I got her on ten wishes with two beidou after getting xiao, i was hesitant to get her on my second account at first because I play on a shitty phone so normal and charged attacks are so damn laggy 😭😭😭🙏🏼
Hu Tao is the reason I started playing! I find her to be so unique and I love that despite having released so many characters, she still stays relevant. Her lore is great too! I got her C1 and Homa on the first day of the banner. I saved 125 wishes for that and even though I am back to 0 primos, I'm hoping I can pull Yelan for a double hydro Hu Tao team comp! Aqua would also be great but I'm honestly not lucky enough for that lol

In my opinion, any f2p player should stay away from pyro and cryo dps characters, i am going to be using Hu Tao as an example for pyro characters, and Ayaka for cryo, For Hu Tao she is VERY painful to build for f2ps, not only does she needs two of the best five stars in the game, but she needs her weapon, and A TON of investment into her artifact domain, primarily because she has a FOUR scaling system, since she needs hp, atk, em, and crit, and it is REALLY hard to get artifacts that have all four, plus without her weapon, her dmg takes a significant hit, since you lose a TON of base atk,crit, and hp, and well my advice for f2p players is to stay AWAY from the weapon banner i lost 200 wishes as an f2p in a single weapon banner so learn from my mistake and don’t pull in it, Hu Tao’s c1 is optional but is better to have, since it makes using her easier, so in conclusion, Hu Tao needs, two of the best five stars in the game, her weapon, and alot of good artifacts to be usable, which in my opinion is alot of wishes to bes used on one character, and also in my opinion Hu Tao is the MOST overrated character in the game and people constantly saying she is a great dps (especially people like Zy0x and Sevyplays) are the main reason for it, and saying this, made me dig a primogems hole so deep for my self that i can’t get out of it without making my Hu Tao permanently unusable, also (for Zy0x and any genshin guides youtubers out there) you should NEVER judge how good a character is based on a whale’s experience, ALWAYS try to use a character in a f2p team/way to get if they are good enough or not for f2ps, this means right f2ps weapons AT r1, trying to minimize the effects of constellations, and using four star characters only. Anyway, for Ayaka, the problem is more or less the same, while she does not REALLY needs her weapon, Shenhe, Xingque, and a anemo swirl character like sucrose is necessary, and well for me at least i HAVE NEVER won a 50 50 so i should not expect that any f2ps will, vut if you did manage to get Shenhe, and great artifacts for Ayaka she is good at that point, but if not, you will easily be spending about 360 wishes JUST TO GET the two of them. I am sure some people will jump to say that Ganyu is better but in fact, she is WORSE. For starters, The Himayumi doesn’t have alot of base atk so getting her required atk lvls could be problematic not to mention crit ratio, plus she CAN’T use Xingque or Yelan and aince Barbra is not good enough most of the times, most players will think they are forced to pull for kokomi, not only that, but she also NEEDS Shenhe, and a swirl character, and REALLY a five star weapon, AND good artifacts, if you want to play a freaze Ganyu. A special note on comps really quick. Burst damage comp does have the option of Hu Tao, Mona, Sucrose(with VV) and Kazuha(with gilded). It is a very expensive build to run but if you get it going especially with C6 Hu Tao and C2 Kazuha that is the best way to absolutely maximize your damage per screenshot. the additional neat bit is that anemo resonance actually shortens Hu Tao rotation timer due to the cooldown it gives.
Or alternatively there's C4 Ayaka that decrease Def. And use Bennett for atk buff and of course run no hp or healing bonus as to not heal while in Burst.

She was the first limited five star I was able to and never regretted it, girl has carried me through everything, my most invested for sure. Hu, Yelan,XQ and Zhongli. Easy life 🥰

Edit: I FINALLY MANAGED TO FINISH THE ABYSS WITH HER COMPLETELY f2p, and as it turns out, i was wrong about her, she can finish the abyss with r1 dragons bane at c0 though it took alot of tries, if you have Yelan, and Zhongli, get the dragons bane and try alot in the abyss, but if you don’t want to try alot and only want to finish the abyss with a breaze then get someone else or try to get her weapon.
Well... i am f2p, but what if you just enjoy your ayaka or other and take your time getting better stats. I dont have the wpns either, but a good team solves a lot.

as f2p... i don't know why, but i instantly went to pull on weapons for the first time. and actually it went very good (first aqua in 70 puls, second - 50 and homa in next 15). probably now i need to skip Dehya, but i dont regret pulling weapons.
That banner is the very few weapon banners that isn’t as bad as the others in terms of risk so I think it was a good choice! I’m pretty satisfied with my 5 star characters(I’ll focus on building them for now)so next time,I’ll probably pull for the weapon banner when it’s really good👍
You actually did the right thing by pulling the weapons and skipping dehya cuz by far she's the worst unit in the game, not even the worst 5* but the worst unit overall.

