personally I wouldn't wait for the Nexus version ( I already have a nexus 5x), because as much as I like stock android, I kind of miss some of the features of the HTC 10 ( like a built in theme engine). I think the 10 is a best of both worlds, combining reasonably stock experience with extra software features.

+bulldog521521 They'll ditch the sense ui and replace it with stock android. move the fingerprint sensor at the back to have more room for on screen buttons and probably have duel front facing speakers
+Alec Robertson The speakers are still stereo actually. Personally I'd almost prefer mono, as it may be possible to squeeze out extra fidelity given the speaker design.
Shaheer Rahman I'd love if they were dual mono, but it's 100% stereo. Head over to the HTC Flagship Megathread over at XDA Forums. We have several people in there who have received their 10's and run a stereo speaker test. The 10 has unbalanced stereo speakers.

It's because of this video that I've purchased an HTC 10(through T-Mobile) last year and I've been very happy since. My Nexus 6 at the time was my favorite phone, but the speakers started having issues along with the camera, and then I ended up dropping my phone while working, causing the screen to crack. I came across this video and it helped address a lot of my concerns. The speaker setup was one of my main concerns and quite honestly, I actually like it. It's not as loud as my Nexus 6, but its still decent enough to play videos. This review was also a little more personable, so it helped a lot because it gave different viewpoints from a user standpoint. Thank you so much for this video, it helped out so much with the conundrum that is choosing the phone to replace my fallen Nexus 6. Please keep making more videos like this.

Robert Daniel Curtis I agree. "I could care less" means you currently care at least some amount. "I couldn't care less" means your care is at 0 and you don't have any more care to care less.

Great review as always @MKBHD. The only thing you forgot to mention was that aside from having expandable storage it also has adoptable storage. You could pop in a 128GB micro SD and have the software adopt it as internal storage. Pretty cool if you ask me! But anyway awesome review! Thanks :)
+TheEpikK4M Its still there on the stock s7 so you'd be lying by saying its not built in. It is just hidden and disabled by default. I hear you can easily re-enable it without hacks or root so its not really an issue.

Horace Silver I hear you man. I'm just surprised when I hear people still using certain phones. And the ones you said are all nice in their own right, but depends on what you want. Samsung for their battery life (which is most important to me, also cleaned up TouchWiz), nexus for those "stock Google" fanatics, and htc for best sounding (speakers, headphones). I have g4 which is nice, i got it because marshmallow ruined my note 4 and wanted something newer and went from AT&T to t-mobile. But I'd love to be able to get new note 7 (love Samsung ability to multi-task with their apps more than lg) , my only caveat is no more removable battery. Can't always get everything in one, Such is life I guess. Funny enough for the past 2 hours, I've been watching reviews on Samsung, and htc.

Samsung's TouchWiz has been cleaned, but in my opinion, Nexus devices ad HTC both have cleaner android skins (Well of coarse no skin on Nexus). If you have the money (and haven;t bought a new phone yet) I recommend Nexus 6P.
People in the comments here do not realize that while the stereospeakers are gone the audio quality is still top-notch, it went down in loudness, but up in quality. Don't even think for a second the 10 is bad at audio, or 'middle of the road' as MKBHD says, it is most definitely the best phone for audiophiles. (not that I am an audiophile, go check out Pocketnow's Juan about the matter)
i was reluctant to buy htc 10 bc i was in LOVE with the front facing boomsound speakers in m8 but i still learned to love it as it is even though sometimes i miss my old phone ;-;

+giff74 Wait. If you like the next Nexus (coming out in September), you can get it. If you don't like it, you can get the HTC 10, and the price will be at least $100-150 lower by then.

+giff74 To be honest, the 10 has micro SD card slot and adaptive storage besides being almost stock android with few modifications, something close to what Motorola has been doing all along. Unless you wanna wait for a slightly better specs, I'd go for the 10 because it's so likely the Nexus won't have micro SD card slot, it never had before

I am wondering too about the G5 review.. It's really rare that MKBHD is ignoring this device, maybe one of two reasons, a "problem" with LG, or a real and nice review including the modules.
are you serious? the top 3 cameras by DXO are the pixel, htc 10 and galaxy s7. iPhone 7 is number 6 or 7.. this is one of the BEST caneras, especially in low light conditions...
@@JacobXavier-xj2zk It was a good phone but nothing special like the htc 10 and the htc one before that. U11 felt like htc trying to mingle in with others instead of standing out as they used to like say with htc 10. The glass back with no wireless charging, taking away the headphone jack while giving the participation trophy of a special earphone etc felt like a brand that was starting to lose their confidence.

I'm pretty disappointed with this review and others by you as of late. I understand you can't fit every detail about a product in a short video but but you left out so many amazing features. the lack of interest in the HTC 10 by you is very evident. You seem bored with reviewing smartphone. HTC hi-fi speakers may not be the same double front facing speakers but it still blows away anything apple or Samsung puts out. OIS on a front camera? WHAT? apple will have that on its next iPhone and it'll be revolutionary.

HTC did some impressive work for this phone. too bad they won't get rewarded for it....if the iPhone 7 is in really once again simply a iPhone 6.5 I am finally moving to Android. I am still going with an 5S...don't see the point in upgrading iPhones these days.
+RedstoneWirez it is. to be honest the HTC One M7 was so impressive overall...even after 3-4 months i was happy taking the phone out of the pocket just to feel the nice metal and look at the best screen at the time.
I think MKBHD has the best tech reviews on youtube, that's why he has a higher subscribers than some of the others. I like the fact that he's one of the only one's has gone to school for IT.
Maybe if HTC bring back those front facing speakers, they can accommodate that fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone a la Nexus 6 or Huawei P9. I ain't no tech magician but I see no reason why that wouldn't work. :)

+JohnJigglywiggly Pick the HTC 10 for an all around great phone that does everything well and does in ear audio superbly. Also if you enjoy clean no frills UI, close to stock android UI. Pick Samsung S7 if you absolutely have to have the best camera on the market and don't mind poor audio quality and touchwiz. Pick iPhone 6s if you are an apple person. I really can't see any logical reason to pick the 6s over the HTC 10 or Samsung S7.

after using this phone for a few months I think that it could even have a much bigger battery. it really feels thin. the battery is great but could be made bigger without making the phone fat.

ZR1Terror it was decent but I don't use headphones that often. I usually listen to podcast and music while doing homework or chores in the kitchen so those rich m8 boom speakers come in handy. The M10 front doesn't have any characteristics to indicate top from bottom so I'm constantly picking the phone upside down. I may be done with the HTC M series. They've ruined it
It's really a shame that they removed the dual front facing speakers.. I get why they had to, but it was a key feature in the M/, M8 and M9.. Not really that hyped about the camera either. They're not saturated enough for my liking. In all the other departments, this phone looks great though. Glad you mentioned that they focused on a good output, when using headphones. I feel like that a point lots of companies doesn't really care about.
