compared to other games) is probably why we don't see a wound visible. I thought it was because he was impaled by rebar originally, however, we clearly do not see any pieces of rebar in him. The most likely reason is probably because shrapnel, which caused the wound to open back up.
Soap never received propper medical care after being stabbed by Shepard. They just went to a surgeon who got killed during the operation and were on the run the entire time. No recovery time or medical to get the wound properly healed. Yuri got top notch medical care from Moscow as they wanted to question him. They probably had him in a come for awhile and thats why Russia didnt know the truth till they were already comitted and too embarassed to admit the truth. Soap wouldve also got great medical care for his wounds the other times he was wounded
Soap did die because of his injury in the chest as he didnt really had Time to heal properly, the fall must've caused internal bleeding Yuri did survive the gunshot because he was found just in Time, was probably Taken to an hospital and given proper medical atention
price mightve killed yuri because when yuri told price his backstory with makarov, didnt price say "youre good for now" or sm like that? edit: price would wait for yuri to finish murdering makarov before he kills yuri
@@zacariajadayel5072 that wouldn t happen if yuri was still alive, you quoted price's last words in blood brothers/soap's death mission, he was very angry about the fact that yuri could have actually been a spy the whole time working for Makarov and already managed to kill soap, when price said "you're good, for now" I can feel anger and distrust in his voice and that s the only thing he could've said. Back to my argument Price actually cared for Yuri, it might not be shown in stronghold/the very next mission after soap's death but he realises that he can t do it alone, in the diamond mine in Siberia at end of the mission yuri almost dies to an rpg, the very same way that soap was about to die in the COD short film in the Kingfish OP; Price screams "Yuri!" indicating that Price still sees him as an ally/comrade and helps him, we get to see more of price's caring side in the last mission, "Watch yourself Yuri, your armor is gone" *yuri helps price to strip his armor down, yuri's durability resembles soap's too much* and finally when the chopper used rockets to take down the restaurant and yuri got injured in the process, price was about to help him and leave Makarov at large again, but yuri is the one that reminds him of his goal, why did so many people die and who s responsible for all of it.
No. If Price wanted Yuri dead, he would've killed Yuri when he punched him down the stairs. Plus, a bond of some sort has been established between Price and Yuri in the last few missions of the game. Like when Yuri almost got blown up and couldn't walk back to the chopper when they were rescuing the president or in the last mission where Yuri was impelled with that piece of scrap that was sticking out. Yuri had to tell Price to go and not let Makarov escape. And then when Yuri pretty much Saved Price and got killed himself, that was the last straw for Price. Every punch afflicted on Makarov was completely personal. He was already dealing with the lose of Ghost, Roach, Sandman, Truck, Grinch, Gaz, and Soap. Then he got triggered by losing the one person he had left, Yuri. Which got him to finally finish off Makarov.
