I have the Polaroid Zink printer from years ago. One thing to make note of is to NOT put direct heat on the prints. The Zink paper is thermosensitive, the printer doesn't have ink in it, the paper makes the colors based on temperature from the printer. Don't run the prints through a hot laminator or under a heat embossing tool, or you'll end up with mud.
I was on the verge of buying an instant camera (it was in my Amazon cart) when I stopped to watch this video. SO glad I did! The Sprocket printer has so many more capabilities and features, PLUS you can edit photos and have more control over what you print -- this is a real special-paper-saver. Thank you for sharing!
Use the PicFrame app to get your photos sized for printing. On that app you can remove the white borders completely or thicken them, whatever you want.
Thank you for this video! I got a sprocket for Christmas and I've been afraid to use it much because of the paper cost. Thanks for the great ideas and ways to get the most out if it!
Such a great, informative video! :) and I love the journal inspiriration you showed. Your voice is very calming to listen to, which made the video even more enjoyable :) thank you
I have the Polaroid printer. I bought it with a coupon so I got it for a steal at Michaels. The photo packs aren't bad with a coupon either. That's where that 60% off coupon matters....lol. Thanks for showing me how to utilize my printer for journaling.
I just got one of these and the current software lets you do collages. You might want to edit each photo separately to get the brightness where you want it before you select them and put them in a collage. Warning: be sure you only have your collage photo selected before you print so you don't get each one separate AND the collage cos no or wants to waste that much photo paper!
Oh thanks James, I was feeling pretty crappy today and this video just brightened my day, i cracked up laughing when you blew away the rubber residue and your little photos went everywhere and when you drew the little hanging for the picture frame, so exactly how mine would turn out-all wonky. You could say I'm a bit addicted to pocket printers i have a sprocket and the new Prynt printer plus two instax printers and two instax cameras, yep Im a gadget girl. Do I use them as much as I should? No way. I have always wondered how to get the teeny tiny photos never would have thought to size them at 6x4 thank you I am now going to get them out and play.
I love this idea !!! Too cute !!! Polaroid was always expensive and I HAD to have one of those even when I had just gotten my Canon AE 1 !!! SPLURGE ON !!!
I did buy the option to change the borders, as I use pic stitch as well. I highly recommend it. It’s a one time purchase and it is fantastic. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the great ideas, I got a sprocket for Christmas and haven’t used it much yet. But now after watching this I’m ready to start journaling and printing.
I've had my sprocket for about a year and I LOVE it. I use it all the time to make fun mini photo's for my journal. I use the free Photofy app. for my collages. Very easy app to use. I usually do 3 or 4 images any smaller it gets to small for me ! LOL . Best gift I ever bought myself !
i just ordered a second hand one for my school notes and came across this video! I love love love your personality and laugh it’s so contagious!!! My trash cat ❤️
Perfect timing...I bought a Sprocket a few weeks back and was going to look for an app to print multiple photos on one sheet. It works great! Thanks much! :-)
I have the Polaroid printer and it is so easy to use. The cover for it broke so ended up buying the HP 2-1. I like it but having a problem printing. I can't stop it from printing the same picture over and over again no matter what I do. I have tried everything trying to find a solution and can't find anything on it. My friend sent me a PDF file that shows how to use the print but there is nothing that addresses my issue. I just reset the HP 2-1 print thinking maybe that work resolve my issue but now it won't print and I can't power it off. This HP 2-1 printer didn't even come with a Guide as my Polaroid printer did. I loved your video and hope you can help.
OMG James, I just bought my Sprocket tonight and of course you would have the exact video I'm looking for on your channel. I just did the mini pics from Pic Stitch and its amazing LOL I love it. Thank you so much for always showing us way around things and also to save money. Much appreciated, BTW I LOVE your channel :)
Love this. Makes me want to pull out my polaroid zip printer and give it another shot. I bought it last year on a whim and got a pack of paper for free. Then I didn't like how the images came out. And found out the sprocket is well known to have the best image print outs among the portable printers. I was upset with myself. I have a collage app I use for instagram and its free. It's called photogrid on android. I never thought to try multiple pics on one page. Or play with the settings before printing. So I'll give it a go again.
A great lover of all things Japan too, and have been considering the sprocket plus for travel and in the use of my passport size Midori, worrying that the plus size would take a whole page but you've shown me a way around this, love your creativity! Thanks for the great video.
Hey James! I use pic stitch also and refuse to buy the borders pack. If you click in to borders, and then back out, mine offers me a chance to use the borders if I watch an ad. It only lasts for "one photo", but if you don't go back out all the way and just change the photos from the last one after you saved it, you can continue to get bordless. I hope that makes sense! I am too cheap to buy an app and I've found that pic stitch works best, especially once borders are gone!
I was wondering about the little pics you had in the Japan notebooks. I love that you can make different sizes and stencils with the apps! Yeah, it might be a must now that I see it in action!
Wow, what an underappreciated channel! Just found you and I love this video. Great information. Love your travel journals and the little paper cutter. Getting smaller prints from the Sprocket to do those collages is inspired! Subscribed! :D
Love this idea! I have been loving my sprocket but the pics take up more space than I'd like in my planner and yes, the paper is expensive. I"m trying this out right now. So excited! Thank you for sharing. I should have known, "there's an app for that".
Fun video! I love the cute little pic of Oliver The Garbage Cat...don't tell him I said that...well, maybe you should if it will embarass hi enough to stop eating out of the garbage. You didn't talk me into buying a Sprocket but I still want one even more!
Just bought one of these at JB HiFi. I went in looking for a Canon Selphy and there was no stock so I got this. Thanks so much for your review. Still thinking if I will keep it.
Hi James, just want to ask what size or where did you get the travel journals? It seems half the size of a5 and would love to use as a travel journal too. Thanks
They're standard Travelers Notebook inserts - I think the actual size of them is about 8.5 x 4.5 inches. Here is a link to what they are: amzn.to/37ErUuQ
Ahhh, I loved this so much! What I love even more is that little character sticker thing you put on the cat photo😂😂 I am pretty sure that is the character of 'dog' in chinese or japanese so I just found it so ironic. Love this vid though!
Of all the information on the Sprocket printer , nothing is mentioned about the adapter that is not included can I use my phone charger adapter or do I need to buy one , if I have to buy one where do I get this from .
It's actually cheaper your paying for paper for your not paying for ink there is no in convolved with the printing most printers have think so yet the pay extra with paper and ink
I’m not sure, you might be able to link your social media in the app? Mine is so old now, I would probably just screenshot whatever I wanted to print, crop it and print it that way :)
If you download Instants itunes.apple.com/gb/app/instants-photo-edition/id947399666?mt=8 - it'll create little polaroids for you! Obviously it takes up some of the photo real estate making your pics smaller, but they look great when you do it! I also make mini pics using my sprocket - I loved the honeycomb one and must buy PicStitch so I can use that!! My only issue with my sprocket is that it prints slightly heavy in the red spectrum and I don't know how much to adjust it to get it right and experimenting with the settings could get - as you say - expensive! Following you on Social Media 😘
