Scott Glover, Matt Bongers and Frank Glover Jr. brought their Howard 250 into Business Jet Center to see me on their first trip since the Howard came out of restoration. I can't tell you how much I appreciate these guys bringing the only flying Howard 250 into my work at Business Jet Center. They truly are a class act.

That would be fantastic! I'll be looking forward to that! I truly believe this might be the single most beautiful plane in the world right now. Amazing paint! Flying as a pax with those massive bay windows must really be spectacular!

Everything about that airplane says, "I want to go fast and look incredible doing it." I don't know why I only expected it to look that good on just the outside. That rustic leather and a nice panel too!

I knew that airplane when it was tan & gold at Dee Howards facility back in 1975. I was working flight line and serviced it. It was very impressive looking but a bitch to service. Fuel tanks were on top of the wing about 20 ft. high and combine a 25 mph wind and away you go. Many times I flew in the tail dragger versions but never the tri gear.

I got to visit that airplane when my dad and I stumbled upon his museum one hot Texas afternoon. On the day we went out they had just started installing the A/C so it was pretty near completion. Beautiful aircraft. Great to see her all out back together.

This is most beautiful Lockheed ever built. If more would have been converted to this tricycle configuration back in the 60s, they would still be flying today. I wish I was there to here and smell those Pratt & Whitneys. Thanks for posting this.

My last Aircraft was a 1956 Cessna 310B. My Flying ended in 1972 when it acquired a main spare fracture, ending its flying days and mine as well. Keep posting fantastic videos like this one, for the old timers sake.

Somebody took a Connie and put her in the dryer. One of the only nosedragger conversions that looks good. Beautiful Ship! I would love to put a 1525 horse 1820, square tip paddle blade reversible prop on an AN-2. I have a chance to get one and that would be a sweet aero camper conversion.

I prefer turbo-prop for performance and reliability, but it is hard to beat the beautiful sound of those radials!

T Abel Only concerted 4 into the Howard 250’s. Two crashed and one is so far gone won’t fly again. This one is last one

ErikJohnston Thanks for the reply. As soon as I posted, I noticed the "only flying Howard 250" in the video description, so i quickly changed the comment. It's a shame Howard converted so few. Very unique plane, with timeless looks. Especially considering the age and history of the original Model 18's. The looks held up. That's for sure. And if I remember correctly, only 2 of the 17 true HA500's are left. Very sad.

Martha Vaughan very cool. I live in fresno and spend a lot of time in the mountains, and from time to time hear the story of the Drug running Howard that crashed outside of Yosemite.
