Great review! I enjoyed the "thumbs" up for the bloatware :) I've read conflicting info regarding the TGP wattage though, so I'm wondering if the 65W includes the extra 15W that is supposedly by selecting NVIDIA Boost in the settings? I've read that it'll push it to nearly 80W, but would appreciate your input. Cheers!
Thank you :) Yes, it can use dynamic boost to go up to 70-75 watts, but it basically never reaches that, unless it's in an exclusively GPU workload. In games in barely reaches 60W most of the time. It really is a shame that this thing is limited by its power brick :(
@@crimsontechyt for example testing heavy games on it like red dead redemption or some others.. it will be cool because I am about to buy it next week I wanna be fully sure about it... And agian your works are great ❤️❤️
@@crimsontechyt heat and fannoise, especially with different modes for each laptop (if you want to be very detailed replace armory crate with g-helper), also battery life testing in real life, not just benchmarks
This vid is so calm, i love it. I actually wanted to buy it but the 4070 on 65watts is a joke, considering i wanted to play on my external 165hz 1440p monitor from time to time this thing would not be enough for it at all, i mean 46fps average on rust for 2.5k?!?!?! That is sad, i think i will go for a msi katana 15 with a rtx 4050 and an i7 13th gen, the laptop looks nice and there are only good reviews, maybe u could do a vin on it? :0😊
Thank you :D Yeah for that price it is just not worth it. You're wayy better off just grabbing a G14 on clearance. Keep in mind that 4050 will perform a lot worse at 1440p though :o
@@crimsontechyt i saw some people using the katana 15 on a 1440p screen, my friend has one as well and is happy with it, maybe u could do a vid on it surely would be cool :p
@@crimsontechyt (if i make a review then take the 4070 katana 15 :0 I‘d like to see that before i order that laptop, i think i might go for the 4070 rather then the 4050)
Great review even without sound, mentionning the plastic feeling build and detailed backlight details are things that even big reviewers missed, probably because HP sponsored those early videos.
Where do you get the money for all this? great value in your content tho. keep it up. Also im thinking about the razer blade 14. Have had any qc issues?
Thank you! I have some connections that provide me with review samples :) The ones that i do buy, i sometimes keep, and sometimes i sell them off afterwards. I havent faced any QC issues with the Blade or the G14 so far (Which is rare for me lol). The G14 slash does pick up dust, but thats not a QC issue really.
@@crimsontechyt thanks a lot for your info. im sorry to be a bit clingy but how would you reccomend for a beginner to make such connections. Is it related to your work position?
@@REVERSEbananaYT I plan to use it with a monitor on my desk 24/7. I'll use a MacBook Air for my normal use. Do you have the laptop or are you just reinstating reviews? Personally I am aware of the flaws such as battery life and I did buy 1 in 2021 (returened) due to QC issues. I am willing to pay the premium as money isnt a issue but I don't waant a laptop that needs to be replaced every 3 months due to it not turning on.
@@fahim.shariarBuying a laptop like these for 24/7 gaming on a desk is the wrong decision. Go as thick as you can if the laptop won't be moved around. Look at the Asus strix scar line, Lenovo legions or even a desktop.
Hi, great review! I have the opportunity to get either an HP Omen 14 with an RTX 4070, or a G14 with an RTX 4060. The G14 is £100 more. I was wondering what you personally would pick out of these two. It is for gaming/work while travelling but I don't play anything very graphic intensive. Thanks!
The Omen 4070 is actually about as fast as the G14's rtx 4060, due to its low wattage... The G14 has better build quality, battery life, software, and speakers. So personally, I think the 100 extra is more than worth it :)
hi! i saw an offer for the omen for 1700 euros and the g14 its 2000, do you think the omen transcend is worth it at that price? i love the looks of this laptop and i will use it for things like adobe, editing and blender aswell.
