I have the same exact model! I almost gave up until I found your video. Your step-by-step walk through is really helpful. I agree that this is not a very user-friendly laptop when it comes to taking it apart. I couldn't have figured out where the hidden screws were without watching your video. I'm taking one apart now, to fix a fan that is generally quiet but then goes into a screaming mode. This video is QUITE helpful. Thanks. I was daunted from attempting it until I saw this. I had quite a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the very first flat cable to the keyboard loose until I figured out the the piece that holds it down pops up. Hope I'll be able to reverse the process. The fan is on order from newegg...

After my son pour accidentally almost whole glass of water I needed to dismantle our Hp notebook. Thanks for details. Especially for hidden screws. All are very helpfull. By the way luckly we saved notebook after drying all components.

I'm glad I found this. I have a similar model, the HP Beats Special Edition 15-p030nr, and I've been trying to figure out what it's problem over the last week has been, first it refused to acknowledge any wi-fi capability and now it's randomly powering off and restarting. A friend mentioned I might wanna look inside and make sure nothing looks damaged with how random these two problems seem to be happening back to back, but I was getting annoyed trying to get it to open to see for myself while also too nervous to do anything without a guide

In other videos they didn't disclose each n every step of Disassemblying . But in this video I got exact all steps nd so I could disassemble. Thank you so much for the video.

Thanks a lot for this video, it was of great help. I've replaced the old slow HD with a newer SSD and it's gotten a new life! The superflat screw (in my unit there was only one) near the optical drive rim was a nightmare to remove... I had to cut it using a Dremel. My advice is to be extra careful with the screwdriver head you use.

Will removing the battery case insure our discovery of a "Pot of Gold? No! Your company hopes that we'll thrash the old frustrating PC, and purchase a new one, for a simple battery... ~~CR~~

I went through the painful process of disasembly this laptop to upgrade RAM. I wish I would have seen your video earlier...And I had the same issue at 10:21 haha

You know, the other day I was saying something about the design/engineering choices building a budget machine can require, and how interesting the creative solutions to those problems can be. This... doesn't feel like one of those situations.

Found this video really useful after a long time trawling through the internet. I have a very similar model but am having real difficulties getting out the flat screw (warranty screw?) for a tiny screwdriver underneath the cd drive. Do I just need to get a stronger screwdriver? It twisted the metal on my magnetic screwdriver which I used for the other screws. All advice welcome! (The fan is making some horrible noises so I wanted to open up the laptop to clean it / replace it. But it’s proving tricky!)

thank you, it was very helpful and informative. finally managed to take my old laptop apart to clean it properly and install an SSD, with some help from my 17 year old daughter and her small hands as my sausage fingers struggled with all those tiny parts 😂

Hi, thanks for the great video. I have the same laptop and my 1TB HDD is incredibly slow at running windows 10. Would adding a small SSD to run the programs while keeping cold data on the existing HDD be a good option. To me replacing the drive seems like a waist of a 1TB drive but I'm fairly new to this. Would adding an SSD be as simple as just plugging it into where the optical drive used to be connected?

Thank you so much for this video. Mine is hp17-p110nr and is almost identical, minus the Beats speakers. My optical drive did not come out in a neat unit, like is shown on all videos. It was "bare" and on flimsy plastic "rails" that I finally got unclipped. But it is still firmly attached by a long ribbon cable to the mobo. My tiniest phillips are too pointed to fit those two weird flat screws that are under the optical drive tray. What did you use?

Hi! I added some RAM and changed my HDD to SSD. Unfortunately, when putting them back I broke two or more pins on the keyboard socket connector and now most of the keys won't work (Power button and Touchpad still works). I still would like it to be fixed even though I'm using it already with an external USB keyboard. I found some tutorials about soldering the pins but I'm not confident to do it. I'm also thinking of buying a motherboard replacement but obviously they're too expensive. Hoping someone could help me.

I got a 15-p033cl and it has 12gb of RAM installed, but I'm not entirely sure if I can add like a mini graphics card into it to make it run better? It has a Radeon HD 8610g in the CPU if that helps.

I think it's better prior to opening a laptop to either watch a video of the disassembly and or get the service manual, both of which I did, because guessing might be a bit dangerous. Other than that, it was illustratrive.

This was great. Just had to open one to put in a SSD. Would not known where all the screws are otherwise and the credit card thingy also was very handy.

Hey sir I cannot see my cmos battery on either side of the mother board and my laptop does not turn on correctly. Is it safe to say that this is the problem or can the device run without a cmos battery? I get a cmos failure witten on my screen and tried resetting it but there is none.

Hi, I have a Pavilion 15 P000; I inherited it and it's like new- hardly used. Very similar to the one in your video. Thank you for the very helpful video. Two questions: 1. I was wondering where is the Bios Battery and I saw it when you turned over the mother board. Is it possible that mine also has a Bios Battery in the same place? Why would they put that in such a hard to get place? Seems like there should be a removable panel in the back to access. I was told that it's likely mine did not have a bios battery; but from looking at your video there may be one present. 2. The other reason I wanted to take mine apart: I could not figure out how to disable the touch pad. In the device properties the "disable" button was greyed out. So I'm going to disconnect the cable. Let me know if you know of another way to disable the touch pad. Thank you! Jim

So I thought my laptop was dusty inside. Opened it up and there was indeed some dust here and there. But not much. I decided to do this because recently my hard drive has been making a whining/buzzing noise. Usually during powering on the laptop, and sometimes when I try to play old, low intensity games. For example, when I played Civ 3, during launch it would lag, and then while playing, it would lag during each turn I would take. My laptop is a 2015 HP Pavilion, Beats Audio, Core i5 with the standard 8 GB of RAM. I’m confused why such easy games either lag or crash. I never had the problem before, and definitely hadn’t heard sound coming from the hard drive. Do you have any ideas as to why this is?
