Mine was doing the same thing. CDI turned out to be okay, there’s a mod for the timing sensor to shave it slightly closer to the flywheel. Also replace the plug, and double check the timing sensor position, the hpi manual online shows the correct timing 🫡. After I done all of the above mine starts in 2-3 pulls and runs tank after tank without fault. Awesome truck when you get it going!

This is what put me off the nitro set up to electric. You can just get going with them. I have a hobao hyper 7 and an other one but normally take the armmas with me. Each to their own though. Good videos keep going buddy

Love the hyper7 iv ended up with 15 of them and slowly selling them off because I have other cars that I want to use but I do like the hyper7 so much fun

Had the same problem with mine, your CDI box is probably bad. Replaced mine, problem solved. These first few that rolled off assembly with black exhaust pipes had bad units. The later version with chrome exhaust pipes had then issue fixed.

Frustrating 🥲 I have a FG Marder with a Zenoah 26cc engine (different, I know), it always start very easily. Hope you will solve the issue. Thanks for sharing, I like when you are doing series on a car 👍👍⛽️⛽️🇨🇭🇨🇭

I had one of these brand new and it NEVER. Ran properly and wouldn’t move I raced 5th scale so I know about carb settings etc I gave up and sold it for £100! Looking back I wish I never!
