Howard now eternally grateful his mom called while he’s on a date.

They didn’t show where they were picking up Bernadette where Howard said “so tell me about the future mother of my children”. That aged like fine wine!!

I was always impressed with how Penny had the patience to wait out the lull in conversation until Howard and Bernadette finally found what they had in common. (She and Bernadette were coworkers. She MUST have known that Bernie had an overbearing mother just like Howard.) Most people (myself included) would try to nudge them into that direction, but she just let it play out naturally, even as Leonard was wondering why she would choose this girl for Howard.

Gotta give it to Howard, he doesn't give up. I'd be done after 5 minutes if so much.

Good Job Penny, these two are soulmates.

Bernie was always pretty and smart. yes, they went overboard with her being mean to Howard and others later on, and maybe too dominating, but that was also part of the joke 'her being like Howard's mother' and often it was very funny, so it didn't bother me this much. Overall, Howard & Bernadette for me were still a cute couple. Maybe not the best, but ok. Bernie & Howard ended up having a great family, a beautiful daughter, and a son, and they were happy, so they ended up miles better than Leonard and Penny who became more miserable after the wedding.

When Howard said his mom calls him to see if he had a healthy bowel movement, I would’ve said seriously “Howard we’re trying to eat here”

No annoying Bernie voice.

This is when Bernadette was likable, she talked normal, wasn't emasculating, was still pretty and smart

This was before Bernadette's voice got all high pitched. I think this is the only time we hear it low pitched.

Melissa Rauch was still developing the character here along with the writers. All these comments that her voice was better and less annoying. Guys….she was supposed to be annoying! The squeakier voice tweak and unpredictable personality is what made her fit in better with the group. They were all quirky and had the flaws of your typical outcasts.

I think her bad attitude stems from her stress of being a mother and her pharmaceutical job. I can relate to that

One pact with Leonard, and Howard met his wife and became a father to two children.

Who would have thought that would be the beginning of a perfect union

And from this moment on Howard’s life was never the same again

Bernadette had tremendous promise as a character. It's a shame that the writers forgot the dinner scene when they decided it would be funny to turn her into Howard's mother.

Penny: Am I a match maker or what? Me: Oh yeah, Penny? You should see Howard and Raj. How they set Sheldon up with Amy and look what happened! They outshined you!!

I get the premise was to turn Bernadette into Howard's mother, but his mother was never mean. That was the difference between the two. Bernadette was intolerable in later seasons, and I never understood why anyone would want her around. She took a lot of pleasure in embarrassing and belittling Howard. She dragged down every scene she was in.

Only thing in common, they both hate their mothers.

Shame what Bernadette became. She was okay at first and a little character development was good, but she got so much worse. Did anyone notice how UGLY PALE both Rauch and Cuoco became? It was a sign of how depressing, negative, and toxic the show had become.

Why couldn't she keep her original voice like this throughout the series? Why did she have to fake her voice in an annoying way for such a long period?
