Great video. Thanks for posting it, and showing how to open up an HP250/G7. Made it possible to attempt to replace the battery without going to the specialist computer shop. Many thanks and such a clear description of what to do. Brilliant.
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Henry Adrien thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Many thanks, works great. Tip: If you don't have a plastic thingy to pry the case open, try using the edge of a disused credit/debit card instead! Worked for me
Perfect guide! Five stars!! Thank you so much! With your video and explanation it was a piece of cake to replace the battery! Fantastic, really appreciate it!
Thanks alot! Did my replacement just now. I got the G7 250 version with a DVD drive. There is a slight difference there: When you have removed the screws from the back, you should pull out the DVD drive (its only held in by 1 of the middle screws). Might break something if you dont do this. Because the connectors of the DVD drive stick to the board, but the drive itself is held to the backside. When you separate the 2 parts at 5:00 you might risk breaking something :/ Thanks again, hope my battery doesnt burst into flames. These things are terryfying
@@BrueComputing I would like to tell you that I have just finished the disassembly/reassembly and everything went perfectly, thank you again, have a good weekend!
super video!!!! there is no fat on it. every singel word is needed and there are no extra words:) i love how short and informative it is thanks for that
Hi, thanks for sharing this video. Replacing is quite easy. I bought a new battery on Ali for 32 EUR, although not advertised as a hp brand, it looks like an original. That's strange, will see how it performs. The original lasted for 1 year, that's a shame, even if this is a cheap budget laptop. It's hardware is okay for a tertiary device though. I recognized there is an empty slot for another RAM to my 8 gb, that's a new mission... :) You keep up the good job, thx.
Thanks very much - this worked very well for my HP 250 G7 someone extremely nervous it would not work on trying to restart - it did!! Surely the battery should be easier to change than this though?
We had to get some of these recently due to the Intel chip shortage, these are the worst garbage I've ever worked with, and this video just compounds that. Thanks for showing the process. I wasn't able to pull the backplate with just the 4 visible screws, and this video shows they put some under the feet, lol, what a terrible design.
I'm not sure if I keep missing it or if it was cut out, but how do you remove the thing for CDs/DVDs? Can you just pull it out or how did you remove it before opening the lid?
Could you please tell me where the cmos battery is on this board? I have the cmos check sum 502 error and can't find the battery. Your help would be very appreciated.
I don't think there is one - HP use the main battery instead. Based on the fact that often when you pull the main battery it'll lose the clock settings, etc.
thank you. Is it possible to buy an HP replacement battery for this? I don't see it available. If not, are there any recommendations for makes to replace it with?
@@BrueComputing It does not feel puffy, it's solid feeling. Are good batteries supposed to be as flat as book cover? I can tell where the 3 cells are. The battery is not completely flat from end to end. I am going to buy a new battery. I was just curious as to how to tell if my battery did go bad. Again, thanks for your help.
Ah gotcha, yes it is a '3-cell' battery, so inside it is 3 distinct sections all wrapped up together. You can use HWMonitor to see the battery condition: www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html The wear level on the battery will tell you the percentage of capacity lost vs. new.
@@BrueComputing I just saw someone comment on wanting to keep his battery at a lower charged percentage. Begs this question please, does keeping the battery at around 100% cause degradation to it? Would keeping the battery around 50% prolong the battery's life and performance? Thank you in advance. I'll feel real stupid if the owner's manual states to keep the battery lower than 100%.
Hi we have the same laptop and we have spilled a little bit of coffee on the keyboard so we flipped it upside down really fast and we opened it to see if anything was ruined so there was a little bit of coffee on the battery but not on the connection is it possible that the battery could expand from it?
Thank you very much for the walkthrough! Any idea what parts one should not "touch" to avoid losing the warranty, i'm guessing the whole process would void the warranty? Thx m8!
does exist any way to stop using the battery while this lap is 99% of time connected to Ac Power? I only want to preserve it in 50% of it's charge due to maintenance purposes. Thanks
Yes, if you remove the battery it will work with the mains adapter plugged in. The laptops takes a HT03XL battery, which can be found here: amzn.to/2VGSE5S
Many thanks! Now for the questions...why cant I get Telegram on this devise? Why does it lose signal so much? Why does it drop me in the middle of a game? Guess you could say I like the Intel processor better...went with the HP because my grandson is a gamer n chose AMD for his desktop...he's so geeky LOL! Overall this is a good machine for the price...but I really need Telegram...Thanks again for this video!
Hah, you will have no luck finding this information. I recently did this, and documented it, for my apprenticeship. Once I finish the write up, im essentially left with a step by step guide for the procedure. If you're still struggling with this, I could send it to you when I complete it. Fair warning, it involves breaking a bunch of tiny plastic injection moulded rivet/things, and a lot of patience. I know i use the word "break", but it's really all on the inside of the laptop, and the new keyboard is held together just the same once you screw everything back in over the top of it, no visible damage, etc. And if you're thinking "that doesn't sound right!" well, it's literally the only way. There is no workaround.
