I'd like to just offer a few tips I've been told over the years & have found helpful. I learned the hard way so please don't think I'm criticising.!! Don't use a hairdryer because that will leave residue, especially in hard water areas. Never use any paint other than Polycarbonate specific spray paint because it's formulated to be flexible & won't crack. It's SUPER IMPORTANT to key (roughen) the inside surface with something exactly like the rough side of that dish sponge, otherwise the paint won't have anything to stick to, the paint fills all the gaps & you won't notice it.! When using scissors don't do a full cut with them because that can introduce tiny cracks which will spread over time. If you want to make your body last longer you can try anything from thick tape to the drywall & "Shoo-goo" (shoo-goo is expensive at around £12 a 25g tube or you can buy tins of 250ml Evo-Stik Impact adhesive for about a fiver). When it comes to window masks & decals you're on your own, I'm terrible at them.! I hope this helps. Stay safe out there & best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️.!
That's alright mate. I'm open to critisism anyway, not fragile or narrow minded like that. I understand there are differences of opinion as well as preference and I'm not narcissistic enough to think what works best for me, is best for everyone else. at least not when it comes to trivial matters so by all means speak your mind. Its refreshing to hear an honest opinion.
It's just a cheap set off eBay but they are copies of the Tamiya rally block tyres which in hind sight might be worth the few extra quid as the diameter of the tyre is slightly smaller and more accurately to scale, so you avoid having to trim more of the body away. In my case I used a 200mm wide body and rims with a 6mm offset, however HPI make the body in 190mm too
