I wish Howard would own more stuff like this, all the Daniel Carver bits, guess the Jew, black jeopardy, etc instead of just denying it. When confronted by “woke” people, he should just say “yeah, I did it.. I’m a shock jock, and it was funny”. Everybody tries to be offended over every little thing. Anybody with a brain can tell that these bits aren’t meant to be taken seriously. Say what you want about Howard Stern but it’s one of the only shows where you could have a grand wizard of the kkk, the westboro Baptist church, several Jews, blacks, gays and the mentally/physically handicapped in one room and see everyone laughing. It’s almost as if comedy closes the gap between our differences but people today would rather take offense instead of laugh
@@Dukethedaywalker Of course it is. Ask a black person , and show them the context. To date they have interviewed Blacks, Asians, and Native Americans and shown them identical content that White Liberals said was unacceptable, not a single one thought ill of it. You keep instilling absolute lies into minorities heads because you are so privileged and guilty for some reason. You just refuse to stop ascibinga bad intent where there is none. Do you know that super clean comics like Seinfeld refuse to play colleges ever again. What people like you fail to see is that "Comedy" is 98% at the expense of someone or something. That is what comedy is , but if after every single joke, some White Liberal groans in protest, you literally wipe the smiles off of people's faces, and why ? Are you really so damaged by brainwashing that you can't stop?
Oh really? I wonder if you'll still say that bullshyt if it was a black man with a gas chamber mask. I really wonder if the Jewish community will think it's funny. Somehow, a black face is funny to you. Piece of sh>t
The fact that they were so outspoken and comfortable with being themselves are the key reasons they were able to co exist so well. Today everyone's so afraid of their own shadow that you'll be fortunate to hear a talk show host be raw and tell you how they really feel about issues.
My mom used to work with Petey Greene with his nonprofit. Back when I was in high school I belonged to the IBM prep Club they were looking for a celebrity to come in and talk to our group. Since my mom knew Peaty I said do you think you can ask him to come to the IBM HQ and talk to our vroup. OMG I have never seen so many white people fall over themselves to welcome someone especially a black man in 1975 like they did with Peaty. He came and talked about his aunt and other things and he was so entertaining and I just want to say Peaty thank you so much for taking time to come and talk to our group at Falls Church High School in Falls Church Virginia
I grew up in Herndon and lived there for nearly 30 years. That entire area, now called DMVA, is packed with far-left extremist communist self-hating whites so your anecdote is not surprising whatsoever. In fact, in Maryland there's a youtube video of about 50 white boomers all bowing on the ground to a black person and begging for forgiveness and apologizing for the behavior of a small handful of specific individuals in the past, who they aren't even related to.
He inspired people to keep it 100% honest from their perspective. Bring what people speak about everyday in their neighborhood or the bar to the forefront and create intellectual dialog about it.... Sounds like what Hip Hop used to be
I’ve been a Stern Fan for 35+ yrs. I don’t know how PD was able to call in to the show, but it was fire! Absolute chaos on board. Different time I guess...it was good to be alive! ♥️🤍💙
WOW!!! petey was RAAAAAAAWWW!..lol Yeh i had to do some homework after watching that Don cheedle flick "Talk to me"... petey was really somethin...i see where Howard and some other shows get their ballsy style from now
Radio DJs kept it real back in the day: Imhotep Gary Byrd was "the 17 year old Monster on WUFO Buffalo following others with roots or impactful community tirs: Frankie Crocker, Butterball in Philly, Eddie O'Jay & so many more.
Petey Greene: _"I'll tell it to the young, I'll tell it to the old. I'll tell it to the hot, I'll tell it to the cold. I don't want no laughin', I don't want no cryin', and most of all, no signifyin'. This is Petey Greene's Washington."_
@Alan Morris Lol. I love it! Petey spoke raw truth, and that is one of the reasons he isn't mentioned much, anymore. I love his story. I love his truths and I love the movie "Talk To Me".
