We love these and I sometimes put chopped onions in mine, my brother loves them. Thanks for your videos. I listened to you on the radio this morning. You are awesome!
Love your videos! I didn't grow up in the South, but Mr. Hoyt & Ms. Suzy remind me of my grandparents, and how much love they had for good cooking and sharing it with others. Warms my heart, and can't wait to try your recipes. I'll be making a purchase from your website soon! Best wishes from Portland!
My mom made these for us all the time as kids and once she became a restaurant owner she would make them then too! She would add garlic powder and onion powder...in hers...they were amazing!! Add some white soup beans with ham, pickle beets, some green onions....my goodness!!! I sure miss my momma's cookin!!! .....Kathy
Pa Hoyt and Ma Suzy, ya'll let me know when I can come for supper. ps, I made your chicken and dumplings exactly as your recipe calls for and they are deeeeeelishous!
I always use cast iron also, most of mine is over 70 yrs old. We will be selling our home and retiring to live in an RV. My husband told me I have to keep it light on weight, I ask him what about my skillet’s..... he said how else would we cook. What a man, almost as sweet as Mr Hoyt. My son in law makes all my wooden utensils and I love them. God Bless you both, keep on cooking.
Can you use left over mashed potatoes to make this or do you have to use fresh? More times than not I will have mashed potatoes left over and never know what to do with them. I hate to waste food.
