The cable for the 2nd non-existent hard drive is for power, not data. There is an unused SATA slot on the board. If I am reading that right. You will need another SATA cable, not a Y cable.

8:45 I used that PCIe port for Inateck Superspeed 7 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card. (I powered it by 6 pin power cable that comes out power supply, I had to get cable, 6 pin Female to 6 Pin Female. AND only then 6 pin male to SATA POWER female) There's 2nd Data Sata port for hard drive right next to 1st one. It's bottom right from ram sticks There's a lot of configurations of HP590. Some 4 core, some 6 and some 8... Overall I like mine, maybe because it has i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz, plus 128G SSD, plus 1T HDD, plus some card that can run 2 monitors for office use. BUT I had to pay $700.

Thanks for the video btw. That helped me in getting to the memory slots. Of course you can't adjust any of the timings or speed in the BIOS thanks HP! The good news. You can run a Quadro P2200 graphics card with such a weedy pathetic power supply. I am amazed really. Just as well the single slot cards don't require the extra power connector. BTW anyone else reading the system I have here is the AMD Ryzen version whereas the one in the video is the Intel.

I have 3 ideas. 1) You can leave the door off the case (cheapest method). 2) You can buy a replacement ATX side door (I'm not sure what it's really called) on eBay that has a lot more holes in it (but may not be compatible as far as the connection to the case). 3) You can buy more case fans (but your power supply may not have enough power connections so you may need Y power splitters to make more power connections).

Sorry for the late reply. Please watch my other video. It is titlted, "Video Card Fit for HP Pavilion 590-p0057c". As for the power supply, I would just try to use your existing one since the case is probably proprietary and to buy a new PS would probably have to come from HP. Try your current PS and see if your computer can handle the new video card as is before trying to seek a replacement. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6GTapzY1L3w.html

As we both know, the power supply is more important than the stock HP case. I'd say go ahead and buy the power supply (PS). You'll know the HP case is proprietary when the screw holes of the PS don't line up w/ the screw holes in the case. Either way, can you reply back here when you find out if the case is proprietary or not? I suspect that it is but I don't know for sure.

The short answer is yes, however I have heard that HP cases (and power supplies) are proprietary in nature, meaning they don't necessarily fit w/ parts from other brands. The current power supply has a 310 watts max rating. I took measurements of the existing PSU in case you were considering replacing it. Dimensions (LxWxH): 163x93x72 (mm) Height is the limiting factor since it shares space w/ the motherboard, so height should be 72mm or less. Width has to be less than 145mm if it is to fit inside the case.