I did a single pull on the weapon banner hoping for aqua to use on my ganyu but I got Homa so now I'm considering whether or not to use my guarantee on the character banner on her or not
If I had homa my hu tao stats would look like this: 62,5 cr, 254 cd, 187 em and 30/31k HP with two hydro in the team but I use her with dragons bane currently so her stats rn is 65,3 cr, 192,5 cd, 221 em and 35k hp in double hydro team and both build has 94 pyro dmg bonus
I've had Hu Tao since her first release and never really bothered to properly build her until just before this new banner. Not sure why I waited so long, because she absolutely rocks with a vaporize team (even with non-ideal weapon/artifacts/c0).
My Hutao has C1 and got staff of homa. With 142 EM, 35k HP, 70%CR and 220%CD. The EM is low due to my team having elegy yelan and instructor zhongli. With the double hydro I reach 115k in charged attacks.
I was super lucky, this update I was able to get Alhaitham, C1 Hu Tao ( being Hu Tao less since i started during her first rerun banner) C1Tig and got a C4 Keqing n.n
8:38 calling me out here 🙈 my hu tao is like … 45/260 in her ratio, i get super lucky with crit dmg rolls and i have staff of homa. i’ve had her since her first rerun and her build hasn’t changed in a while, it is annoying that she doesn’t crit as often as she should, but i might go back to the emblem domain to try and get some better pieces… maybe i’ll even triple crown her, she’s at 10/10/9 rn
Pretty solid guide. The hardest stat to get on her is crit rate most of the time unless you happen to have a crit rate weapon. I had to sacrifice a lot of damage on my Hu Tao to just get her crit rate above 60%.
Yes. That's her. That's my strongest, most invested in dps. I mainly used her with Zhongli, Xingqiu and Ningguang (very good team!), but now that I pulled for Yelan I'll be testing the new comp more. I might try to get her an EM sands because that's the only thing I'm sure I lack compared to others xd
I did a charged attack damage calculation for my Hu Tao with team buffs. The numbers seem to be correct. Few interesting things I found out: I use shimenawa. Crimson witch with same stats would give me 7,4% less dmg. Gilded would give 6,7% less dmg. If Ihad less than 150 EM, then an EM goblet would actually be better than a pyro dmg goblet. This is because pyro damage bonus is calculated additively with shimenawa and yelan a4 passive. Having more than 50% hp decreases my dmg by 28%. Without Zhongli pillar, my damage would be 16,7% lower. regarding max hp: in the video he said ~42k HP. I calculated the exact numbers. You probably want to have 20% HP "buffer", so if you get 20% hp bonus in abyss you can use it effectively. if your skill is lvl 9: 47987, with buffer 44876 if your skill is lvl 10: 45687, with buffer 42577 if your skill is lvl 13: 40000, with buffer 36890 all assuming you use staff of homa if anyone is interested in specific calculations or comparisons, let me know
Dragons bane is the second best weapon for her even among 5 star weapons which makes homa the only better option and tbh it is better but there is not a huge difference and even if there is a huge difference, c0 hu tao will clean the abyss 12 very easily so you dont need homa C1 will give you more fun playing her and homa will give more dmg but you dont need that
@@arriolakimjohn6385With Homa the differences is not that big so it's boiled down to substats. If any other weapons except Dragon's Bane then EM wins in most case. Unless your EM roll here happens to be 100, then HP wins.
it's more like with Homa you want to use EM Sands in like 70% of cases instead. 100EM is the bare minimum, not the end goal. Seems like in your case other stats outweigh the benefit but especially in double hydro HP rolls are worth less than EM basically every time until you hit around 300EM or higher
I obtained HU Tao and it took winning a 50/50 since yoiymiya was the 100% garantee that i had so it was stressful knowing i coulda gotten tighnari or diluc or any standard banner characters Ill be using this guide since im new to this character love it.
i started playing this year just because hu tao got my attention in watching others gameplay, i finally got her as my first 5 star this 3.4 update aswell as her weapon, and just recently yelan, no constellation on both of them though, im still lacking in artifacts for her and her team and still enjoying much of the game... i didnt aim for her for the meta, but more like she's f*cking adorable and weird

