The reason you are having the always partly powered on issue is due to the wiring of the front panel. Many times there are a couple jumpers you need to make in order to fix that problem and get rid of the warning messages you’re seeing when you turn on the system. You can get rid of the F1 to continue this way. You may also need to jumper one or two of the USB ports. I found using a wire wrap tool and 28 gauge wire wrap wire is the best way to jumper pins without interfering with plugging cables in.
@@optimallyobscureperformanc6264 yes I used nuts just like you and my temps have been fine nowhere near 100c like has been mentioned. I shall dig the computer out of the pile and do a cinebench and test it's temp so u can compare.
@@fundude53 Well, if that's not too much of a hassle it would be helpful of course, if you do that it would also be interesting to know what CPU yours is.
@@optimallyobscureperformanc6264 ive took some photos oof how its mounted but i will need your email or facebook name on who/where to send them as for temps i cant get it above 50c so u defiantly got some issues going on
It could be the CPU that u are using u could swap it out for another or try undervolting it slightly. Also set fan profile to max in bios but it will be noisey as hell. Mines loud all the time
i saw a video doing this same swap ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zxw_4KV5DHM.html&ab_channel=DLMtechgarage and he said to be sure to use plastic washers with those blots on the back of the board for the CPU cooler
My processor heats up by a hundred degrees in games only, but in normal browsing it does not do this, but I did not make any modifications to the processor
Hi, hello, I also want to change but I'm not finding the correct nuts for the cooler, are they m3 or m4? Do you have the ebay website where you bought it? and the usb 3.0 no longer gives error? which converter? Are the front ports working? thanks
Nuts are in the description. Front usb 2 and 3 working (extender cable in the description), but still gives other errors on boot (PSU fan related maybe) which have to bypassed by pressing F1.
@@HITOMO-ge9jo That's possible, if that 1060 card is small enough, but it's a bit sketchy, as the PC is sff and card full height, i did a similar thing with an RX570: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1xyyhRu6nRE.htmlsi=UTOPIpwzTPSZfQP7

i did that and few years later my pc started malfunctioning and when i toke the processor out the processor was full of holes were the pins connect to the socket on the motherboard and after one day it stopped working
Hi there. Could you , or anyone else here, could help to elaborate on the differences between your cable and the very similarr one for the HP Eliite 8000 series, please?!
I am not sure if that is compatible or incompatible. Could do damage if incompatible. I would go with one that's for the correct model do be safe. Despite ordering one for the correct model, i got one that was wired incorrectly and had to fix it, so watch out.
The power cable adapter works on several HP models. I found on Amazon this cable has lots of user reviews revealing what systems the adapter works with.
Hello there! I have done the same with a HP Prodesk 400 G2 MT but an error msg appear "922-Front USB 2 Not Connected" and I have to press F1 key to boot... any ideas how to solve the issue?
Yeah, this is the problem with these HP's... In my case it complains about PSU fan too and i don't think i could fix that so i didn't even bother trying. If that USB 2 is the only error you get you could try connecting the original front USB2 and hiding it somewhere in the case. Unless the power button pins are in the same header, then that's a problem. I bet someone in some forum has an answer.
I have hp 656961-001 hp motherbaord it is a small form factor so its not a standard motherboard size so my question will it fit in an atx mid tower? Cuz i really want to upgrade my case
It looks like that mobo is from HP Pro 6300 and very non-standard, won't probably fit in any standard case. Pcie slot and i/o panel locations are flipped compared to standard layout. It sucks that HP did that.
@@RandomPersonThatLives This PC (prodesk 600/elitedesk 800) is not the best thing to caseswap, on this video i show the multiple reasons why, i would rather recommend a lenovo M93p for example.
@@RandomPersonThatLives It is possible to caseswap but more difficult than other PC's, and you won't get a clean result, error messages on boot and you have to use PSU switch to turn fully off.
Hi, there. Did the special specification of the HP motherboard affect your consideration when picking the case to swap it into? I mean... Is it still a standard micro ATX motherboard with every mounting holes lined up?
@@FollyChang not MATX just atx. I have a matx mobo in the same exact case I just did a k swap too and the hp pro desk is standard atx sized, OR somewhere in the middle BUT the screws DO like up unlike half of the Dell optiplex models out there. Did a k swap on a 7040 it was awful
4-pin fan header on the motherboard. Some prodesks don't have that header, in this video at 2:30 i solder on a fan header: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qmyNx3q6sjA.html&ab_channel=OptimallyObscurePerformance
Dear write which processor should I buy hp prodesk 600 g1 twr motherboard 18e7 processor 4130 I want to install Intel Core i7-4770 or Intel E3-1240 V3 sorry google transmitter
I have a 600 g2 sff and I want to replace the power supply with an atx one I don't care if it hangs outside as long as I power the GPU I plan on getting. Will the PSU connectors work with the motherboard or do I need adapters???
i have the same 600 g2 sff in order to put standard PSU you need an adapter or you can pick up hp PSU but your watt is gonna be limited i have managed to get one it was made for HP prodesk G1 Microtower it has 320W PSU it's working flawless with my new GPU
@@johnnytaylor1243 what I'm going to do is to save up for rtx a2000 it has 3050 performance while only pulling 75 Watts and will fit in my case. It's expensive but I'm getting a refurbished one at 249$
This PC has a non-standard CPU cooler mount, so that would be very difficult. Also it would not really make sense as you cannot overclock CPU's on this motherboard anyway.
@@optimallyobscureperformanc6264 thanks for the information, I was asking about the cooling because I wanted to place an intel core i7 4770k and the truth is that the temperature rises, so liquid cooling is better than air cooling
Do you think the aorus cooler liquid 240 for amd theadripper processors can be placed on this board? I think it's possible because of its size, maybe it can fit.
@@tecnohuevo9957 Liquid cooling is not always better than air cooling. Liquid cooling mainly provides a "buffer" because the liquid can absorb a lot of heat, and because of this the rise of CPU temperature and ramping up of fan speed will be slower than on an air cooler, but under continued load, when the liquid has heated up the CPU temps and fan speed will rise to the same point as with an air cooler, if not higher. Liquid coolers have their use cases, but they are often misleadingly marketed, Gamers Nexus made a very good informational video about that.
@@tecnohuevo9957 You mean would a threadripper cooler fit? I haven't tested but probably no, the placement of mounting holes needs to match exactly. In your situation i would first test that i7 with the original cooler, it is surprisingly good. Also i would rather buy a non-k variant of i7, those are usually cheaper and with this mobo k and non-k variants will perform almost the same, no major advantage of k variant because it cannot be overclocked with this board.
Yeah that's what i said, i guess it's the mounting mechanism with the nuts. I don't know about dangerous, it just means it slows the CPU down when it hits 100 so it doesn't go over that but sure, i wouldn't recommend using it like that. I'll see if i can do something to the temps.
