No, no - you can't just cut out the part where you either A: sourced a working palm keyboard assembly, or meticulously removed all those sonically welded plastic tabs, and then re-attached it with the new keyboard. Anyone want to make a vid with this?
I've just completed replacing my keyboard. I had to snap off the "heads" of all those plastic rivets with a small sharp wood chisel. And what you're seeing in this video is the metal panel that is situated behind the actual keyboard. After that panel is removed. I had to pop off rivet heads that held the actual keyboard in place. It's a pain in the butt.
Yes you forgot to say source a working palm rest since the keyboard cannot be removed very easily as its held in by plastic rivets in behind the metal housing and no doubt you do not supply the palm rest assembly. Tell me I am wrong!
@@blopper30 yeah bro, i tried it myself and it was a mistake , if u loss most of the rivets will be an issue cuz after i assymbled the laptop i realized that the keyboard become lower than usual, its alittle discomfort when u click the button maybe of u send the laptop to a technichan will be good thing. also i sow an video someone remove all the rivets but i dont know how he fit the keyboard into the body, maybe someone help u on that, and let me know please cuz i still have that issue
IME they leave out some board components and even the ribbon connector so you just can't plug in the backlighting ribbon. You can use a backlit keyboard but it won't light up.
