How well I remember watching these on the old 15" Black and White TV back then. Yeah, back when $9.98 was half a weeks wages. I got the Astro Base 3:00 mark for Christmas 1961. Dad and his buddies totally wrecked the remote control buggy, and jammed the hatch so it wouldn't close. :'(

After Sputnik, everything was space.

I had the Astro Base when I was a kid. Sadly, I took it apart to see how it worked and couldn't ever get it back together right.

Those don't look anything like Atlas or Titan rockets. They couldn't even get the Mercury capsule right
