Thanks for the video - it inspired me to fix my dell 5559 laptop which has this issue. In the 5559 issue it blew a FET along with the protection diode so I had to replace PD3 and PQ6. The schematics for it are available online. This failure had also broken the single-wire comms in the charger and so I had to also replace the charger. With those changes the laptop is now back up and charging again. Phew!
I have same laptop. My issue is sometimes the indicator light does not light and the battery doesn’t charge even though the screen shows plugged in. Sometime later when i shut laptop down the battery indicator lights and battery charges! What might be the issue?
hello friend. i have completely applied uma conversion but i have charging problem. i bought new battery and inserted. after that, in windows charging but % percent going to down. (Not charging) what's problem? charhing light off on front panel.
what would cause that diode to go bad? also what is the role of the diode you removed? and what risks have you assumed the customer would be ok with? can it now catch on fire? or is this just a matter of making sure you use a dell psu?
@@Laptop_repair_zone i am curious what did the diode do? if my seat belt gets stuck i can cut it out but then i dont have a seat belt for car accidents, sure i dont need it to drive but it keeps me safe. thanks for the video btw, i will try your idea
Hi, i have dell inspiron n4010, having same issue,pluged in not charging issue, will this method work in n4010? When i connect charger, charging light turns on one time then gets off, in task maneger its show, pluged in not charging, i tried to replace battery and charger both, but nothing works! Will this method work in my n4010?

This diod is optional no problem if you don’t use it more then 200 laptop i fix this problem without this diod there still working fine. N5110 you need to download schematic and you can find it on charging port board thanks.
I do have same problem in dell inspiron3521 but laptop repairer asking 3300(INR) for this. Is this worth paying them 3300 cauz i think they are asking too much for this stuff
I also have the problem that the charging LED won't turn on, but it powers on the connected computer without issues, and it recognizes the battery. I already checked the process in the video and apparently everything is fine with the diode, so in this case, is it recommended to replace the battery?
thanks for your comment, first try with a new battery if problem not solved then you need to check charging section in your laptop motherboard step by step.
I am using same model Dell N5010 and facing issue that when turning on with battery is shut down. But without battery it is working fine. I also remove this diode . what should i try next.
