I was able to take apart my laptop and fix the cables using this video. Saved me at least a couple hundred dollars, if not more. Thanks so much for doing this video!
Thank you very much - I've replaced a dozen laptop screens so the conciseness of this video regarding the specifics of this laptop was extremely helpful.
I know this is an old video, however, my wife loves her probook 4545s - I'm and IT person but still need this refresher - Thanks for the thorough video.
Thank you very much for this step by step video. I just finished repairing my laptop. To all those who are having problems, my suggestion is that you watch the video several times and go very slow, I mean really slow. Ideally do it when there is nobody at home and you are alone and during daylight. Don't rush. If I could repair my laptop, anybody can do it and I am not an engineer. Thank you Screen Surgeons.
This is an old video but I have an old laptop. This video helped me to replace the video cable in my 4540s. No more fritz when I tilt the screen! Thanks!
I have an HP Probook 450 G1 and following this tutorial works beautifully, except in order to remove the hinge covers on the 450, you pop out the front, close the lid, and pull from the bottom rather than the top. Very helpful, thank you!
Well done. Clear and very helpful. On my HP the video cam circuit board at the top behind the screen is floating in its plastic socket so be sure to seat it correctly before applying any pressure to the top of the screen to seat it.
Good video! If you dont want to scratch your laptop to much then sometimes using a guitar pick, for seperating parts like the screen border, is helpfull.
I enjoyed this video very much. My mouse was accidentally chucked at my 4540s screen and now colors are all over the place. I think it's cheaper to just replace the entire computer than buy the screen and then go through this process and possibly burn 81 dollars if I mess up (Apple taught me that). It still plugs into my monitor so I'll be extracting all the information from the hard drive.
Great video. My only concern is that the part number you mentioned for this screen is not found on the back of my screen though my hp is a probook 4540s.
That is realy useful, thanks a lot. I would like to know if the screen caracteristic is important, does it have to be a LP156WH4 (TL)(R1) or any other LP156WH4 is good ? or even any LP156WH ?
I can't even get the hinge covers off. All I've succeeded in doing is breaking hobby knife blades and gouging the hell out the covers. That's a nice little motion you do getting them off but i struggle like hell to try and manipulate and it won't even move. Glad it's easy for everyone else; that's the story of my life.
He probably should have gave a close up of the covers, the top front is easier to unclip because its just a small tabbed lip, the bottom side has a deeper tab inside, I used two smaller eye glass screwdrivers to unclip the bottom before it slip out relatively easily.
hello i have an exact model of that laptop, i was wondering if the white from the back is illuminated becouse i d like to cut the hp logo and make it iluminated
PackFanFlorida, should work in either windows or OSX/Linux/whatever :) im waiting to upgrade mine after the holidays when i have some extra free money to spend on it. Trying to decide if ill be going with the glossy or matte/flat display, they both have their benefits and draw backs. So this gives me some extra time to decide that and find the best model/lcd to use for my needs/final choice :)
I replaced screen using this video in 2014-2015. I loved that computer, but one day it wouldn’t turn on. I think it’s the wire/cable. Do you have a video on replacing it?
The procedure you showed removing the hinge covers is way off of how the tabs are oriented on the bezel. Causing me to brake half of the tabs. You should explain that the bottom side needs to be pushed in and the top side needs to be pulled away. I removed the second hinge with little to no damage to the tabs once understanding how they are actually secured. Thumbs down.
You're right. It's actually MUCH easier to start removing the hinge covers as shown in the video. Then, flip computer over and just push them straight out from the back pushing on the tab.
Hi. What is the difference between your screens and those on Amazon for $45-$50? I already have tools. My original screen shows it was manufactured in China. So, aren't they all about equal? Thanks.
Hi, just asking if the screen of 4530s is the same/compatible as hp probook 4540s..they are the on size of 15.6.. I need someone to confirm so that i can proceed and buy new screen.. Tia
