Thanks man! I used your technique to troubleshoot mine. After I fixed the hinges the button just couldn't reach the power switch board good enough until augmented. :)

Good work. But I notice that you did not replace the capacitor(shorted) that you removed. What is the value of that capacitor? Did it run/operate properly without the capacitor that's been removed?
How do you find where voltages should be on unknown equipment? For instance, I can't find schematics, board files, or anything on much of any HP equipment, and unless I have a working board to test against, I would have no clue where I should be finding 3 volts, 5 volts, etc.
Pls I want to ask you something. My laptop motherboard spoiled. I went to a computer technician to change it and put another one, he found the same type of motherboard with exact number AHL50/ABL52 LA-C701P and fixed it to my laptop. It worked, my laptop powered but the touchscreen did not work. Pls what might be the cause?? Is there anything I can do so that the touchscreen will start functioning with the new motherboard? It's hp 2015 Notebook. The specification is: HP Notebook 15-ac121dx And the motherboard is: AHL50/ABL52 LA-C701P. Thanks
Hi bro, i have a HP pavilion 20 AIO, sometimes can power on, sometimes cant power on. Anything i should check? Power adaptor is working fine. I already take out the motherboard and unplug everything, still same. Power light is there on the motherboard but cannot turn on.

question, this is how motherboards are made today? 5v and 3v are only available if laptop is powered on? or this is different from 5v/3v alw? sorry last repaired a board was 2013. thanks man.
Fantastic video there! Well I am lucky and have exactly the same short on this power rail but unfortunately does not seem to be that capacitor. It is not getting hot when I inject power like you did... Must be from something else... Also did not notice anything to get hot even though there is the short.

I have Infinix x11 series laptop .. Charging(charging light shows and is charging perfectly fine) but not powering ON. (no fans running,no BackLIT keyboard light) Power button light turns ON and then OFF after 3-5seconds.
Sir i have a same motherboard with nvdia gpu. The problem is the laptop starts, fan spins for 1 second and then stops. Is the problem with the GPU? Or something else? Please help korun
@@Laptop_repair_zone sir the gpu coils have no supply. Other coils have all the supply. I have removed the coils of thr gpu and gpu memory but still there is problem. Plz help and guide me.
because the ceramic capacitors have a minor function of filtering the unawanted riples in voltage waves , so removing it has minor impact as they as so many in the power suply line

brother will you plz tell me the solution that my laptop hp 15-g019wm charging light is blinking but can't showing display on the screen . when i switch on the laptop it,s fan moves for one an half seconds then suddenly stop but the charging light is still blinking and no display . Why in this laptop 5 and 3 v is present after your press the power button. I know that 5v and 3.3v always voltage should be present before you press the power button. Please can you give some explanation?

video is not educational at all. first of all pressing the power button does not create 3.3v and 5v or even 19v. they are always present if any of them isn't present, your motherboard will not boot as the superio will not let the board boot without those voltages.
