I have a vx hsv gts 300 manual(109xxx ks) and vz hsv 297 manual(115xxx is) getting offers for my vx close to 50kplus only 287 made all Manuals aswell ithink.
@@RossReviewsau Agreed mate! Love your reviews, its great to see peoples works. Also think that if your talking car specs it should be Kw & Nm which is what we go by in Aus, give it that aussie flair :) keep up the good work
@@davey6680 ive tried to get the kw Nm figures down but being raised canadian HP always comes to mind lol cant teach an old dog new tricks i guess haha
@@RossReviewsau Ah your not fully Aus thats explains it. I wonder why Canadians/Americans use Imperial to our Metric, has always baffled me. anways :) all good
for the age of the car it has got that sporty look still. and looks like the shape of the moden cars of todays world . and is in very good condition nice car
Nice review mate. Like yourself, I love the VY/VZ shape. I have a VZ series 2 Maloo as well as a VF GTSR, and it’s the VZ my eyes are usually drawn to. Keep up the great reviews.
Had an identical one in nz but in black. Have to argue for reliability. I wasn't hard on it and I rebuilt the 4l60e then had it slip again recently after. Then had the tacho stop clicking over the ks then the airshocks shit themselves and it was a typical ls and leaked oil. But I have to say it was definelty comfy and sounded the part
Hi Johnny mate, whether you're on the Holden or Ford team or love both like me it doesn't matter,we've lost two Australian iconic legends gone forever & I'll be angry about it until I die, anyway a nice car & great review as usual, you & the family take care buddy.
I have a VY Calais LS1 2002 I found the injectors they put on these cars in Australia in the LS1 are garbage , all commodores I have owned have had issues with injectors and I found out why , I worked out looking at the American market the LS1 are running bigger injectors and you can not buy decent injectors in Australia I worked out duty cycles to KW to flow rates what injectors are supposed to be on these engines and what they were doing here in Australia for the Australian market is they dumbed these cars right down , I believe they did it to save money , the injectors you can buy on eBay from the states there is one particular set that falls within what injector spec is supposed to be without a retune ! And the injectors from the states are cheaper and quality , and people here pay big money for the factory injectors in Australia and what they are doing is pissing their money against the wall for sub -standard crap 💩 Now in the link I have provided are the correct injectors With proper flow rates the LS1 corvettes etc in the states they recommend 27 ft/lbs so we should here be running these these are the closest I found in flow rates without a retune (see link ) the ones you buy here in Australia only they sell here I think it’s 24 ft/lbs per hour or something , cars in Australia are DUMBED down here for a slave class that knows no better !! www.ebay.com.au/itm/253101654802
I drove an immaculate same colour green ( 1 of 3 that colour) today stock and with all the extras. HSV cant explaun why my mates build is 160 if only 158 built weird....
Ahh yes, a Senator I've found from experience revving out an LS in power mode isn't beneficial considering they develop peak power at 5600rpm, past that they run out of steam real quick (on a stock cam) Also the rear end ratio of 3.07 isn't ideal A 3.23 or 3.27 would improve significantly without ruining fuel economy or cruising at highway speeds. They feel quicker in normal mode over power mode basically. Overall a decently clean rig !
i tried to load up but would end up wheel spinning haha + don't wanna kill the car with the owner next to me haha im sure it could do slightly better tho real world test the 4 speed hurts it
@@RossReviewsauLove the channel, someday down the track could you review a hsv wagon or vl Calais turbo ive always loved these cars and been fascinated with them.
I find the 6 speed ZF drives quicker than a manual... My BFII XR8 with a ZF absolutely smokes my BA XR8 that had a 4speed auto... 4 speed autos are very sluggish, but a 6 speed ZF is anything but sluggish
@ the 1:08 mark, Again see all the orange peel, what the hell even on a 200K maybach there's orange peel, you would think that they would have come up with a way to use hi quality spray nozzles to make sure its got a even coat of top coat clear, but nope just let the machines spray the cars and whatever happens hopefully client dont really care about their cars?
Looks good in the green with those wheels 👍👌. I'm not sure how old the add is but there's a 2004 Senator for sale on www.pridenjoy.com.au/cars-for-sale/2004-hsv-senator/21779
My memory maybe wrong. But I think VR or VS was the last “factory” option manual senator. HSV did make some senators manual in other models but they weren’t a standard senator. An example of this is the VE Senator SV08.
@@scottgoodwin4810 not sure i always thought it was available.. n the HSV website highlights it as an option 🤷♂️ ill have to find one now to review lol
Signature senator in vy vz had a manual option ,regular senators were auto only 👍 vx senator 300 was manual only lol but that's because the c4b kept blowing up 4l60s 😂 Why u would buy a hsv in auto is beyond me , they should've been manual only lol 👌
@@RossReviewsau yeah pretty much but the ve/vf senator and has the 6 speed auto sequential and goes hard my m8 Anthony mundine has a 2010 model 90k+ brand new
@@RossReviewsau probably like 75% of all senators are auto from the vn model to the vf, the limited edition vx senator 300 are manual and only 28 senators 300 made with 300kw
I will watch the review. Holden has the biggest flops when it comes to hearing one behind you and then goes past sounding loud but it happens to be slow.
I found one on other social plate form I really like the one I’m getting it is good price and full logbook lady owner red so watching this makes me think I need to get one hahaha is vz or vy better model
