I did a reaction to this song too when it came out. Just to the song. I didn't had a translation at that time. I started to cry when Hua Hua started to sing the second verse. Maybe because I was in a dark/depressive mood at that time... The music, his voice at that moment gave me so much hope. It was like a big warm hug... Can't describe it really. I love this song. ❤ It is my second favorite song at this album after Illusion and Reality.
I appreciate your candor and honesty. Not all of Hua Hua's music hits me the same way, so I do have my favorites. I enjoy this as an un uplifting song; and I agree, I love hearing Hua Hua's vocals, more than the chorus. But I can see this as an amazing uplifting song to sing together, especially on the day when Hua Hua will hold his Sunrise concert.
I agree with you that it’s like a worship song😊 it’s describing the process of sun rise. The sun starts to shine from maybe 2 mins of the song. As if you’ve been waiting for the sun to rise. it’s a very powerful song in the concert when everyone sings together. This video has screened out most of the voice from the Martians which is a bit pity. In my feeling, Mars has become some sort of religion for Martians, it’s so heart warming and everyone treasure it so deeply including hua.
I love the lyrics but it was a grower. Not a big fan of the childrens choir either, but i totally love the song now. And yes, i think its the audience singing along with him.
Thank you for this reaction Tre I get where you are coming from, I just look at it as coming from a different place for him as he doesn't have the same cultural markers that we have in the west. I have to admit that this song grew on me, I love the way he involves the audience with the songs, giving space for them to join in. Always a pleasure to hear your opinion though 🌺🌺

You are so adorable. And I understand you because I miss rocker and rapper Hua. As Hua says, he feels that he is socially responsible and he wants to help people who have problems he was struggling with (and I think that those struggles aren't completely over) and make this world a better place. He has great heart. And I also don't really like public children's singing especially when their parents bring them to each and every possible competition and show and these children start to believe that they are something special but later grow up as absolutely ordinary people who don't have any chance to shine because they don't have anything to shine with.
The song is official called "Growing towards the Sun", This is a very positive and optimistic song. Maybe you can find a better translation for Hua's music next time. This song is also produced for his upcoming Sunrise Concert, which he plans to hold this year by the seaside in southern China, starting from the evening and lasting until sunrise the next morning. I'm really looking forward to attending this concert. We are going to sing this song together.
This is actually IMO also a great translation. And the title is a very literal translation from the chinese. As a representative of another group that also do Hua Chenyu translations, this sounds a bit petty and isnt really in line with what HuaHua stand for.
@@CC-sr2ec Ever since I saw them translate the line "玉阶纷飞金箍摇" from the song into something like "带著玉饰的宫女仓皇逃跑的模样," I have lost all hope in their translations. In my view, sharing poorly translated lyrics is an insult to Hua Chenyu's music.
Seriously… ???? Your example "玉阶纷飞金箍摇" is from Qi Tian and not at all from Growing towards the Sun. HCYES translation/rewriting of "玉阶纷飞金箍摇" : ~Flight of jade steps shattered at the swing of my golden cudgel (Qi Tian's weapon)~ Experience Hua Chenyus rewriting of the same phrase: ~The palace steps shatter under the swing of my staff~. Could you please enlighten me in the vast difference in meaning between these two versions? Rhetorical question, people can judge for themselves if they are interested. I dont understand why you used a weird chinese phrase as example for supposedly bad translation to english either. I have always had the greatest respect and gratitude for HCYES and their work and i actually would prefer to keep it that way. Bad enough with all the slandering from the black accounts.. we dont need Martians talking down others. I always appreciate your reactions to Hua Chenyu, you have such an open mind and insight, and take the time to learn the lyrics and the meaning behind his songs. Some of the styles of songs he's done weren't my cup of tea either (I'm not a fan of stomp clamp/Mumford & Songs, Imagine Dragony stuff which hes tried before), but I appreciate that he tries all kinds of things, and in the end the message of the songs are really powerful. The Hope album came at a good time for me, as well, and this song really felt like that warm light of the sun coming out.
