@@Tommy_2_Smooth How would you know? Are you a vocalist? Singing softly and not overly breathy requires muchhhh more breath support and control than just singing at full volume.
I hope people realize the level of talent and confidence it takes to put on a performance like this. Without being in control of the variables of what is going on around you, no microphone to project your voice or any real instruments to hide behind. He just shut his eyes and gave it his all and man is it awesome to watch.
I find this to be true of many Irish singers who are fantastic with minimal accompaniment, don't need any electronic assistance to their voices and are very soulful singers and songwriters in general. I think it's in their blood.
Give him ten years. When his knees break, his talent fades, his voice fails, his someone dies. It’s easy to sing about communism and atheism… until your back breaks, your intestines fail, and your knees bust. Give him ten years. He will believe in something. Everyone needs to believe.
uh jeff i dont know if thats how it works. Your statement is implying that each race has a different god and religion. It would be cristian god. Orthodox god . Etc
My lover's got humor She's the giggle at a funeral Knows everybody's disapproval I should've worshiped her sooner If the Heavens ever did speak She's the last true mouthpiece Every Sunday's getting more bleak A fresh poison each week "We were born sick", you heard them say it My church offers no absolutes She tells me, "Worship in the bedroom" The only Heaven I'll be sent to Is when I'm alone with you I was born sick, but I love it Command me to be well A-, Amen, Amen, Amen Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life If I'm a pagan of the good times My lover's the sunlight To keep the Goddess on my side She demands a sacrifice Drain the whole sea Get something shiny Something meaty for the main course That's a fine looking high horse What you got in the stable? We've a lot of starving faithful That looks tasty That looks plenty This is hungry work Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife Offer me my deathless death Good God, let me give you my life Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife Offer me my deathless death Good God, let me give you my life No masters or kings when the ritual begins There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene Only then I am human Only then I am clean Oh, oh, Amen, Amen, Amen Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life
Dang, thats probably the best real life performance ive ever seen, no fancy giant stadium or flashy effects, just a guy singing his heart out in a subway station, i absolutely love it
BRO THE GUY WHO TURNED THE KEYBOARD VOLUME DOWN... KINGGGG he has Hozier's back man... the piano completely overpowered vocals until he quickly noticed. great teamwork
Powerful. This is how ALL talent used to be like. Star power wasn't always #1... it was their talent. If you sound great live... you are the real deal.
To be able to sing as beautifully and as strongly as this on a subway without a microphone is just amazing. I love Hozier ... he's a renaissance man, so super talented. Beautiful human being too.
I thought I had some small piece of talent but he blew it out of the water. They way he was able to sing was beautiful. I’m not tryna be a professional but I rlly wanna get a lil decent to impress friends... ladies...
This makes me want to go back to finding new talent and reminds me how rewarding it was. I’ll give away my age if I talk about the singers and bands I was involved with. 😂
hi i did a cover of this, you dont have to watch it but if you do, maybe leave some constructive criticism under it :) im LGBTQ+ myself so this song means a lot to me.
I was there that day on my way to work about one hour too early, I remember seeing this afterwards and being so upset I missed it. Would have loved witnessing this live.
THIS is what a TRUE ARTIST is and does. Just pure talent singing. No auto tune. No editing. Not even a damn mic. This dude is talented. All the people who were lucky enough to see him are just that....LUCKY!!! Lol
Chris Chua because who in the world looks in a mirror and goes “you know, I can’t sing at all. Maybe I should do it anyways but at a professional level”
I say this over and over because people who say shit like this obviously know nothing about music: AUTOTUNE DOESNT NOT MAKE YOU AUTOMATICALLY SING. IF YOU SOUND BAD WITHOUT IT, YOU WILL SOUND JUST AS BAD WITH IT. It’s not some type of musical cheat code 💀 That’s the huge misconception people have about autotune. It’s pitch correction, it’s not gonna completely alter your voice. If you’re not in key it literally does nothing for you lol.
The Guy Who Comments on Videos Hey aren’t you the clown who told the conductor that you didn’t want to get on the train but then changed your mind as soon as it starting moving and then you ended up making hero boy pull the emergency brake just for your dumbass to get on smh.
@@Just_in_case_i_die..._ it’s just about all sex. “SHE tells me worship in the bedroom”. Unless Hozier is singing from a woman’s prospective, which I guess you can’t prove he wasn’t.
@@calebdavies826 no it’s about hate crime against lgbtq+ and homophobic actions being forced into a religion that doesn’t accept you. useing “she” as a shield. when he was “sick”
Saw him live at Austin City limits only knowing this radio hit. His voice is captivating to say the least. Also he performed after Vance Joy. He crushed Vance in a live performance.
Still remember exactly where I was the first time I ever heard this. I'm a musician and a lover of all sorts of music but this is the only song I can say that about.
Song or this performance? Because listening to song over and makes it even better . Or even listening it after years brings back memories. But first time we don't feel anything much
