Hi,
This video shows how to troubleshoot pretty much all the laptop while you have black screen problem. But make sure you do the primary method first before go to the deep work. Because mostly it works with the primary solutions on this videos shows.

Very basic possible issue is the video chip is busted, same as mine, I brought it to the technician, he say's video chip needs replacement and costs a lots like u just wanna dump the laptop and buy a pc instead Lol XD

wow i tried it yesterday but i exposed the gpu on a hot plate stove , tested the motherboard and it worked , i was a bit skeptical and yet it worked...thanks a lot

this is why dv2000 got recall bad graphic chip this method may only work few months then it will go again

it's for temporary, 2 or 3 month top. not permanent solution.. capitalism forbid you to use OLD machines :-D

I've just reflowed mine with a hot-air gun - it worked for a day, but went back to the 3 beeps. Good idea with the coins, though I'd be afraid to use as many as you did - if most of the bga balls become molten while heating, you will end up wiith a sheet of solder under your GPU!!!
