@@Tsukinotaku Depends on which department you work at and if you’re IT within the company. The surveys are often managed by HR and are done through outside sources, so they are restricted from the actual staff. Plus you have all names surveys and then you have 3 weird ones with either duplicate names and/ir anonymous, I think they’d easily figure out who is who
My previous company tried to shame us by name via company mass e-mail for not having done the company surveys. I caved in after a few years and ended up giving some negative feedback, and suddenly I was told to f off for "no particular reason". Luckily it didn't take long to get a job from their competitor instead.
@@1232lyft the thing about that is, the burden of proof now falls on them. If they were not performing okay, prove it. Did you meet with them, and if so, when did you meet with them, is there proof of the meeting taking place?
You don't really need to directly prove it if you have a lot of circumstantial evidence. Also, they literally described disciplinary action, that must be recorded
I would either tell them it isn't working, and I can't get to the survey or not do the survey but tell them specifically "Yeah. I totally did do the completely anonymous survey. You just don't know that I did it because the point of it is that it is anonymous." Doing the second one makes them either drop it or admit that it isn't anonymous.
@@171akup needing to login isn't automatically sus. Google forums has the ability to ~anonymize~ _disassociate_ responses while giving them a list of the accounts which have responded (to prevent a single person from making multiple submissions, or to track missing submissions such as in this case). nothing is truly anonymous, if someone gets a burr up their ass they can force their way back - even your vote isn't really anonymous.
Fun fact depending on where you live this is illegal and can be considered retaliation thus lawsuits and depending on your benefits the company might unknowingly pay for your lawyer
I worked for a company where the CEO was involved with the head of HR. She was all about building moral and teamwork. Which is fine if you have a problem with moral and teamwork. But there wasn’t until people’s productivity started dropping because they had to attend so many meeting about teamwork and moral. At one such meetings the head of HR asked does anyone have any ideas on how we can improve productivity. One person stood up and suggested cutting out all the moral and team-building meetings. He was fired the next day. So many people were fed up the company had a 40% turnover in the next quarter.
This is the same shit parents do, "tell me what you feel and I will help you" Child: * tells parents their feelings * Parents: * punish child for feeling those feelings * Also parents: idk why my child won't share things with me
Years ago, my dad was an addict before he got help. My grandmother got my brother to open up and talk. Hard thing to do. He told her how he felt about our dad and his ways, behavior, and addiction under the guise of "You can tell me. It's our secret." Welp, it wasn't. Years later, my brother told me how our dad lured him into the garage and BEAT... HIS..ASS. 12 years old being beaten with fist and threatened because his son told the truth and "embarrassed" him to his mama. My dad was the kind... even after he soberd up, that would say, "You can tell me." Then hold it against you and punish you for it. When I was a teenager, and he was moving out, he told me, "Don't ever tell grandma (dad's mom) anything." That's when he told me what our father had done and threatened him not to tell our mom. Smh. We have forgiven what he's done. He's been dead over 18 years, but... we haven't forgotten. It's amazing how his extended family thinks he was this wonderful person. I had to tell a cousin that monsters don't hide under your bed or in the dark. They wear a mask in plain sight. Neither my brother nor myself go to his family reunions. We speak to his sister and brother. Our grandparents are gone now, too. I think part of the reason we don't go to family reunions is because 1 he made us sound like the worst people ever, although he was the problem, and 2 because we don't want to hear how wonderful he was in everyone else's eyes and how great he was to them when we know the truth.
Good thing my dad ain’t like that I broke the system I was trying to be reasonable and he told me to stop talking back I say I’m trying to explain something you jumped to conclusions on he still said quit talking back so I told him you can’t get mad at me if you don’t know the whole story so he sat down I explained and he apologized
HR or management don't know what to do with honesty when they get it. If for example someone were to say "I don't like when you make us work late without notice" what they hear is "I am a bad worker and not a team player, I'm looking for any opportunity to jump ship and take people with me" when what they should really hear is "We all have lives outside of this job and it's disrespectful to take time away from our families to meet your bottom line without so much as a warning in advance." Good companies are those that treat people with dignity and respect and your bottom line isn't nearly as important as the people that help you reach it.
Human resources isn't resources for humans. It's humans as resources. Yall aren't people to the company your just another resource, and they have a whole department who's job is to deal with that resource and keep it in line to best utilise that resource for the company's benefit.
