Samuel jeriko .B Well what about Fox's Daredevil they fucked up the character too but Marvel got the rights and did him awesome on Netflix and made everyone forget about the movie. I think since Howard will be in the Guardians sequel, they should do shorts of him and Rocket together with Groot so people can get to know the REAL Howard (from the comics) then finally a Netflix TV-MA live-action/animation combo show with Howard animated in 2D animation and everyone flesh and blood like Roger Rabbit/Son of Zorn meets Deadpool plus have James Gunn as one of the writers and executive producers since he is a fan of the comics and be faithful to the original and new comics. Afterall audiences did accepted a talking raccoon and a 4th wall breaking anti-hero.
I loved this movie. I don't care what the haters say. It's the best "bad" movie the 80s had to offer. It's funny, full of trailblazing special effects, the soundtrack is kicking, and Lea Thompson is the hottest 80s rocker ever.

Did you know he is a Marvel character and did you see his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy? i think Marvel Studios should do a new cable show based on Howard as it can be Deadpool meets Alf. Lea's 21 year old daugther Zoey should play Beverly and Sacha Baron Cohen can be Ringmaster. Wouldn't that be cool?
Yeah, I saw his cameo. Speaking of ALF, there is a rumor of an ALF film. I just have 2 conditions: 1) no CGI ALF, make him a puppet. 2) don't go overboard with special effects.

What's terrifying is that they could make this canon with the MCU. The Collector abducted Howard from Earth, and then he returns and joins the Denfenders (as he did in the comics), and get a reboot!
I love this film, I used to crap my pants when the Dark Overlord appears. I was about nine years old at the time. Though I used to fast forward to the big song at the end. Yes,I said fast forward, mum had recorded it on the VCR in the 1990s . I miss the old days, where you can record films from the tv. Then over right then when you watched it so many times. Lea Thompson is one beautiful babe of her time.
Many of my dear friends worked on this film. So it’s fun for me to watch… I’d love to see an MCU reboot. The original comic had such great writing and story arcs…
This is one of my childhood movies and i dont care what anyone says i love it and so do my kids. Everyone i have talked to about this movie has liked it and Ed Gale thank you for being the master of quack fu and bringing howard to us. Everytime i watch this movie and it gets to the end song i always turn it up and my kids and i sing along to it

It's always been my theory that the movie has its reputation because: half the audience went expecting a kid-friendly film full of cartoon antics on a par with Daffy or Donald. They left very unhappy at the quasi-adult tone of the film. The other half of the audience were fans of the comic book. They left very unhappy because it didn't have the cutting satire they'd come to expect in the comic. Only a handful of people without expectations were entertained.
Howard wearing almost exactly what Marty Mcfly wore when he did Johnny B. Goode - and even emulated most of his dance. Lea was in both movies; and Howard was filmed a year after BTTF. Nice homage?
I was 6 when this movie came out in 1986. I fuckin loved this movie. There was NONE of this "This movie is terrible" ANYWHERE that I ever seen until the internet said so. EVERYBODY loved this movie back then. I've watched this movie a hundred times in the 80's.
I think maybe that one scene where Howard and Beverly almost do each other sent a lot of parents groups into conniptions. Imagine if they actually tied the knot; Jerry Falwell might've spontaneously combusted.

I was 9. I marked the HBO guide and watched this film every chance I had. Lea Thompson was my first crush. I was obsessed with her and obsessed with this movie. I even set up my tape recorder and recorded the ending scene and credits. I listed to it constantly.

Saw this movie way back.... never laughed so hard all through a movie. Good movie to see when you're drunk or stoned. That's about it, a good movie to laugh at.

Well it was made in a time when Marvel was just licensing their products to other studios before making their own studio in 2007 where they are in control of their properties on film/TV and do you think Marvel can do better with a Howard cable show with a TV-MA rating and can be Deadpool meets Alf and Sunny in Phildelphia?
The creator of the HtD comics haaaaaaaated this movie. All the duck-world and puns? None of that was in the comics. He eventually built a duck world in his comics, but the stuff in here wasn't his, and the story in the movie had nothing to do with the satirical content of his comics. This is definitely not representative of Marvel Comics, just like it's not really representative of George Lucas. Actually, maybe it IS representative of George "Jar Jar Binks will be a hit with the kids" Lucas...
This movie was horrible AND I LOVE IT! To me it's so bad that it's good. I love movies that can pull that off. Some people just can't understand the comedy.
