Well Paul Giamatti was NOT the Program Director for WNBC in the first place he's the actor Private Parts NOT NBC. He acted Pissed off at Stern because your job as a Program Director was to monitor Stern making sure that he wasn't doing something he's NOT supposed to do Over the Airwaves. If he did, FCC would be ALL over Ass in a Heartbeat. They will have your head served on Silver Platter... Maybe impaled on a Pike depending on Circumstances.
Love him or hate him, you have to respect and admire the career behind Howard. The guy has had a radio career that has lasted for 28 years, and made every station he has worked for number one in the market. He has also written two books, both of which were New York Times Bestsellers, and one of which was made into a movie. Besides a Radio career he has also had a successful movie and television career. His movie actually made several celebrities either famous or brought even more fame. Mary McCormick and Paul Giamatti are two examples. Hell, Allison Janney was shortly there after brought in for her role a C.J. Cregg in the hit show West Wing, which went on for about six seasons. Then when Howard moved to Sirius, which was on its last leg and about to be crushed by XM, he came in and turned the tides of fortune towards Sirius. Forced a merger between the two companions to the point there is only one Satellite Radio company, Sirius XM. We have seen the power of the Stern Show. You do not have to like the man, but you haave got to give credit where credit is due.
Yea, but what if you don't like him and you don't want to give him credit where it's due. When is his credit due anyway? Can I make payments? Does Howard take direct deposit? (Yo Mama does!)
I was just graduating college during this time. In the summer of 1985 a new station came on the air called K-Rock. Shockingly he signed to this classic rock format for the 2-6pm shift. He was great and this, in my opinion, is his prime. When he went on K-Rock, he would bring his young child on the air and say "now who fired daddy, remember him, he held you in his hands, yea thats who fired daddy...". K-Rock was very cutting edge to allow a talk radio who is really meant for AM radio formats to be a classic rock station. Stern would go on to bash NBC and regularly bash the executives there. Later he would do the morning drive time. Thats when I stopped listening to him, I just cant handle him in the AM hours. Then he became syndicated.
Stern has been more successful than anyone in the history of broadcast radio. Despite what your personal feelings may be regarding his show, the results speak for themselves.
It’s easy to make a moron laugh, which is why his material is the epitome of banality. It’s easy to keep a herd of low-IQ, low expectation having sheep entertained for five hours five days a week. Let’s see him do that with people who have two brain cells to rub together that aren’t easily amused by fart jokes, porn stars in the studio, and prejudice baiting.
@@FingerBreakerWu he's richer , funnier , more successful , taller , probably more handsome than you , and you're a Virgin, you're a bug compared to him
*....In 2019 Howard Stern is still in Broadcasting Earning over One Hundred Million dollars per year!! Do any of the Broadcasters Hating in this Video Come Close to Stern's Success....?*
"I got fired, why can't he get fired?". I don't know champ, were you able to bring in millions of dollars for your company or were you just flipping burgers? I'd start there.
Howard Stern returned bigger and better. I am watching this April 20, 2022. I was never a fan, but I have listened every now and then just to know what the hype was about. He appeals to a certain demographic audience, so I can see it. I hated Rush Limbaugh...can't stand him, but Howard is certainly more likeable and relevant.
@@dawzavelithedon6882 30 years of seeking self actualization through psychotherapy has turned him into grandpa. The only thing funny about the show are the Whack Pack bits and those are all rehashed anyway. At least we don't have to hear about Ronny's pathetic sex life as much. Interviews and music guests only keep me around these days.
I mean when you listen to this it's almost art. Howard MASTERFULLY deflected any questions about his show's content, and he had the whole backstage crew laughing at these "vulgar" questions like "Are you a homosexual". King of all media.
I loved Kaity in her early years with WABC, always smiling with those gorgeous looks. Howard had a funny line "Hey Kaity, what are you wearing a kimono?". After several years she toned it down a bit, but is still as pretty as ever. Timeless beauty.
ive been watchig all these clips of Howard from the 80's and people being interviewed on the streets....has anyone noticed how many more skinny people there were? we have all turned into fat pigs...
agreed. i live in NY and tons and tons of fat people all over the place. i dont know what to do anymore. sometimes i scream and little hunks of fat comes off people and they say thank you but thats not very often. help !
@Hooah1984 ,i have never found the show funny after Jakie left the show !!! I did not know Jackie wrote alot or most of Howards material until Jackie left the show !!
LOL! No you didn't. You experienced the beginning of everything becoming shitty. There was no "good stuff" left when you were finally old enough to know what "good stuff" was.
One of a kind this Howard Stern. I love his personality. So honest, down to earth does not hold back any thing. His the only one I now that has the savy to have an entertainig so called "Shock Radio" show. His show is legendary. Ba Ba Booey, all you haters!!!!.
@TheAngeltoDemon Yep USA became a bunch of Fat Buckets but I keep myself in shape work out lift weights eat right and stay trim looks like us trim people are in the few now a days its sad.
I'm a late 20 something who grew up as a Howard fan, but have been a die hard O&A fan since 98. Why is it always one or the other, just because the 2 shows don't like each other?
The crew members laughing are the real audience, Howard was the only one back then to realize. Make real folks laugh and the corporation sponsorship will come, screw being safe and PC.
how ironic is it that this vid starts with old crocidile imus saying he got fired---considering what happenned to him on 4/12/07, that had to make stern's year
