My daughter plays clarinet and we would listen to HBCU bands on whether the woodwind section was relevant or not. Often times we are disappointed by the over emphasis of brass. Maybe we're selfish and don't understand open air performances and projection of sound. 🤷🏿♂️
@@xy4209no other bands like the jukebox is well discipline and levels out the sounds the brass back ups the wood winds carries and the percussion just doesn't lead it describes the band sounds for them and to the crowd... It's rather complex
Just Lookin I’m glad you realized that but I’m in a sophomore in a small high school band and I’ve been taillight it’s not l about the numbers which is one thing I go by in the band
being from Atlanta, we were never exposed to Howard's band, just FAMU, Cookman, Jackson State, Bama State and Southern. Howard sounds good I need to watch them more.
@@Adoremayalee yes. they're probably the most well know show style high school band. I went to high school in Clayton County we never went against them though
I’m Ocean of Soul alumni and I always thought we had the best arrangement of skin I’m in, Southern 2nd (argue with God 😂) but bruhhhh Howard killed this hoes
@@demarrodgers8725 I had the recording years ago and lost it. I marched at DSU and a lot of my former hs classmates from bmore were in showtime in that time period and on the recording.
Another CAMEO political protest joint from the 80’s. This sounds amazing. Tubas and T-Bones are carrying this. Screaming demons are giving this incredible life.
Henry Williams Sounds to me like as far as brass and winds it's gotta be a minimum of between 30 and 50 players. I'm listening at the Sousas and that, to me, is 3 to 4 dudes. If they used any more than that I'm impressed! That bass line is hella tight, hella in tune, and they synced up like Siamese twins. But with that said the entire brass and winds are hella synced!
well written tune, but it's dragging. put you to sleep for a 4 and a half minute piece. Intro too long, accurate to specifics of the original but how you leave off the end? the best part of the song.