What I'd have been curious about is a EM build Hu Tao - as in at least sands and circlet are EM, goblet might be pyro or also EM. Considering most of her attacks are pyro infused in a team her elemental reaction damage very high EM numbers might be higher than the damage of just a regular DPS build.
Surprisingly got her on my alt account which is very low AR and I don't play on very often so now I have learn how to play Hu Tao. Even tho I like her I never planned on getting her on my main account and I got yelan on my main. I wanted the 4 stars on this banner since I didn't have them and was pulling on Hu taos banner just in case I got a 5 star since I want my alt to have different characters and I somehow won the first 50/50 on that account. So now I have to focus on building her and learning her stuff, at least I got 2 xingquis while wishing so I have her best support

I mean, there are still plenty of external EM sources (elegy, instructors, sucrose, Albedo etc). So long as you can make use of them, it should be fine.
@@cee5899 yeah, the problem isn't finding the options, it's being able to get them. The best artifacts I managed to upgrad for her had no EM, but I do have a upgraded Dragon's Bane. What about the 0 EM build? Homa, now with no crit rate Zhongli and Candace.
bro i returned to genshin after months and I pulled hu tao just now on 0 pity…. the pull before i got tighnari and the pull right after i got hu tao… luck is insane
I had her since her 2nd rerun and she was my main for awhile and I just now did a single summon and got Staff Of Homa I can finally get rid of dragons bane 😭🙏🏽
Just an FYI: My best HP goblet is literally 20%+ stronger than my best pyro goblet. Sub-stats are king and this is true for every character (which includes HT). If you're using an EM sands and not a HP sands, there's a good chance that an HP goblet with good sub stats will be competitive with pyro damage. This is why it's important to use GO and not just assume that the same build recommendations are going to work for you.

My C1 Hu Tao with R2 Homa Staff has 0 EM with 4pc Crimson Witch. Should I give her an EM Sands instead of HP Sands or not? Her Ratio is 63 : 250 and she has about 41k HP.
my hu tao uses r4 dragonsbane with em sands . She has 420EM xD . ik its too high but after comparsion ive seen that my hu tao doing more dmg with em than hp . Going to 70k vape charged atk in abyss is really nice to see . Also i tried a lot to get homa but got spooked by aqua . Am at 63 rolls in on the again still no luck . Maybe wont get homa since there's like a few hours left till the banner ends n i got no more primos left...
I accidentally pulled the staff of scarlet sands while building pity for misplitter, I am using the dragons bane with 270+ em and 58 em with ssc with crimson witch should I change my artifact to gilded?

I literally have a perfect Hu Tao with perfect rolls on everything BUT the sands, cause I've been farming the perfect HP sands, while getting at least 5 good to perfect EM sands along the way. Can anyone help me? I have currently have her guarantee for C1 but I am unsure whether or not to get C1 or save for Zhongli. Side note: I am struggling a little with stamina management due to getting her for less than 3 days but I believe I can improve with time.

Deathmatch and Dragon's Bane are really good 4 stars, you don't need Homa. If Dragon's Bane is r5, it's very close to Homa already. Alternatively there's Lithic Spear but must have minimum 3 Liyue. Missive Windspear which is ok, Blackcliff also decent. 3* have White Tassel. Among the 5*, I only do not recommend Skyward Spine. Jade Spear, Scarlet Sand, Vortex and Calamity are all good. I also rank them from best to last in naming order. Strictly dmg speaking Vortex actually do better than Scarlet Sand but it's not by alot and Scarlet Sand helps you build Crit better so more consistent.
If you're already comfortable with Hu Tao's jump cancels, C1 wouldn't be necessary. C1 and Homa gives roughly the same dps increase, the difference being that Homa can be used on several other characters while C1 is Hu Tao specific. However, the weapons banner is a scam and unless you get lucky or have the primos to spare, I wouldn't recommend it. Personally, if you can only choose one, I'd say go for Yelan. Double hydro is cracked. As an off field hydro sub dps, Yelan is very versatile and can be used in multiple team comps. Ultimately, do what is best for you and your account.
