Today, we take a day trip to the cruise port of Huanchaco! This beach city is considered to be the birthplace of ceviche and surfing, but Jeremy only tries one of those things. Then, we visit one of the best restaurants in Trujillo for dinner, because Ally is still overcoming food poisoning and who doesn't like eating good food?
We used Hotels.com to score the our Trujillo Hotel. Being a Gold Member gave us a free upgrade as well as other perks! We want you to get great prices on hotels, too. If you book any hotel through this link below, it will help us out a lot as we will receive a portion of the revenue that would normally go to hotels.com (this will not increase your price): bit.ly/3s7a1js
About Us: We are Jeremy and Ally. When we met in Los Angeles, we immediately realized we shared a love for working hard and traveling! (We had each been to over 30 countries already when we met!) We married in 2018 and thought we would be a career power-couple who traveled in our free time. Then, we found a way to make this dream happen and travel full time! Thanks for joining us on our epic world adventure!
Thank YOU: We feel SO honored to have you with us as we share experiences from around the globe. We hope this channel is a place of inspiration, exploration, and that you leave our channel feeling better than when you came to visit us here! We love having you and hearing your thoughts, tips, experience, humor and reactions in the comments.

The first spanish cronistas ( writers during the first years of Spain in Peru ) , saw big reed ( totora ) boats going from North Peru to Panama and viceversa. It is also seen some quechua names - language of Peru - in Polynesia as Amaru ( serpent in quechua ) in Rimatara Island

The rumors say that before the Hawaiians became popular with the surfing?, the Incas in Peru already has been kicking off with the surfing experience in Trujillo Huanchaco 3 thousands years ago with they little totora canoe, how about that 😃🙃👍

I think so. Check out the surfboards made from weeds! The story probably goes, a Peruvian surfer was surfing one day and caught a 400’ wave and landed in Hawaii and that’s how Hawaii was founded. Lol

The corn in your food is standard size, are not huge in Perú we have more biggers species of corns, the Cusco giant corn is 3 to 4 size bigger than the choclo variety.

Should be kind of difficult for your wife that she can't eat any kind of meat?, personally I am myself a 90% vegetarian which is sometimes I like to enjoy a seafood and a bit of white meat except not any kind of red meat, when you travel to a different countries sometimes could be a problem to find a good vegetarian restaurant. Cheers 🙂

Ally doesn’t eat any meat. It can be tricky for her. Thankfully Peru has been amazing. You have a good diet. In the US there are a lot of commercial ideas on how we should eat and other countries just do it differently!

Come on. Take just a little time to take just a little trouble to do your research. Huanchaco is NOT the birth place of surfing.

Hey, thanks for watching. I actually did do some research on this. It seems there are four locations around the world that profess to be the birthplace of surfing. I did some carbon dating by eating some sand from the ocean and I check the wind speeds by putting my finger in the air so it seems legit.
