Thank you for this! My wife has this exact model and her hard drive was failing but I had no idea how to get into the casing. First, I never would have known about the two screws under the rubber feet, second, I might have figured out how to undo the fastening clasps, but I wouldn't have known to pull the optical drive out like that until after I'd likely broken it or the casing. Quick tip for anyone who doesn't have that fancy plastic tool - a precision flathead screwdriver will also work just fine without breaking anything. Somewhere around a 1.4 to 2.0mm head size will do you just fine as long as you don't push it in past the chisel head.

Where to buy mounting prackets ? Since latest hp 15s laptop have space for 2.5 inch sata hdd/ssd but company doesn't provide hdd flex cable and connector unlike Lenovo do

I'm very new to all this but what ram upgrade do you recommend for this specific laptop? Are both ram slots removable? Or is this a situation where only one of the two 4gb cards can be upgraded to 8gb?
