Appreciate the budget recommendations, I got the Corsair A7200 - the Ryzen 7 5800X with the 3070 for $2,249 and it's been awesome. Added another 16 GB and 2 TB SSD. The prebuilts seem to get very pricey when you add 3080s/3090s. I might upgrade the video card in the future if the prices keep coming down.
I’m getting an omen 30l with an 11gen i7, rtx 3080ti, and 32gb of memory for about 1800 because of the sale today, it’s suppost to ship in about 5-6 days
I need your hp to tell me which hp Omen is better for me.I will be doing a digital film degree this semester or next semester.I might end up using pinnacle stuido or Cyberlink director for video editing.Which system is meant for me to buy.I don't play that much games on a desktop.I will be editing, surfing, watching videos, college classes.Would the I7 or the I9 would be recommended for me.
Thanks for making such detailed reviews! As someone who doesn't really have a clue about what to look out for in computers, I really appreciate your work!
As a Dad of a 2 and 4-year-old the "WTF pause" has me dying! Your videos are solid! I've watched your Alienware R13 and now your Omen 45L videos and they are great. Subscribed
I went with the i7, 3060 ti, 16 GB memory, 512 GB NVMe, 800w power supply for $1869 USD including MD state tax. My gaming needs are small so it's more than I need as configured. I like the cooling design and the size/flexibility should I want to build it out with a non-proprietary motherboard sometime in the future.
well you should not have. did you not notice the big grill that blocks airflow on the inside of the case? it blocks a large portion of your airflow that is supposed to be coming into the case. hp is the only company i have seen do this on a computer case and it is for a good reason. because it does nothing but impede airflow. not even mentioning the other issues with this computer.
I got this on sale with an i7 and 3080 for $2250. I think it was a pretty good deal. This review was so much more in depth than the one Linus did. Thanks for actually using updated bios and the omen software instead of just uninstalling it. He claimed the ram couldn't run at the advertised speeds.
@@izenbice Well there are some big issues that I have with it. I loved to tinker so when I tried to squeeze more performance I was faced with the fact that HP really did power limit it too much. Even downloading intel XTU it pushed up against the power limit like a wall. I bought an i9 12900KS instead only to find out that the power limiter only allows up to 12900K (I even bought a new power supply to make sure that wasn't it). I also tried to put in faster ram but it didn't like that and would only run at base speed and put the OEM stuff back in. So basically you need to buy a new motherboard if you want to upgrade anything other than the GPU but lose the software licenses tied to your OEM motherboard But despite everything I just said I actually love it. The cooling is amazing, it runs super quiet even on the performance setting. My cats like to sleep on it while I game and I used to freak out but the temps never went over 70c even with her on it while playing the most demanding games. Because I bought all those other parts I actually built another PC but I ended up sticking with the OMEN. The included OMEN software for overclocking isn't bad, and I hear HP did update the bios to accept different RAM now. Oh and do not use the bios to increase your ram, it is done through the overclocking tab now, at the top right you can switch between overclocking the CPU and RAM. I decided to just go with the out of the box experience and leave behind the endless tweaking and headaches that can come along with custom PCs. The computer has a suite of monitoring and self repair software.... but most important is that the OMEN RGB software only works with HP OEM stuff lol. I guess I treat it like my consoles, It looks awesome, runs great, stay up to date all on its own and has a warranty. My final thought it that as a prebuilt I really think its hard to beat. HP really put in the work. I shouldn't have bought a prebuilt if I intended to upgrade it immediately, I admit that was really dumb. Honestly all you really need to upgrade down the road is a new GPU which it accepts without issues, the CPU and RAM will be fine for a very long time. So yeah if you are fine treating this prebuilt like a prebuilt, you'll love it. Just be aware that if you do want to upgrade anything other than storage and GPU, you likely need a new motherboard (Unless HP removes the power limitations). Let me know if you have any other questions about it but this video did a really good job of explaining things.
@@dannonyogurt98 Wow thank you so much for the detailed reply!! I was a little confused about the ability to utilize XMP, but glad to know it's easily accessible in the hub. I don't think i'll plan on tinkering with it.... at least not right away :D. It's funny I work in IT, went to college for computer information systems, but have never had a 'top end' PC. Will finally get to play through a bunch of games that I could never run. I bought like 10 games on steam for black friday in anticipation for it, doom eternal, cyberpunk, god of war, rdr2 to name a few. Very much appreciate the response!
ordered one with an i7 and 3080 and 16gb memory. GREAT REVIEW! I cancelled my order even though it was only 2k... I am going to wait and be content with my 1080 series PC :) The games that I play wont even take advantage of using a 3080 at this moment and lack of GDDR5 natively etc. Lets hope the next Omen PC will address these cons
Can't really tell from the video angle - but can you get the diamond to match the same color of the fan rings exactly...? It looks like the diamond is always a lighter (frosted?) color than the fan rings from the video...? Also, any idea if you can use sleeved cable extensions (CableMod) to make the cables look a little nicer...? Thanks!
