Seems annoying that they had a spot for a second SSD (NVME) but they didn't include the port allow for it. They could have added it, and added another $100 to the price.
@@xxrelaxbrotherxx you mean 16 series have 2 slots and 15 series have 1 slot? as far as I see since 16s have seperate fans they could include second m2
Does anyone know if the socket can be soldered on to the solder pads for the 2nd SSD? Would it be recognized in the BIOS? I guess I'm not the only one pissed off at HP for designing the slot for the 2nd m.2 SSD, but then not adding the socket. I do some surface mounted soldering for flight controllers and ESCs. Replacing f7 chips, mosfets, etc. If it would be recognized I know I can add the socket.
@@daviddominguez1157 No, I haven't tried it. I might when I replace this laptop, but for now I needed a new laptop, paid over a thousand dollars for this one and am not about to try something that may break it. If I knew it would work without damaging the laptop, I'd definitely do it though.
the hardest case (and screws), I've ever encountered to open. My tip(s) start gently at the back w/ either finger nails or plastic tools (available in mini electronics screwdriver kits at Walmart). Patience, it's not just you. Recommend you do NOT start where he does in the video. All that work, just to have ONLY the RAM upgrade ability.
Correct, personally I've never had an issue leaving it connected But I have had a few people comment they have damaged their laptop when they didn't disconnect it
@@rickstechrepairsany brand can fit in this laptop right? I need to find ddr4 ram with the same speed as my original ram right?and can i use different brand and make it dual channel? For example hynix and Samsung?
Legend, thank you so much, i really needed help but i do have one question, i am adding a crucial gen 4 1TB nvme, should i replace the current ssd drive or add it to the second ssd slot?
Can we install an m key that we buy or get it installed into that slot for extra storage, or will it not work, I'm asking because I'm trying to add 1 TB of storage into my laptop of the same HP victus brand?
Have this issue with my HP omen 15 (got it in 2018), dropping my brightness helps, or having it plugged in. Otherwise there doesn't seem to be a fix. Waiting to get the HP Victus but kinda bummed I can't add extra RAM
I have the same model.. of hp victus and screen flickering is the major issue I had felt... I tried to update the BIOS but still it won't go away.. the cursor of the mouse also sometimes freezes.

Not sure why you removed that antenna keeper/ static shield for wifi antenna. 7:13 Also that’s a terrible way to remove the lid. You damaged it, and broke a bunch of clips.
Man what kind of tools you used to open the back panel I can't able to open it after removing screws no matter how hard i pull it didnt open even used credit card and all its soo tight fit im afraid of breaking my laptop 😭 please help
@@rickstechrepairs but even if it is soldered good, will that read or shows the m.2 nvme ssd , coz mine expandable upto 1tb, if i add extra m.2 nvme ssd will it reads?
i didnt replace parts just removed and reinstalled the factory parts if i was to upgrade i would use the following: 2x 16GB DDR4 3200mhz Sodimm (Crucial brand) 1x TeamGroup MP33 1TB NVMe (Budget 1TB NVME Drive)
Most probably it will work. But it's just a safety precautions. I did many upgrade SSD/Ram without disconnecting battery for my friends & customers. And never encountered any issues. But in theory the bord can get fried.