I got in trouble for reporting to a direct supervisor that a employee was making suicidal threats. Apparently i should have stayed in my own lane and minded my buisness 😊
Worked as a welder through a temp company once at a crane factory and was just starting 2 weeks before Christmas time and was doing basically just practice work for the welding test they required there which they gave you 2 weeks for practice, was positive I would pass as it was an easy test but the day before the factory closed down for Christmas they told me I would take the test after Christmas so its be easier on them and this was about halfway through the day and after about 2/3rd the way through the shift everyone’s already left early anyway cause they wanted to go home early and so there werent many people around and in my bay there were 0 people including my supervisor whom I was going to ask to go home but couldnt and left cause I was bored and halfway through the drive home the rep for the temp company calls and asks if ive left and of course I say no because everyone else left and so I did the same and she says she’s gonna have to call my supervisor and talk to him and see what theyre gonna do so at this point I already know im fucked and she calls me back and the first thing that she says is “so I called HR” and if she had left it at just that I still wouldve known I was fired and she goes on and says that HR says that what I did was considered “job abandonment” to which I told her “well I guess theyll have to fire everyone for job abandonment huh cause how are they gonna fire me for leaving when you couldnt even get ahold of my supervisor?” And of course she goes on about excuses and stuff and she hangs up so that’s how I got fired because of bullshit
Got sick, HR wants know exactly what is wrong with me (Privacy law prevents that, but they want to ignore that), they also want to be present when I meet any kind of medical professional (again, this is illegal). And everyone wonders why my condition keeps getting worse.
I had the opposite, my HR lady noticed my managers took me off the schedule after I had called in for bereavement so they wouldn't have to give bereavement pay, she reprimanded them and gave me full bereavement pey
The only anonymous feedback my boss has ever gotten form me was the unsigned letters that me and some other employees left in his home mailbox telling him how close everyone was to quitting if they don’t start fixing shit. He interrogated half the department trying to figure out where the letters came from and threatened the entire building with punishment if no-one came clean. No-one cracked and he ended up getting replaced after his “public breakdown” so I call that a win.
I loved being HR because I also had a business advisor role, so I felt like I could be a voice for the staff. Working many menial jobs, I have absolutely no respect for management that doesn't respect their employees. Thankfully, I worked for a great company, but I still tried to help employees make as much money as they could from the company while staying out of trouble. I've never been a company boyscout, and I never will be. Stay clocked in between meetings, never do anything without getting paid, don't tell on yourself in front of other management without talking to me first, and let me handle any suspicions that come from management. 👍 Your family needs to eat just like my family needs to eat, and that matters more than some of the arbitrary company policies.
At a coffee shop/bakery I worked at, we had an "optional" anonymous survey to fill out about what it was like working, what needed changing, any issues with coworkers etc. We were a team of 12, and you could easily figure out who was who based on how questions would be answered. I didn't really care, saw that it wouldnt be anonymous and was planning to leave soon anyways so didnt answer it, never told anyone this. I proceeded to get pseudo harassed by the manager and a senior staff member to fill it out for "the good of the store" and all that. Complete bollocks.
Remember, HR is to protect the Company from YOU, they are not your friend, they are internal Damage control against the Companys own employees. remember that whenever you speak with them.
Saw a matter of a personal fight between a foreman & team lead get drug into HR... THEY MADE BOTH PARTIES SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER when "figuring out" the situation.... Like that's his boss. There's a power imbalance & you're letting him flex it
My company makes us fill out an annoynomous form on a laptop, we can do it anytime during a certain week. I lie about my age and what time i normally work cause it would point directly to me
Yep if i ever hear "were not from the company" my spidey senses are going off and im gonna be like "can you show proof" and im taking documentation and having it in writing that they are not from the company and not recording the conversation.
Man, why are there so many hierarchies that are so insecure about their position that they feel the need to slap down every inconsequential thing? Just today, my roommate was applying for a new apartment and our current landlord found out, got pissy, and refused to give him the documentation he needed for the application to the new place. The situation resolved itself after we decided that ALL of us would be moving out instead of just him.
My job does it all the time and i never do that stupid ass survey. My manager was telling me he doesnt understand why no one would do the survey and i said because it wont change anything but put targets on the backs of people who see what's really going on around here. He stared at me knowing im right and walked off 😂😂😂
That is where you have them put down in contract and signed that if anything of the information about you gets out on what they call anonymous you are allowed to take ridiculous amounts of damages from the company. anything less by the tiniest amount and anonymous is just synonymous with career suicide
"All personnel and management complaints should come to hr no matter what." young kid heard that and almost instantly went to run his mouth. I almost warned him, but honestly thought I'd be funnier not to. 2 days after his chat with hr, he was fired for poor attendance. His attendance was near perfect. I made a big batch of cookies to celebrate.
Had a manager try force me to do a survey about the company saying it was “anonymous”, filled out all the questions as randomly as I could sent it in and thought nothing more of it, guess who came by the following week asking me to redo the “anonymous” survey …
They tried to fire me because I had heat stroke and couldn’t get out of bed without passing out let alone go into work. I get heat stroke because of the lack of shade and air flow on poolside so when I when to that meeting I showed them all the evidence I had gathered to support my claim and a copy of the health and safety act. They dropped it, I still left that pool as soon as I got into university and I may be back in town again soon for the summer but I’m not going back there.
I worked at a Latino supermarket lancaster C.A. there're only two chains of Latino supermarkets in the area on in all over LA county. The one I worked at is mostly in the AV and the valley. I reported to H.R. that some employees and managers were treating , black employees and customers in a very disrespectful she began to tell me a bunch of stereotypes but she was going to look into, I knew she would. She didn't However, she told managers and some employees that I told. I was demoted a few weeks later. One day I just drove past that job and didn't go back. I didn't give my two weeks. I didn't even give them a call. Now whenever anyone is going to shop there I tell them how rasict the policies are they don't go. If you live in the AV in, I'm sure you know the store don't go there.
