Thanks Mr. Wirth. Just bought my first HP Deskjet 1010 printer and I put it together while watching your exact and simple instructions. Your video will take the worry away.
I have used the printer for five years. Now the green light of the adapter is not burning and so the white light of the printer is not burning. Can you tell me what is the problem?
Thank you Terry but my ink levels show that they are half way.. and printer is printing green.. anything else you would recommend? Thanking you in advance.
+Maryam Novello - You are welcome and thanks for watching. Please note that the ink is very expensive for this printer. You need to print in draft/grayscale/black-only mode in order to $ave big. Set it in Printer Assistant or devices and printers and it will become the default. Then, when you need full quality you go into printer settings and select "normal" print quality right before you print. Good luck!
You are welcome. Ink is expensive for this model so make sure that you go into devices and printers, right click on the print, select printer preferences and select either draft, grayscale of black-ink-only. When you need full quality, select options from the print dialog and select "normal." This will save you considerable ink costs.
1) Did you take out the carboard gazinta? Probably because it has a long trail of blue tape. 2) Make sure that the catridges are seated. 3) carefully check the paper path for any bits of paper, especially if you had a jam. If all is well on these fronts, the printer is defective and you'll have to call HP support. After they walk you through all of the above and it's still grinding, they will snd you a return shipping carton and info on the return process. It's pretty easy and takes under a week to get a replacement. The hardest part is finding the phone number to call.
If you bought it in the US, it doesn't include a USB cable. Meanwhile, the rest of the world gets one packed-in because we are the only rich people on the planet. AARGHH. It should come with a power cord though.
Don't get me started. HP does not supply USB cables to US customers. The rest of the world gets them because apparently we are the richest and can afford the extra expense..
+Alexandra M. Daniela - Do you mean that you refilled the ink cartridges or installed new ink cartridges? If it is the former, there are perils involved with refilling an ink cartridge. If it is the latter, make sure that the ink cartridges are snapped in all of the way. If that isn't the problem, try running the head cleaning program from within the print driver or from the printer assistant software. Also, it helps to use HP original ink because you cannot wholeheartedly trust the performance of cartridges sold by unauthorized cartridge re-fillers. Good luck!
Lemme use an translator because i dont speak english very much. So. I bought the printer, ok ? In the printer was two ink cartidges. I used then. Then, I went in a city to refill them. At home, I put the cartidges in the printer, but the coloured ink cartdige dont work. Why?
+Alexandra M. Daniela This is because you used a refilled ink cartridge. If you buy HP original ink, your problem will be solved. This ink is expensive so use draft mode to save ink.
