Lisa's a REAL tech youtuber. She talks about coding, firmware's effect on user experience, Windows' indexing, etc. And I am sure she know a lot more. Most other so-called "tech youtubers" don't know and never talk about this kind of stuff, and they probably should just call themselves "user experience youtubers," because all they talk about is really just user experience.
Hey i never really stopped to stay this but. I am really happy with your channel. You are pretty clear and specific and enjoy getting your take on these things. Thanks and best of luck with your channel!
You are my go to reviewers. Not once have you identified one computer better or worse. You do your homework and tell it as is. I have purchased two computers you reviewed and I thank you. I love you smack down reviews. So many of the so called professional reviewers on RU-vid are so biased. Perhaps because the computer has been given to them. I call that Amazon reviewing as the reviews can't be honest. Every time I go to RU-vid I first check to see if you have something new. Thanks again.
thank you so much for the very thorough review, I've been waiting for your review of this one and i did miss the pictures of your lovely cat in the display review 😊 still unable to decide though between the x2 and the 360 15 for some cad work and pen use and battery life another thank you. and keep up the good work.
The touchpad is pretty poor compared to Surface, and as a main means of input, I'd rather spend the little bit extra to get the Surface Pro. Surface Pro also has a better design and appearance (IMO) and runs cooler and quieter across every model.
MobileTechReview I need you help if you could please answer. I do online sales from home. I need something that can handle basic pic editing like I don't on my phone. Can handle multi tasking well i5 or i7 1TB memory a solid motherboards Bluetooth capability and less than US $750. Preferable 14-15.6 inch screen. I prefer touch screen but that's not a must. Any advice?
Which is better:- 1) This laptop? Spectre. 2) Dell XPS? 3) Surface Book/ Surface Pro 4) Razorblade Stealth? 5) MacBook Pro? In my mind these are all 9/10. If I had to rate them I'd go as follows- 1st: Dell XPS 2nd: Razorblade Stealth 3rd: MacBook Pro 4th: Microsoft Pro/Book 5th: HP Spectre What do you think?
I really appreciate this video and continued reviews of these kinds of devices with some insight for digital artists and students, etc. While I am looking towards getting a Microsoft Surface Pro, for the spec requirements I want/need, I am not looking forward to their steep pricing so I am still window shopping for now (no puns intended).
1. I love her channel... My go to for tech reviews. 2. This seems like a solid competitor to the SP5.... However, the battery life doesn't sound satisfying, and it's hard to go away from the fan-less i5 and very quiet i7 (which also happens to outperform it). Great contender though! Also looks very sharp!
Thanks again Lisa. You've become my go-to person on RU-vid for tech advice - and I've only discovered you like 2 weeks ago! Cheeky question: is Civilisation the only game you play? ;)
On Ultrabooks with integrated graphics, yes. Watch our gaming laptop reviews to see the games I play on more powerful machines meant for serious gaming :)
Haha just kidding, Lisa. I've no doubt you'd have a plethora of games with you. Thanks again for the super-useful information you give :) enjoy the good weekend!
Hello Lisa, I'm planning to upgrade my Samsung TabPro S. It will either be the Spectre X2 or Samsung Book 12 inch, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage. Could you please do a smackdown between the the two?
Great review, Lisa. Every bit of information one needs to know to decide to buy or not to buy it. Would you be interested in reviewing the upcoming 13" Razer Blade Stealth laptop is you can get your hands on one?
Theres a catch!! .. My spectre x2 died twice for no reason within 6 months this year and i cant be bothered repairing it for the third time with hp.. i really want to buy this new version but i just cant risk spending this much for something that doesnt last for at least 1.5 years.
Lisa, i was going to request you do a review of the Spectre X2 yesterday but decided against it and here you are with the review. Perfect timing, as I've had mine for two weeks. You are spot on about the heat, this thing is MUCH hotter than my SP4. You don't notice it when holding it awhile, as it is so gradual but put it down and come back a minute later and you definitely notice the difference. I was slightly disappointed in this review because it seemed rushed compared to others you did. Any chance you could test two things in your smackdown: 1. The X2 doesnt seem to recognize the pen as quickly as the SP4, so quickly coming in to select something onscreen ends up requiring 2 to 3 taps at times. 2. A real life battery smackdown with the 2017 Surface Pro and the Spectre X2.
