I installed a Stealth 4.0 onto my 2014 Hsv Clubsport R8 340 Sv Here are my thoughts Please Comment below what you think and if you want any other videos!
Matty, for the money it makes sense to have more control over throttle sensitivity, it’ll put a smile on your face if nothing else. I knew how responsive sport mode would be but I was shocked at eco mode really slowing the car down and making it tame if that’s what you want I guess!
Thanks mate, been um'n and ar'n whether to get one of these or not and you've made the decision easy, I 'm gonna get one. I've got a 6.2L with a harrop 2650 blower and I reckon this will be the cherry on top to give it max performance. Thanks bro, really appreciate the post.🤙
Hey mate did u get it I got a manual supercharged ve (646hp) and I hate the lag in the throttle response i hoped that if I bought a manual I would not have this issue but it does and from this vid its the damn computer (wish the car was old fashioned way on a cable) ?
@@marcd8576 hey bro, won't go into all the technical stuff cause I can't explain it well enough but I got one on line from a place in Melbourne and took it to the place that did the cam and blower. I was strongly advised not to have it installed and in fact they said they wouldn't install it. The reasoning behind is to do with the effect it would have on the tuning or ecu mapping. I left it out, and some weeks later travelled interstate to visit family and while there went to a performance place that do all types of go fast work and they also said the same thing. I am now going to sell the throttle controller. Hope this helps bro. I've got a manual as well and I have that bit of delay as well but while I would like the response to be more instant, it hasn't caused me to loose any races yet and I try to load it up in the lowest gear and then quick shift up when I get into it. The person who tunes it can make a difference also.
@@stewiegriffin5084 cheers man I knew it wasn't a good idea, it's seems like cheap mod that plays with the computer too much, like your begging for trouble...I'll call my two tune shops here in Melbourne (GM motorsport & All Sparks Performance) and see what they say aswell. Cheers for the info
I have a series one 2014 VF SSV L77. I wonder how one of these would go for fuel economy as well as throttle response. I know you cannot have both at the same time but the economy mode is a good idea as well as the power modes etc. I have otr and will be getting a tune soon.
Great video man keep it up also, you might not want to show your license plate unless you are on "private" roads had a mate who lost his license and got his car impounded for "hooning" due to a facebook video
Hey mate I have a 2004 vy commy Ute and really want a throttle controller but cannot find any for my model, do you know if the throttle controller is made for all models?
It increases the throttle response down low but looses power up high.Ive had them on over 10 cars and thats what it does.Even the manufacturer admitted that
Gimmick. Physically cannot make the car faster - that ‘ECU’ you talk about, is still fully in control of the throttle. This junk gives full throttle request at 10% pedal, making you think the car is faster, but it’s not. Lol.
I understand how it works, listen to what I say in the video carefully. The differences in 0-100 would be negligible, except for when you go eco - sport.
@@bonza6451 yeah… idk man tbh it makes it more responsive across all settings, feels quicker might be placebo but the responsiveness does change the way the car drives. I have a new car now and don’t have a throttle controller, but then again my new car is a lot faster than the clubby haha
@@kostasakkas7247 for the cars your driving they are next to useless, nothing slamming your right foot into the firewall can't do. In a high sport setting in the wet could also make them unpredictable and dangerous. Although I've seen them improve performance on modern diesels, only because it manages to minimise turbo lag, and what made them popular in the first place i think because you still have manufacturers warranty
@@kostasakkas7247 obviously too late now, but those cars show you throttle position in engineering mode. Would have been good to see on the dash what's it doing compared to the revs