Tell it to the hot, tell it to the old, tell it the young, tell it to the old, don't want no laughin', don't want not cryin', but most of all no signifyin'... AHHH! now sit back and groove to Petey Greene's Washington!
@awsnapson...Truth does not always come with care givers nor is it always popular. That said; someone does care and they are most likely the people that you really look up and go to for meaningful advice.
There is a difference between racism and provoking thought for people through controversy and humor. Which they both do very well. most people are to shallow and close minded today to see the difference or even come close to that conclusion.
I really thought that Howard Stern in Petey Greene's show was spliced or something. I guess it's the way the camera is placed and it seems like it was edited.
LOL...I miss that time period becuase now everyone is just so PC. I mean even for that time, Petey and Howard were over the top, but now they would get deported from the country for this type of interview. In private we all speak and behave in this manner so unless we can openly laugh at our differences, how will we ever learn to appreciate them?
The thing is though how do you know if someone is joking or just plain insulting you? Making over the top jokes is a way to get away with racism and saying harmful stuff. We all say racist stuff from time to time and make racist/mean/messed up jokes but are they really jokes? Ain't they just a way to get something of your chest without worrying about being labeled a racist or bigot?
Wow thanks for posting Petey! We used to watch him every Sunday night on channel 20 in DC...hilarious...but a lot of truth in some of the things he says, at least he will say what he thinks and damn the PC police. I remember when Howard was just a local on WWDC-FM, he did some rank stuff back then too...like calling National Airport and asking how much a one way ticket was to the 14th street bridge...right after that terrible plane crash...that was cold...Howard's an asshole...
@1KillaSkrilla1 I did tape a couple of shows, but they are gone now. :( Before I had a VCR I also taped a few shows using a handheld audio cassette recorder...hardest part of that was trying not to laugh during the show cause that ended up on the tape too...
Why is it that very few people understand that this low-brow humor and common man's banter is what decays a society's chances to achieve greatness. Being obnoxious in the face of social grace doesn't make you revolutionary nor anything special. It only shows that you'll do anything for the attention that you're obviously starving for... How do you like my "shocking" contrast to the trite drivel exchanged between two modern day minstrels...?
How can you be a detriment when you speak the truth? He spoke the truth. The detriment is you and those like you. Who lack the ability to mine the truth from what you you clearly can't understand outside of your stilted intellect.
Yo!... did anybody else peep how huge Robin Quiver's breast were when she was young. I read on Wikipedia that she had a breast reduction. But I had no idea she was packing like that. She was a cutie.
Then so does the truth... Petey Greene was an extremely vocal member of the permanent underclass... and his core values may be entertaining to a few but detrimental to all...
How can you be a detriment when you speak the truth? He spoke the truth. The detriment is you and those like you. Who lack the ability to mine the truth from what you you clearly can't understand outside of your stilted intellect.
Lmfaoo me too and I’m cracking up because when rev introduced him he wouldn’t say the name of his tv show ..he wa like yes and he has a show in Washington and he is on that show Lmaoo..he was like y’all Ain’t finna get me lmaoo
Can't get rich off of your slave name but you can obviously get rich off of slave behaviour... "Who taught you to hate yourself?..." Add Petey Greene to the answer to question first posed by Malcom X...
Do you think the lands of America were empty when Europeans came? Seriously?!? There were CIVILIZATIONS here well before that. They didn't have the latest and greatest technology but they had culture, they practiced agriculture, hunted, traded, some were advanced astronomers and equal to or better than those from Europe, they had counting systems, construction design and material practices, written language, and skills that were unique to this continent. And you want to talk genocide? Really?!?
And here I am with a European last name but most of my ancestory traces back to Africa and North America. Now how the hell did that happen? I wonder...
Damn, I could have shown he did. I guess that's another "urban legend" story...I sure am not saying he did make that call, but others I know swore he did. I thought he got suspended...maybe that was just for talking about doing it...that would have been pretty cold, even for Howard Stern. Well I still don't care for Stern, but that's just my opinion...I can't say he's an asshole if he didn't make that call though. Thanks for clarifying that.
