I am sure these videos aren't high view counts or fancy but are EXTREMELY useful. Not too many printer reviews and I thank you for continuing to do them
I'm 79 yrs old and have been searching videos for over a week. This video made me decide what printer to buy. HP should be pleased with this presentation of their product. Their site us confusing. This video is clearly spoken and answered questions frankly and clearly. Cudos to ION.
Instant ink is the best Ink subscription ever made.. My family rarely print and luckily my account still have the "Free 15 pages per month" and only spent $7.68 in total for the year 2021 for Extra pages.. I also love their limited Rollover pages that adds extra page for the next month if you don't use it for the current month.
Thanks for explaining that print quality should be set to BEST. In the beginning when printing photos, the quality was horrible and I was very disappointed. After changing the print quality to BEST, I was very happy!
Excellent demonstration and review. I have to replace my 10+ year old Officejet Pro and wanted the picture print function, this looks like it will work. 👍👍👍
It is too bad there is not a paper holder because it looks like. If you were not catching the pages they would literally fall out of the machine. Am I correct?
Mine has a paper holder but you have to manually pop it out. I think it should pop out automatically when you print. Otherwise the paper does fall on the floor. Annoying.
LonTV is my go to dude, doesn't matter if it's a printer review. We own a Xerox WorkCenter 7830 color laser. We ditched inkjet exactly due to the drying out of the ink. 2K vs 2 hundo.
I needed to see how this printer worked. Of course no instructions were given. Like how to copy using feeder (print side up) and double sided printing. However it seems my printer table is off balance so the first page drops to the floor. Good information on printing photos, and will use the information provided
I would avoid HP altogether. Their whole ink system is nonsense. I normally print in black, barely use color, and rarely print as it is. When the color ran out, it would not let me print DESPITE having black ink and wanting to print in black. WTF is that? Not to mention after you put in brand new ink, it depletes on its own, even if you barely print. How is this not a scam? How is locking down a printer you own even legal? I’ll never go HP again, but then again maybe all printer companies are the same.
Because I miss placed my cartridge set, I ran out of blue ink, but I was able to print in black and white on my model 915 all in one until my replacement cartridges arrived. What misled me was that HP had eliminated the individual cartridge wrap, unlike my previous model.
I completely agree. Crunch time I have to complete project n was full of blk ink. Went to print n it doesn’t let me print cus the ink color was empty. Next printer is Lazor
Thank you for this interesting Review! I´m thinking about buying this Printer, but i was uncertain. After your Review, i think this Multifunction Printer fits for my needs. There aren´t many Reviews for this Printer on RU-vid. So far i use a Canon Printer and an Epson Scanner, but never had a Multifunction Printer. By the way, your Girls look lovely!😍 Greetings from Germany!
Fantastic demonstration, thanks so much! I've LOVED my hp Photosmart 7520, but the printhead quit printing on the photo black. Did all the cleaning & soaking in alcohol, etc., still wouldn't print that color. Went through several refurbished printheads till I found one that works, however, I have to clean the cartridges if I've let it sit for even a couple of days. With the original printhead, I NEVER had to clean the cartridges, & I had it for years!! And I don't print every day, I would just occasionally print something for my mother, or print a few photos. The one thing I would've liked to see in this review, is how far out the "paper-catcher" goes -- does it hold the entire sheet? Or does it buckle up in the middle? Anyway, thanks again, if I have to buy the new printer, this will probably be my choice. :)
I have this model. My error message says photo tray is blocked. The tray slides forward and the noise from the printer is very loud. My printer has stopped working. I can not get assistance to repair. I am so over it.
This prints nicely. I do not like the paper tray and the photo tray. I would like a way to remove the photo tray. I purchased this printer as part of a cartridge return, while talking to and HP customer service rep. It does not have a fax, which I presumed it had while talking to HP.
So I heard your say last printers would be better for infrequent users (like myself that gets tired of paying a monthly charge when I'm hardly using my HP). So, I normally print B&W with minor color documents such as short ebooks/FYI to myself prints to have on hand or business documents. So you have a suggestion for an inexpensive color laser printer?