HR brought in a ton of interns and scattered them around the plant. HR was in a fight with the Union, so HR used the interns to gather info on the gruff old men and fired a third of the plant over unsavory words alone.
Went to HR to file a complaint against my head nurse. First, they told me i had to speak to my department head. Told them she was the one im filing about. Told them that she has demanded male employees wear whiteboxer shorts under our scrubs. I don't wear boxers or own boxers. I have boxer briefs and regular briefs. Nurse manager starts having "underwear checks" if we didnt have white boxers on she wrote us up. She also wtote up anyone that refused (my first and second write ups in 7 years of employment at that hospital. I also complained that she wrote me up for an incident that happened on a day that i was off, filed by a doc that I knew fir years in and outside work. He said he complained but didn't give a name because he didn't know the guy, meaning it was the new hire, not me and they pulled that up showing i was on duty but "forgot to log in". So she added it when she turned in payroll. I asked if i was going to get paid for it since it would have put me 16 hours overtime (in 93, my 26 dollar an hour pay plus double time on ot, was quite a nice check. So i got my witnesses they wrote statements,i got my login records from the database and from the EKG system i was responsible for and took them to HR. Then in protest o shorted them intentionally by inviting the other ekg managers and techs to a big party and called out for 4 days. My fellows all got called to come in but since we dont get paid for being on call they were unable to get anyone but her to cover the shifts i missed. No one ratted me out, my dr friend wrote me a note saying i was quarenteened to rule out possible TB. When i went back in. Hr had to accept it, and could do nothing because its illegal for healthcare workers to work while they are being tested or treated for such an infectious disease. TBF though, i no longer get tb skin tests opting instead for a chest xray since i previously had a tb tine reaction (i didnt but fuck HR. Its faster and easier that way.) I also waited until our team had a person from each shift on vacation, and came in one night tossed my resignation on the table and told the house supervisor i quit. They werent happy, but i was. She was then demoted to staff nurse a month later because the rest of the night shift EKG workers took other jobs with better pay. A year or so later i was in the ER for an injury from a car crash, not my fault, and she was assigned to be my nurse. Bet your ass i filed complaints about her. My family filed complaints. The ER dr filed a complaint and when they pulled her in to hr, they ordered a drug test she tested positive for amphetamines and opiates. No script. She lost her job, her license, and was dishonorably discharged from the Army Reserve. Life is sweet. And im now retired.
Human resources. They are supposed to be a buffer between employees and their bosses and handle disputes. . . They have a record that is the opposite of that.
Brate i u Hrvatsku isto se zove HR( Human resources) svaka veća kompanija ima HR department. Oni se bave sa ljudima u kompanije kao zapošljene, otkaz, žalbe...
They handle things like time off requests, employee insurance, disciplinary issue, etc. Basically all the administrative stuff related to managing workers that isn't related to the core business. They are the people you go to to relove disputes or complain about issues. They're often presented as being there for the employees, but in reality their job is to protect the company.
They are supposed to protect a company from lawsuits which should theoretically mean it stops companies from breaking the law, but it really means that it puts fear into employees so they don’t sue when the company breaks the law
If I am told something will be anonymous, I will flood it with pornographic language or just make it as negative as possible. All knowing that I can get them in trouble if they show signs that they know what I did.
Anything good HR does is primarily for the benefit of the company and its profits. If it helps you too, ok. Look at the name. You are literally tool that must be taken care of... a Human Resource.
I got sexual harassed and they wouldn't let me go home unless i used my own time, and I didnt want to go back there but i ran out of time so i was forced to work were i was sexually harassed because the bills had to be paid. They didn't give me time off or anything to get better 😞
No one should ever believe that HR is your friend. It stands for Human Resources, and if that doesn't tells you what a company thinks of it's workers, then you need to wake up. You are just another resource to be used and abused.
honestly good on you but most people live from paycheck to paycheck so resigning before finding another job is impossible for most people, and of course I won't say how most people simply are not competent enough to simply resign and find a job immediately
Very difficult to sue . They’ll say they weren’t performing and use that as example . They gave feedback to hr but didn’t directly to there boss so they could improve , that alone shows they aren’t doing there jobs they couldn’t even give Feed back to there bosses but were ready to give it anonymously. It is so difficult to prove retaliation and wrongful termination is even more difficult, the average attorney won’t even take the case .
This has to be illegal, plus why would you do this? I mean what do you stand to gain as an employer? Why menagers think that getting rid of critics will improve things? There's no logic behind this.
Yeah this didn’t happen…sorry. Lawsuit would an effortless victory. Direct lying, surreptitiously recording, playing for managers, followed by immediate punishment lol. Yeah, no.
I remember someone under me complaining about me and then he realized it's me -> a guy who is my friend and will take my side -> Big Boss who also likes me There was no help for the bastard.