For 1700 it's a nice deal (if it's the 4070 model ofc). Personally I'd wait for discounts on the g14, but if you need it sooner rather than later, the omen is def a good deal for that price :)
I've been considering this or the G14 cuz I've heard this doesn't overheat and has a very low temp but anything else is kinda meh, but also people complains about the G14 cuz of the temp (sorry for poor grammar)
I havent had any issues with temps in my G14 :o But then again, i use custom fan profiles, so maybe they just run a little faster and keep it cooler. The GPU does reach 80 degrees under heavy load, but thats still pretty normal for a gaming laptop. The Omen mainly doesnt get hot, because the GPU is capped at that 65W, and simply performs worse. For me personally, I'd take more performance over a cooler laptop any day :)
Yes, you can turn on dynamic boost in the Omen app and get an extra 15W (sometimes). Keep in mind it "steals" this wattage from the cpu though, so it might cause stuttering
In my country g14 4060 is 200$ more than omen 4060 . If similarly priced I would have picked g14 , alas omen it is . How's the battery life though . With eco mode can it last a day ? Since i'll need it for medschool
The blade is heavier and has a regular IPS display instead of the OLED on this one, but everything else is better on the Blade. So yes, I'd say the blade is better :)
I love my ASUS G14 2024, but it has the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS, 16GB RAM, 1 TB Hard Drive and the GTX 4060 GPU. I paid for the G14, after taxes, $1,711. The HP OMEN is on sale now and it has the Intel Ultra 9, 32GB RAM, 2TB Hard Drive, and a GTX 4070. The HP OMEN is on sale for $1,911 after taxes on HP’s website. I like to game but not much. I love the speakers on the G14. I use my laptop more for work productivity, light gaming through STEAM and I desire better battery life for video streaming and web surfing. I almost considered the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite laptop from Samsung, but I am afraid of Windows app compatibility with ARM processors. I am also afraid that STEAM will not work on a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite. Should I pay the $200 more for the HP OMEN because of the 32GB RAM, 2TB Hard drive and GTX 4070 GPU? I see that the speakers as well as the Front Facing Camera are horrible on the HP OMEN. Should I switch to the HP OMEN because of the upgraded specs and lower price?
No, i wouldnt go from a 4060 G14 to a 4070 Omen. The 4070 in the Omen is about equal to a 90W 4060 (which you have), and the CPU in there is only better for multi tasking. Everything else about the G14 is better than the OMEN, so i wouldnt upgrade to it (if you can even call it an upgrade xd) I'd say stick to your G14 :D
In indonesia Omen 14 not yet out But the g14 they cap at 4060 And the price like 4070 version in US What do you think about liquid metal in asus laptop Its hard to repaste and chance to shorts your gaming laptop
The Omen will be more expensive there as well unfortunately, as they are in every region 🥲 Liquid metal is only an issue if your unit is defective. You *should* NEVER have to repaste liquid metal on a die, unless you do custom mods (which i wouldnt do). Under normal circumstanced, liquid metal should not leak, as there's a mesh around the chip that keeps it in place
@@crimsontechyt but the gpu not get liquid metal right? How to repaste the gpu then in the future? Can the fan be cleaned without taking the copper heatsink?
Most asus price in Indonesia almost 35% more expensive than US price In Indonesia G14 32 GB with RTX4070 and 1 TB SSD It cost 2770$ USD While Hp omen around 20% more than US price Would you mind trying in 1600p Will the quality of degrade or still same as 1800P Because it s 14 inch supposed hard to see the difference 1200-1800p
Only the Transcend 14 got an entirely new redesign this year i think, as the Transcend 16 didnt change much from last year, and that ones build quality is a bit worse. But then again, i havent tested that one out, so i cant say much about it :o
The Omen 16 did too. In my Omen store it has it listed with 240hz oled panel. Its basically exactly as I described but no one is talking about it. This dude reviewed it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yQ2jlc62vEc.htmlsi=A0v2AyUkwF5uaQ2y When I checked specs on their website it checked out correctly
Right I see, The Omen 16 did get a little redesign. It has the specs I mentioned 240hz oled gsync, 2560x1600 res, and is available to purchase atleast for UK store. There is a review on it on youtube by OWNorDisown, and Ben Kaiser has one (but he didn’t really explain the specs really well)
@@crimsontechyt the omen 16 has similar changes to omen 14. its got oled 240hz w gsync too. Our uk store is selling it and they have a formal spec sheet too so its not a typo. Someone reviewed it too on youtube. But no one really knows about it…
@@mobeen369 I mean like a full redesign from the ground up. It may have received a spec bump, but it still looks the exact same as the model from 2 years ago :o
hi im new to your channel i wanted to ask you something im looking to buy a new gaming laptop around 80k to 85k (around 1k usd) can u suggest me some laptops
If you can find a Lenovo Legion, Acer Nitro, or MSI Thin with a 4070 for that price, it would be a good deal. If you cant find those, the 4060 models are often lower than 1k (atleast here) :)
The 4050 is a lot slower than the 4060 and 4070, and wouldnt really be worth it for gaming imo. 4050 laptops are around the same price as 3060 laptops from previous years, so I'd DEFINITELY get one of those instead, since they perform way better.
