Hi, there is a valve in the aquastop connectors that is not in normal ones so when you push it down to disconnect an accessory and attach a new one, it temporarily stops the water flowing through it. Hope this helps!
Mainly, it stops water coming out from the end of the hose; but it doesn't stop the water at the tap - that just leaks everywhere from all the other connections.
Can the pressure of water prevent water coming out of the aqua stop connector as water gets to the reel without it. We just bought new ones and still no joy.?
I have a red clip, it’s on the watering end of my hose. But when I turn the tap on, it stops the water coming out of the hose all together and it just builds up and disconnects cos the water pressure in the hose is too high. Any idea how I fix this? Thanks
I would recommend soaking the hose in warm water to dislodge any debris which may be in the hose , another thing I could recommend is a new connector, as it may just be a faulty connector instead of hose.
The connector leaks, do you know how to stop it? When I turn the tap on the water flows through the tap connector but when I attached the aqua stop connector to the tap connector, water flows out at the top? Thanks
Make sure the hose is fully inserted into the aqua stop connector. If it continues then call whoever you bought it from or Hozelock themselves as it could be a faulty one.
The little valve inside the connector may be faulty. Try putting your finger inside the connector whilst there is slow flow of water and see if the water flows out (don't point at your face!)
So which end do I put on the tap and which end goes on spray gun end as I do no have that brand of connectors mine are leaking wen I turn on my tap I have a malw and female one has a cross thread inside and one is just open which allows the water to flow threw easily which I suspect goes at my tap end but its has water leaking from it wen I turn tap on my hose isnt expensive winter maybe I need to invest in a better hose and connectors
Hi, the cross thread connectors normally connect to taps. It could be that it's the wrong BSP size for your tap which is causing it to leak. If you measure the diameter of the tap and then make sure the diameter of the connector matches, if it still leaks then there could be a fault with it. The male end should be able to connect into your spray gun but it's hard to say without seeing them. If you want more help then you can send us photos of what you have on Facebook messenger and we can try to figure it out from there. Hope this helps and you get it working :)
All I want to know is how to STOP the leak inside the hose reel!! It's a brand new hose. I've taken it apart twice and it still leaks. Arghhh I shall be taking it back.
Hi, looking at the ones we sell, this should be a suitable replacement www.garden4less.co.uk/product/hozelock-hose-end-aqua-stop-connector-2055 If you've already tried these then I suggest measuring your hose depth and seeing if one of these would fit www.garden4less.co.uk/product/hozelock-hose-end-water-stop-connector-2075 Hope this helps!
Really great info thank you. However, PLEASE look at us your audience - instead of being led by the stupid 'off camera' (someone in TV/Video decided was clever videotography). NO, not clever, really annoying and actually insulting that the presenter/speaker appears more interested in looking at anything else than the viewer.
Sound like you may have a faulty tap connector, or the lip on the tap has worn away causing the connector to slip. You can identify which is at fault by attaching a spray gun to the problem connector, if that also comes off with some pulling then it's the hose end connector that needs to be replaced else it's the tap connector. You can buy a new hose end connector from us at www.garden4less.co.uk/search?Term=Hose+End+Connector&Category=Hose+Fittings+%26+Connectors (you don't need one with the red band [an aquastop]), you can also buy a new tap fitting at www.garden4less.co.uk/search?term=Female+Tap+Connector
