telework denials: The principle shared the reasons that are not accepted for telework request. It seems like it is impossible to get a telework acceptance

I feel like we're in a catch 22. I appreciate my union and I love my union leaders . (Thank you Corey). But as a sped teacher I've Baseline tested my students and have noticed significant regression......there was no data to refer to when it came to 5 and a half months of no education...and let me clarify ....the 4th quarter was a bust. Students knew they weren't graded. I want my students in school. They need it ! And it is imperative ! How can we expect FSC students to distance learn? Without their skills trainers and RBTs especially let alone mainstreamed SLD students. Im stuck between a rock and a hard place

I have have a much different experience with my returning sped prek kiddos. I am happy to see them returning without marked regression and have actually have seen the majority with improved speech and language skills. Kuddos to families helping support ! They are “adjusting “to being back at school with new routines and procedures that aim to provide a learning environment that is as “safe “as possible, but is incongruent with their developmental needs. It is difficult to see that. A. This is not truly safe with continued COVID-19 community spread, classrooms not being cleaned and sanitized daily, kiddos coming to school with fever/illness, etc. And B.Even as creative as you get , this is not the best for theIr social and emotional development . At this point, I definitely believe everyone is safer at home and will work above and beyond to support parents and kiddos via distance learning . Also special education services are supposed to meet individual student needs. So saying all FSC or Prek or other Sped ALL need in person is not appropriate. It is not supposed to be “a one size fits all “ .
