Numan fan here. I grew up listening to and loving late 70s and early 80s electronic music and only now appreciate how good Howard Jones was and most importantly is...shame on me! I am now a big fan....better late than never.
Just saw him live and it was AMAZING! Such a great showman too. Very funny stories between songs. He was just so happy and you could tell he loves his job :)
In 1984 I saw one of his concerts on TV in Venezuela, and was impressed by his energy, like a month later I was browsing on the LPs they had on a closing store and I saw it, Human´s LIb, bought it and still have it, it was the first Vinyl I bought ever! Thanks Howard for everything!
All you chumps saying things about age, I'm 38 & people half my age can't do 1/4 of Howard's performance! I still love him! Matter of fact, he only got better.. with age! This look suits him. His hair scared me in the 80's video, lol, but went with the times, lol! This is better!!
just imagine if "new labour" had chosen this song instead of "d-reams" same title- (around 12 years earlier would have made sense for mr Kinnock in his election strategy wouldn't it?!!!)- instead this song is for ed milliband- good luck mate!!!
howard jones here- proving that the intervening years have been only better for his bank balance and his waistline!!!- (that shirt went out around about 1986 pal!)
sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone-that was just a joke- I really like the artist and his songs cos I grew up in the eighties- (b.t.w.- there must be an artist you would like to make fun of, that's all it is, fun!)
LFOVCF-hi lfovcf; by the way I didn't write that feeling "smug" just my sense of humour- again I respect the singer... hes the one who could feel smug because hes earned the right to...-no call politicians "smug" cos that's what most of them are...
Sounds great but as bass player that knows that line perfectly, I hate when they use a pre recorded bass line that is obviously the lead melody of the song they could have sprung for a real bass player and less pre recorded tracks. This why DJ's are taking over the live music business.