I haven’t looked at one in quite awhile but HP and brother both have affordable models. You might get a little more toner longevity out of the Brothers
The case styling looks very similar to my HP 910 model. Astonishing, it will print two sided with documents fed into the feeder. There is one limitation when the source is the iPad in that unlike with the Windows computer, it will not print PDF documents, like user manuals, in booklet form.
I already hate printers with a passion. There's no way I'm putting their crap apps on my phone 😆 Anyway, great review Lon. As usual, in depth with useful info.
Hi great informative videos. A Trouble shooting question? How do I clear … display window says to add paper into photo tray. I don’t want to print photo paper.
at 250 dollars is abit expensive, but the flatbed scanner and the automatic feeder are nice features to have, tbh i would forget it prints and use it to scan documents
I'm sorry Lon, until I see something that exceeds all the capabilities my Epson Artisan 835 offers for photo quality, speed, scanning, duplexing, faxing, wireless printing, and printing photos off my phone, I just can't see myself going backwards. The first thing I look for in these new generation printers is... are they 6-color printers? If not, then there's no reason for me to look any further at them because their photo quality will never touch the photo quality of my Artisan. If they are... then, I'll look at all the other printer capabilities but so far, I haven't come across any printer offering me as much capabilities are the Artisan. Even the new generation of Epson Expressions has reduced the printer's set of capabilities.
Rene, you definitely have a good point about the Epson Artisan series. I also own an Epson Artisan, as well as the HP Envy Photo 7855 and other printers. The photo quality of the Epson Artisan will exceed the quality of any HP home use printer. The photos also have a better print permanence of lasting up to 200 years.
I love instant ink...I use it for my current printer and never run out plus I also get alot of months free by referring ppl to subscribe to instant ink
I am on my second exchange on this printer. Just received the new one yesterday and still the very same issue. When printing from photo tray, the colors are completely off. When printing from regular paper tray, the colors are accurate. I have spent hours on the phone with HP and still no resolution. They are sending me a new color ink cartridge and say that should do the trick. Makes no sense to me. If that was indeed the case then the photos would be off printing from both trays. I have wasted more photo paper on test prints than i'd like to admit. This has been a complete disappointment for any kind of photo printing. Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? And twice no less. Seems like a hardware issue...
What is the best all in one printer that will also print good quality photos? I’m looking at the HP Envy 7920e as that what’s available in the U.K. but not sure if the photo print quality will be good, any advice?
Envy Inspire printers - 79xx series & 72xx series are great on Photo Quality. Model number varies by countries, replaced with 'xx' in the country of offering.
I prefer a simple printer cable, and don't want HP Plus because I don't want any sort of ongoing relationship with HP. Also, leaving your credit card with some company is inherently risky.
Hi, hope you figured that out by now. These models have a Front Door & Top Door (needed for actual cartridge replacement). You need to open the front door first, followed by Top Door.
Mine is currently filled with photo paper. I don't know how printers function inside. If I want to use A4 paper do I have to take the photo glossy paper out and put in A4s? Or can someone just put A4 paper on top of the glossy paper and get something regularly printed?
I bought this printer a few months ago. I rarely print anything. (Wish I had watched this video before I bought to get the recommendation to buy a laser.) I have hardly used it - almost not at all. When I installed it it printed fine. Now the I can hardly see any ink on my paper and the ink display says they are half full! Not sure how to fix this. Ideas?
With so much pain points, not just ink cost but also error-prone experience, I'm still surprised nobody new has yet to come in and compete with Big Inks already.
I don't know what HP have done with the Envy series but this is as ugly as sin. My Envy 5640 has a nice big colour screen and looks like a Ferrari compared to this thing and it is 5 years old.
I just got this printer… the only problems I’m having is buying the right photo paper I just got the everyday photo paper & it smeared for some reason .. can anyone tell me which one is the right one ? I’d appreciate it 🥹