With this pc and the x17 r2 gaming laptop arriving from dell may 2nd i will be set for a very long time for the games i play dcs flight simulators, il2 sturmovik ww2 simulators and age of empire type games. So i should be good to go. Probably over kill but i dont upgrade all that often. My last pc desktop was a falcon northwest from 2011 and last notebook was a toshiba 2006 g35 av600 with windows xp on it that still runs (use it to only watch movies now on a usb external hard drive) A very nice breakdown on the omen 45l. Its held back by hp but stays very cool and should last for a long long time. Now i have to check into a laptop fan for the x17 r2 as it doesnt run as cool and need it to last me.
Hi again JustIN I have a very important question this pc uses the HyperX DDR4-3733 MHz XMP RGB Heatsink RAM (2 x 8 GB) but I can’t seem to find this exact model I keep seeing them without RGB or with it’s new name Kingston but I’m not sure if it’s safe to mix and match with the different versions?
@@JustinTechTips thank you for the feedback! I just got mine today but im a little bit worried with the temperature. I have barely done anything and its reaching 100F?
I'm a console simple player but the pc gaming is just can't be compared with that 144hz or 300hz displays its just so good looking I do own a 2019 hp omen laptop it's a amazing machine 👊 hp 💯💯💯💯
I'm looking to get this now (December 6) but wondering if I should hold off, given you mentioned the 40 series GPUs. Do you think HP will update the machine for the new GPUs?
Hey Bob, that just depends on how long you would like to wait. My contact at HP said the earliest he's heard they will be available with 40 series GPUs is April
11:09 actually, HP has patented this design, making it impossible for other manufacturers to copy…I can understand the logic, HP needs to keep having exclusivity over other brands if it wants to remain relevant
no pci5.0 and ddr5? I thought the the omen 45l motherboard was intel z690 family, which is able to work with PCI 5.0 and ddr5 if you wished to upgrade to it.
Nice review again Justin. Appreciate all the time you are putting into your reviews and editing. Another one bites the dust and another one gone heeey heeey and another comes 🔜
Hey I'm a bit confused. Did you mean that you can't upgrade GPU at all because of no PCIE 5.0, or you'll just have to upgrade both GPU and motherboard for it to work? Great review btw! I subscribed.
Hey BigFloppa, no I just mean that the next generation of GPUs may not work with it as they will probably need the faster PCIE 5.0 connectivity. All current Nvidia GPUs should work with it
I’ve always been a console player but, for over a month I’ve been looking for a gaming pc, so far after many videos I believe this is the best one I have seen, any other recommendations? I want it for gaming, streaming and video editing
Hey Daniel, this one is a great one for sure, but I actually think the Corsair Vengeance i7300 would perform a little better for you. This lower specked and much less expensive version of the Corsair bestbuy.7tiv.net/JrYabe performed almost as well as this top specked HP Omen 45L bit.ly/HP-Omen-45L So that tells me if you go with the absolute top configuration of the Corsair i7300 bestbuy.7tiv.net/GjY5X6 then you would get ridiculously amazing performance. Believe it or not but that cheaper lower specked Corsair in that first link actually OUTPERFORMED the HP Omen 45L in my Adobe Premiere tests My Corsair i7300 Review: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VLLj32cGp54.html
Saw this video on a public pc Had to take out my mobile, search for this video just to comment with my youtube account Awesome videos, have been searching on youtube about this olmen, you wont believe me watched over 10+ videos But your video, all the info you put in without any extra crap, i had to comment and to say bravo! Was going to buy that machine, but seeing it wont support ddr 5 and specially pcie 5, i am thinking to wait bit further and save my cash, as to put such a big amount in a pc which wont support these main futuristic features would not be very intelligent Once again hatss off to your video and hardwork Well done You should have more subs for sure Keep it up
I have wanted a gaming PC forever. Now that I have a job I am in a dilemma. I want to build a gaming PC. But I feel like that portability is gonna be a problem since my job is transferable. What do you suggest ?
Yeah MuteSniper, I love these desktops but I actually prefer high performance laptops because I don't like to work only in one room. The new MSI GE76 is the latest one that I'm the most excited about. The i7 one below is the one I would get if I was about to buy a computer for myself 2022 MSI GE76 with i7 and 3080Ti: bestbuy.7tiv.net/jWjgnZ 2022 MSI GE76 with i9 and 3070Ti: bestbuy.7tiv.net/x9qP2R
Love the videos man, keep them coming! What would you say is the best pre-built desktop for both gaming and crypto-mining? Furthermore, how doable is it to unlock the bios and overcome the overclocking issues with the HP Omen 45L?
