The trouble with HP is that they add sequences of letters and digits in an incomprehensible way to distinguish between models. And the models change so fast that it is very hard to find back specific modelnames on their websites after just a few months. They can learn a lot from Dell.

I like the detailed review you gave of this laptop, I have a Dell with an aluminum top shell and it has a few dints in it. So the plastic is a good option for me. Great review, direct and to the point.

Unfortunately a lot of lower end laptops and especially HP have an issue where the hinges are screwed into brass inserts, which in turn are fitted into plastic. After a couple of years of usage the plastic tends to crack and the hinges detach. So for less demanding use like Internet browsing and RU-vid it makes IMHO more sense to buy a refurbished business laptop instead.

I have just bought it. My previous laptop is a Lenovo B5400 with 6gigs of ram and an i3-4000M at 2.4GHz (4th generation), still operable. So by all means this i3 laptop is an upgrade to me :) . Some games that I had in my wishlist on Steam are playable now and - from what I read - it can play GTA5 as well. The thing is that I like it's form factor. It's - relatively light, with big screen,it can run office and windows 11. It's okay for mediocre usage and to be honest I don't need something more.

Funny you ask cause a few days back I purchased it on steam,in offer together with XCOM II. I installed it to confirm that it was playable. It is. The in-game benchmark test I tried showed me an average of 50 fps. I played the intro to see by myself how it goes and I was satisfied. After that,I uninstalled it cause I'm playing something else now and it needs 109GB of disk space. I'll reinstall it when I'm going to play it. Unfortunatelly I didn't play it for a long period of time to have opinion about temperature. I just wanted to be assured that is playable,and it is.@@BenSXD.

Bought it yesterday, received it today, returning it tomorrow. Right speaker DoA. It's nice to see that they improved system features on commercial model and case durability at cost of post-production quality check. I could not test anything until every friggin driver was installed and at that moment once, I found one speaker is dead and other sounds blown; I thought "How the hell did this go through testing?". I felt like sucker punched; since till the last few drivers sound output was not available.

@@demonking395 anything that can be refundable when things go wrong in the first 30 days... On the other hand Samsung ativ 3rd gen Intel was awesome. Service hatches, speakers with bass, battery care functionality, nice case texture. For some reason tubular lithium batteries age well.

I recommend my friend buy this laptop(AMD version), we did a survey at the store, and we compare it with the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 (AMD version) and I would say the hp screen is underrated good.

Yes, Fan noise turning on constantly and dim monitor are the 2 major issues with this laptop. Otherwise it's fine for everyday use 😅

It's not dim display the brightness is lowered and the video is also edited a bit darker for aesthetic feel

@@davidjym yeah it's not..as u know 250 nits is enough for indoor but outdoor we need at least 500 nits which cannot be found at the price of this hp 15..so you need to spend more like a thousand dollars and you'll get the macbook air m1 but still the specs are undesirable

Much kudos for mentioning the inevitable hinge issue.👏 From someone that deals with repairs. I'm forever telling users to open their laptops from the center. Kinda miss old laptop designs that used a latch to encourage that process. For sure HP could do so much better in this area. hp = hinge problems.. Its well over due that they did 100% better in this part of design/build.

HP EliteBooks tend to be the "boring Betty" of laptops. Effective for work, but not something built for those that want work & entertainment in a laptop. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 at least has a QHD+ (1444p resolution) web camera for the sales reps.

wait, is this the pavilion series or not? if so, then they have DEFINITELY improved a lot on the looks and the quality! man, if only i'd waited for another year to get a new laptop.. my hp 15(s) is from 2022 and it's still got those ugly seams on the laptop's body ): although mehhhhh it's pretty good but STILL this laptop looks WAYYY more premium than the older hp 15(s)'s lol, hp's definitely improving this year!

@@macdooly5297 well, the hp 15s has a smaller touchpad and the laptop's base has seams around it (you can see it in his other video, just beware though he doesn't really like the laptop lol) and the hp 15 2023 looks more like the pavilion series,except it isn't. i feel like hp just changed the look of the laptop, the 15s is around ~100-300$ cheaper though

I have the same 2022 15s and the quality is absolutely shit the screen broke just by putting the laptop in a bag and my other acer aspire 5 (which costs around the same price) is far more durable than my new 15s but the performance is great in the 15s . They should really make some strong hinges like apple does. Everyone makes fun that h p = Hinge problems. hopefully they improve the quality as I love HP and I Want to own a Durable HP laptop.

@@omkarkamble8648 aw, R.I.P. your laptop though.. ): but mine's screen still works perfectly fine, even if it's already fallen on the lid (on the floor, not on a soft surface like a bed or something), you might've dropped it while it was in the bag by accident though.. also hp might? be using different materials on different and cheaper models since i've heard that other people say that their 15s's hinges break after 7 months, but mine's already a year old and i can tell you i haven't been handling this with much care, i've thrown it on the bed and opened it really quickly with one hand and the hinges still don't make any odd noises, palmrest hasn't cracked yet, mine's a 15s-eq3045au but i might come back and tell what happens to this laptop after another year

This laptop is the definition of generic and basic. And what's that? A 45w adaptor for a 13th gen i7? Even if it's U series atleast 65w Type C is the standard nowadays. I much prefer Dell even for these boring work machines. You'll get a basic 65w charger and a big battery atleast.