Hey Lisa! could you suggest an affordable laptop with the latest specs! I am a computer science university student! Thank you! P.S your reviews are AMAZING!!!
Given that it's HP, does it include a lot of bloatware? Throttling can often be reduced by uninstalling crapware. Using something like Process Lasso can also make a huge difference by limiting some background tasks.
I need your vote between surface pro 2017 and Lenovo x1 tablet second gen. Which one will you choose and why?. considering i am a moderate user mainly for office, web browsing and social media. i prefer to have the best battery life available. Thank you for your excellent reviews.
Great review on this spectre Lisa! Just bought it and I love the tablet but I hate the fans. didn't realise how often the fans would be running and how loud they would be. do you have any suggestions for the best windows tablet I can get right now that is 12" and under $1500 and is fanless/silent?
After several months of occasional viewing I finally subscribed. Your experience and knowledge come thru very clearly and I've decided to make my choice based on your reviews. Currently using a MacBook Pro 2009 17 inch with 4 gb. I believe I'm done with Apple and am considering a new Surface pro, probably an I5 model with 8 gb ram for general computing. I finally got sick to death of my gadgets not having an upgrade path using an Apple computer and really wanted a tablet experience.
Can you connect a battery bank to laptop and charge it on the go? The previous version I read you can not do this. Also is there issues with using USB adaptors that have multiple ports? Thanks for the information!
I did a quick search in your lists but didn't see if you have reviewed a eve v crowd funded tablet I would love to hear your perspective you do a really good job with all of your content =]!
hi Lisa ... thanks a lot for the review. Was wondering if you could do a smackdown between the Spectre X2 and the Spectre X360 13 inch model with 4k. Thanks.
how is this cheaper if the $1299 i7 performance still can't beat Surface Pro's i5? granted there's quite a significant cut on keyboard and pen acc cost, and bigger faster HDD, but that comment on gaming performance concern me... is it because the i7's high temps makes it throttling thus renders it non contributing in performance? if so, will the i5 emit less heat and perform faster without throttling?
Even more limited on ports than the Surface Pro. I think that kills this machine. You can't even charge it, add external screen and mouse at the same time. If it would have 1 thunderbolt port it would be a good competitor, as that would give it an option to add a proper dock.
Hi Lisa, Looking for a lightweight laptop, emphasis on lightweight for programming. Was looking at this Hp and the smaller MacBook. I have a spec'd out MacBook Pro at home, but need something small and light that I can travel with. I don't play PC games and running basically repl.it or sublime and some basic browsing and email. Are there any recommendations? Thank you
hi Lisa... what is the difference between hp elite x2 vs hp spectre x2??? secondly, will hp elite x2 with intel core m,8gb,and 256gb ssd faster than surface pro 3 intel core i5,8gbram and 256gb ssd? hp elite intel core m,8gb,256gb,brand new with warranty we may get for 600us dollar? is it worth it?tc
Lisa, I am typing on spectre x360 2017 model. I still haven't got the creators update why is that so?? By the way, i love this laptop just bought it a few days ago. Best 13-inch Windows laptop in the market.
Microsoft wants to be sure everything is compatible and that nothing will break with the new update so they are doing a slower rollout. Its much better to wait then to get a update early with bugs and having to troubleshoot.
thanks for the reply. When will I receive creators update??? Or do i have to wait for fall creators update because it's coming in 2 months. Microsoft what are you doing??
You can manually get it anytime you like. When you're on the Updates section in Windows settings, there's a link to get updates not listed. You can also go to Microsoft's Windows webpage and start the process from there.
Would love to see a review on the new Asus T304UA. Port wise, and price wise it beats all the surface clones, but I know the T303UA which it replaces was not the best.
MobileTechReview Thanks! I found it on their web site. Google kept bringing up Wacom's Duo, with actual ink for paper, because my search terms were wrong. Sigh.