Thank you David! Catching up on comments this week. The best of the best right now that I would go for would be the Corsair Vengeance i7400 w/ 4090 and 13th Gen i9: go.corsair.com/kjYn2z That one would be insane for Crypto Mining and Gaming
hey I bought the ryzen 7 5800x 3060ti 45l and I was wondering what fan setting you have yours set at because I have mine on base turbo and it seems like my cpu temps jump kinda high? Like I'll be installing a game and it will jump up to 60
😂 LOL sometimes they are hard to tell the difference. There's a slight difference in the pitch. And yes.. the angry screams are eardrum bursting. Overall a great happy kid though thankfully
sir I had a question I have heard that alienware pc's keeps on restarting is it true and alos they say that the chip used in hp are more durable and powerful so in terms of durability hp is stronger what do you say about this?
Omen 45l Amd ryzen 9 5900x 3080 graphics card 32 gb ram 1tb SSD what u think about this build for heavy warzone gaming and streaming. And would I have any problems upgrading parts in the future?
Hey thereal_shaqdineroTV, that's a solid configuration you chose there. You won't run into problems upgrading to say a 3090 later but I don't think this PC will be ready for 40x series GPUs when they are released probably in September. You also won't be able to upgrade to DDR5 with this motherboard. You can do all of that with the Corsair Vengeance i7300 machine that I also reviewed though.. @@narvinulep598 Same. They told me, "your liquid cooler does not come with the RGB option" which is weird because I'm pretty sure there wasn't any option to have it on or not.
@@JustinTechTips but victus is only available online and pavilion should be available at offline too, online purchasing is quite awkward bcz i already get scammed once in amazon so ! does it make sense to buy pavilion?
I mean… I don’t mind if the GPU is not upgradable. If I get something like a 3070 I7 it’s going to last me more than 5 years. I only play Valorant and minecraft so it shouldn’t be a problem running it above 100fps right? Also I heard that any water cooling system should be cleaned once every 4 months. Is that true?
Hey Shayan, no this machine wont need to be cleaned out every 4 months. And yes you will not have any problems running those games abbove 100fps with a 3070
HP taking a month to build mine 😭 But I’m excited dude, i9, 3090, 64gb ram, 2tb ssd, 2tb hdd. Hopefully just will only have to change motherboards and Gpu in a few years
Yeah Samu, It's priced very well and one of the most bang for your buck prebuilt PCs with these specs. 4000 series GPUs are going to be ridiculously expensive when they first come out. Whenever that actually is. I don't really trust their release dates anymore since they keep pushing it. Make sure when you use my link below to also apply that code next to it for 10% off for the best deal bit.ly/HP-Omen-45L (and for 10% off use code 10GAMER2022)
This is a good review. I like your editing and shots of the green screen and baby cries. Is this thing seriously over 40 pounds? I know it says it in the specs, but can that be right?
Hey Riicho, usually with these types of machines it doesn't void the warranty to do modifications. But they won't cover any problems that are a result of breaking something when attempting an upgrade incorrectly
Sorry for posting to comments but where I’m coming from for some perspective is I’ve been a Mac person for a long time my last PC I bought in 2012 and I still have it it’s an HP all in one. But the reason I’m considering a PC is I really want to use Microsoft flight Sim 2020. I don’t know anything about gaming. The last game I played was Atari and Coleco vision. Don’t laugh too hard. But I am a private pilot and I lost my medical obviously due to a medical issue and I can’t fly in Microsoft flight Sim is so realistic I believe I can even log instrument time on it. So bottom line is I’m trying to get a system that will run flights in with ease and maybe even make myself an in-home simulator with real. Instruments and make an in-home cockpit. With this computer be the one or could you tell me what I should get I really need some help. Thank you so much I just subscribe to your channel.
So I'm looking into getting my first Gaming PC but I'm stuck between the OMEN 45L with an i7 12700K with a 3080 or the Corsair Vengeance i7300 with the same CPU/GPU. Any preference between the 2? And you talk about the OMEN's lack of DDR5 and PCIE 5.0, should that be a deal breaker vs the Vengeance i7300?
Hey KagenNoTsuki, that's a great question! After testing both, I would go with the Corsair Vengeance i7300 for sure. Better performance for your money. Honestly the 3070Ti version bestbuy.7tiv.net/JrYabe of that computer is an even better deal than the 3080 version for barely less performance.
i recently picked up an omen and had one major issue. the preloaded omen software absolutely decimated the cpu on startup. days with the omen tech support ended up getting me a "sucks to suck we cant do anything about it" response.
Hey Stardust Gaming, for gaming the HP Omen 45L is better, but for creative applications the Alienware Aurora R13 is better. But I think the top model of the Corsair Vengeance i7300 is actually better than both of them. Here in NL I can buy Lenovo legion t5 for 1400 euros with 5800/16gb/3070 or a HP omen 40L which is 2600 euros with 12700k/32gb/3080 such a massive price difference and tbh 3070 is fine in most games with dlss turned on to get more fps
Yeah Daan, I agree that the 3070 is plenty for most games today. 3080 and 3090 are more for those that want to be more future proof for next Gen games that have not yet been released
