My first rc kit was a Baja 5b ss. I had only bought RTR's before that. It takes a while but his videos make it easier to get it together. It is a great way to learn about the baja when it comes to repairing it or maintaining it. Go for it! You won't regret it. I have a 29cc 5SC ss kit on the way.

Hey Eddie, i'm finding it impossible to get the HPI Baja shock oil ! I'm in Brisbane QLD Australia, i've been told not to use silicon oil as it foils the seals. i did get the 5w HPI oil & the hobby shop guy said to use it for front & rear, the rears with the 5w HPI oil seems ridiculous as it bounces, like there's no oil in them at all, i watched your vid & re did them but still the same result, the car is bouncy not dampening at all. the fronts with the 5w oil was worse the whole car on the bench was like a trampoline, no dampening just bouncing, i then put 47wAE silicon shock oil in the fronts & instant dampening, they actually felt like a good shock, the rears are still ridiculous with bounce, but i'm rebuilding it & haven't ran it yet so don't know how it handles yet. I'm thinking of putting the 3 hole pistons in the rears & putting 20W ae silicon shock oil in them. I wanted to put 60w silicon shock oil in the front & 40w silicon shock oil in the rear or 40w front 20w rear silicon, what do you think ? my Baja is a modified 5T & has a HSP 30.5 cc engine TR Billet clutch housing with lauterbacher 4 shoe adjustable clutch, TR Brake mod , DDM v2 pipe, Hostile axle extenders, hostile mxt tyres , carb has an RB carb insulator intake , & a ddm shread stack on the carb, quick release airfilter, alot more mods but i don't recall them all as i didn't build it, i got it like that but it was pretty dirty so i'm in the process of pulling it to bits & cleaning & fixing anything i need to plus add some more decent options. one of which is the shocks.I'm thinking seriously of putting Losi 5T shocks on it ? What do you think ? this is the model with the orange shock caps & swing arm braces etc. Not the kit model. Any advice would be appreciated. I haven't got to the diff yet , what do you suggest doing there ? what diff oil ? or mods? Thanks for the help you're giving everyone bud RC is the best hobby, i'm into 1/5 onrd RS-5 , Mugen 1/10 & 1/8 onrd cars & Mugen 1/8 buggy, & an assortment of 1/8 monster trucks & truggys, even still got my first rc car a Traxxas TMAXX with .18 O.S. TM & Traxxas long pipe, it' & all the other trucks are in new cond, i look after my cars, all of them look like new cond, just care & maintenance which is why i had to pull this HPI BAJA 5T down just to clean & go over it & fix or adapt any more good stronger parts. Look forwards to hearing any advice about the shocks etc. Thankyou Tony.
