What about the hinge quality.... In the previous 2020 and 2021 model ... Many people complained their hinge pop out from the main frame of the display.... Do you think they solved this problem in 2022 model??.... Envy x360 isn't a cheap laptop....
I don't have the previous years models to compare it so far the hinge holds up well, we have been using it daily for about 3 months no issues yet. I will of course update if I run into any issues
@@precluder Nope so far so good, 1 time the laptop was stuck in tablet mode (keyboard wasn't working ) but we just restarted it and it worked. The only thing I will say is we don't use tablet mode as often as I thought. Mostly just use it as a laptop.
Thank you , during light work and youtube I didn't notice any heat or fan noise , while opening a few heavy projects I heard the fans kick up for a couple seconds but went back down pretty quickly.
From what I can see the requirement for design engineers is 8gb of ram and a quad core cpu,.you should be ok with this. I'm just not about the radeon graphics but I think it should be good. I am not a design engineer so I cannot comment on how well it will perform with autocad
So the good news it its held up very well, and we use it daily. The bad news is that we don't really ever use it in tablet mode so I can't say if the hinge would hold up really well over heavy usage over time
@@RobsCorner just bought 2 weeks ago , battery life is about 3 to 4 hrs . I went to best buy and got a new one , battery life is still the same and i just used it for web browsing
hey so I have the laptop and it can't run many games but the games it can run it struggles with due to the games age or due to the graphics but overall, the laptop is a straight 8/10. personally love it but due to many new games coming out and the laptop being so small what makes it a problem and you can't update and get new Grahics card due to the laptop being a laptop.
Hey ya it can be frustrating I did a video om the gaming performance of the laptop, if you really want to game at high performance you can always look at getting an e-gpu that can help when gaming from home, but unfortunately that's the limitations of laptops.
I've had mine for 5 months and I find it's getting slow. It jerks. I've deactivated things like background display etc. to improve fluidity. It's better but still not satisfactory. Do you think an anti-virus could help?
The best anti-virus is common sense, I haven't used an anti-virus for years on all my pc just malware bytes once in awhile. You should look to see if certain processes are using more resources and clean up as much as you can. Also check your startup programs and disable anything that opens automatically at startup that you don't need
As an owner of two defective 15.4" envy x360 laptops, I cannot recommend this product. I purchased my first in December, used it for about 8 weeks, and out of nowhere, the screen flipped upside down as if it was in tablet mode. I attempted to reboot it, but the computer never came back on. No LED indicators, no signs of life. Long story: Since it was still under warranty, I called the support center and spent about two hours on the phone before they asked me to send it to their service center for a repair. Two weeks later, I received it back, tried to turn it on, and nothing happened. It was as if the service center did nothing but forward it straight back to me. I sent it back a second time (after another 2 hour call). A week passed, and the tracking information showed that it had never been received. I called them, waited on the phone for the default hour or so, and was assured that they'd received it but the tracking information hadn't been updated. Three weeks passed, and the tracking information never showed received. And I hadn't received any update from HP. Once again, I spent an hour waiting to get someone on the phone, and I finally reached someone who spoke clear English. I asked what happened. The representative said he had "no visibility or contact" with the service center it was shipped to. I asked how it was possible their own service center couldn't contact the other service center. He said he didn't know but that it's always been like that. I received my laptop back about 10 days later in the same condition I'd sent it in the first two times. I got back on the phone explaining how I wouldn't send it in again and that I'd like a replacement or refund. They said they couldn't rebuild it but would send me a similar laptop. They sent me a refurb with slightly better specs. I received it today. Guess what happened when I tried to turn it on. Blank screen (I can't make this up). This replacement/refurb has a different problem than my original. My original shows no signs of life, whereas the replacement unit shows LED power indicators and makes boot noises. Short story: Due to my experience with HP, this product, their service center and their escalation department, I will say that I have no confidence in this company, so buyer beware. HP makes most of its profits from big companies: defense contractors and so forth. So a single individual like myself is not on their radar. If your product works, great. If not, good luck beating the odds!
that's unfortunate to hear, almost 6 months into using this item we had an issue only once where the laptop was stuck in tablet mode, but a quick restart fixed it. So knock on wood it doesn't happen to our unit
I haven't tried the book 2 pro , but the specs for the book 2 pro look better than the version of the HP x360 i have here. I believe there are higher versions of the envy though. I would say get the most powerful specs your budget allows you too.
Hey there, great video! Just a quick question . I’ve recently bought HP Envy x360 15-fe0514sa 15.6”, processor Intel i5 with 8 gb RAM. My question is does this particular model allow me to change the RAM to 16 GB? Cheers
I believe the ram on that model is onboard whoch means its soldered in so you will not be able to upgrade the ram. But same envy models are upgradeable but when looking up that specific model it says onboard.
